OlderKate Winslet - “Vanity Fair” December 2008
Kate Winslet bares it all for the December 2008 issue of Vanity Fair, which hits shelves November 11. Here’s what the 33-year-old British actress says in the mag:
On her fashion sense: “I often look at women who wear great jeans and high heels and nice little T-shirts wandering around the city and I think, I should make more of an effort. … But then I think, they can’t be happy in those heels.”
On her body: “This is going to sound really weird, but I never had a desire to be famous. I never had huge ambitions - never. I was fat. I didn’t know any fat famous actresses. I just did not see myself in that world at all, and I’m being very sincere. You know, once a fat kid, always a fat kid. Because you always think that you just look a little bit wrong or a little bit different from everyone else.”

This is quite incredible how society and the medias are TAKING US FOR IDIOTS . We are told to accept ourselves the way we naturally are but then we are bombarded by images of celebs who are the ideals of today ’s world who DO NOT LOOK LIKE THIS IN REALITY !!!!

Oh god im so sick of her, not only her fake sh!tness about appareance that she screams about it from a while now, but more from some of her loonies who treat her as a GOD actress, sorry but i don’t find her acting being that extraordinary she didn’t blow me yet with a role, i find her ok but not that great, she is an ok actress but definitely not this god actress that some of her hard fans are sicking us with .
Winslet is never blasted on “fashion mags” as you so erroneously and eloquently phrased it.
This a very rare photo-shoot accompanying an in depth article Vanity Fair is not a Fashion Magazine, not it’s over 100 years of existence.

The entire layout is an homage to famous Deneuve photographs, including the cover.
Obviously, Winslet is only the model and didn’t create the layout.
It’s a rare treat for Winslet to give interviews and participate in layouts. This is a very good one.
PS: Regarding Vanity Fair, my fave magazine. They have become so political I cancelled my subscription. I love the articles on Politics, but they need to replace Grayson as Editor, he is so far to the left that the magazine leans while trying to read an issue.
Much better when Tina Brown was Editor.

Mangelina looked like a corpse, you can’t even put Mangelina next to Kate, kate has a feminine features, Mangelina has a manly features with her man jaw as a tranvestite, she got a bulging frog eyes, a wrinkled anal lips, a huge frohead, a skinny disgusting arms with a disgusting bulging veins, a skinny ulgy legs, and NO butts, and don’t get me starting with her trashy tatoos…

It’s not as if she’s undressed for the sake of it, she’s dressed up as Catherine Deneuve. Evidently, all the negative people are probably too young or too unaware to even know who the lovely Deneuve is.

I agree with EB in regards to Naten’s comment, Kate is class all the way. She’s obviously not prudish or ashamed of her body, so why should you be? There’s nothing wrong with the human form, grow up and get over yourself.

Amanda, I like your points and I am not against actresses doing nude photo spreads but I despise the hypocrites who try to dictate who should be allowed to pose nude or not. It is their body, they are grown-ups and are entitled to do with their body as they please. But some here are so jealous of some actresses and while they approve of certain actresses doing certain things they criticise others for the same behaviour. They let their envy cloud their judgement. It is these group of people that I can’t stand, their double standard and all. They are despicable, stupid and full of ****.

That summation aside, Catherine Deneuve is one of the most elegant, , aristocratic actresses to ever grace the screen. A true lady who has been honored by the French government as the ideal of French womanhood.
THAT is the reason why when she portrayed an upper class French aristocratic wife who moonlights as a high end prostitute it was so shocking.
The film “Belle Du Jour” is a masterpiece of cinematique histoire.
Winslet is not paying homage to anyone.
Vanity Fair ’s art department is paying homage to the make-up, clothing, and wardrobe made famous in the movie.
It’s no different than an actress being styled as Marilyn Monroe.
Fur Kate? What a moronic move. You could have refused to do that, but you didn’t so I won’t be supporting this movie.
