OlderHeidi Klum is a Blue Indian Goodess
Heidi Klum goes all out with her costume during her annual Halloween party at 1 Oak in New York City on Friday.
The 35-year-old Project Runway host explained her costume to reporters, saying, “It was actually my assistant’s idea. My husband [Seal] and I were in India last year, so she said, ‘Why don’t you do an Indian goddess? Like a scary Indian goddess?’ And I said ‘OK!’ So then she Googled around and she found Kali and showed me a picture, and I loved it. I loved it because she’s so mean and killed all these different people and [had] fingers hanging off [her] and little shrunken heads everywhere.”
Heidi also talked about her kids’ costumes: “Leni is a bumblebee and the boys [Henry and Johan] are Spiderman. But they’re always Spiderman, so I don’t think for them there’s a difference between Halloween or any other day. They always dress up.”

I agree the costume was wonderful. I am not from India or a Hindu. But I can understand how painful it would be for them. Not because she dressed like one of their goddesses but the way Heidi describes kali “killed a bunch of people…” In what century Heidi thinks she is living in. She says she went to India but she had not bothered to learn about its rich culture. Shame on her…

Actually Hindus are mighty tolerant people. Ignoramuses mock the most accomodating religion. Hinduism makes room for all religions because of its polytheistic forms leading to one power. That is why Jesus and Allah have their Indian followers. Dr.Thurman knew a few things about this great culture. He took one of the facets of the Shakti form of woman goddess of which Kali is the extreme, to name his daughter UMA. (nee Thurman)

I am an Indian and Hindu. I am not at all dissed at the costume in itself, however I am dissed at the fact that she wore it like a party costume Kissing, people, holding wine, giving the “kill em all” pose.
However I am not mad enough to blow up all the airheads in the west either. Airheads exist all over the world, you become one of them when you take their actions seriously.
I wonder what people would think if someone dressed up like Hitler holding a huge Ashtrray withhebrew inscriptions OR hooded men in a chariot pulled by Black men.. ;) Just do your research before you decide to go “Yaaa I am evil”

How can you open your mouth without thinking. Kali is the strongest form of a women , who fights injustice. I really admired Klum, thought she was sane, but sadly her remarks proves otherwise. Oh, she is still beautiful and is wearing a great costume, but now I know she has something missing between her ears.

To pick a 5000 year old religion with one of the richest philosophical texts that has no record of proselytizing, no record of aggression and has been the source of birth for three other religions (Buddhism, Jainism and Sikhism) for your Halloween night party is truly mature and clever thinking. As you can see in your own comments page, it is Hinduism’s greatness that we let denegration of our Gods let past us. But I would really like you to follow my suggestions for the next Halloween.

@kali’s daughter…hinduism is way older than 5000 years…its one of “the” oldest religions in the world..each “yuga” is 5000 years n we’re in the fourth and final “yuga” so do the math..
