Barack Obama Elected President
Democrat Barack Obama was elected as the first black president of the United States of America on Tuesday night.
The 47-year-old senator from Illinois defeated Republican Sen. John McCain. Officials said voters came out in record numbers on Election Day — 130 to 140 million people.
The crowd is going wild in Grant Park in Chicago, where Obama will give his first public speech as president-elect.
Obama will be sworn in as the 44th President on January 20, 2009.

I pray that I am wrong, but I fear for this country. I don’t understand how people could be so foolish and elect a man who could not pass a background check to be the president’s bodyguard, but it’s okay for him to be president? His wife is a racist, who just now is proud of her country? Nevermind all of the men and women who have sacrificed their lives for this country so we can be free. And what about all the times the US has come to the aide of other countries? That’s nothing to be proud of? Mostly I resent all of the blacks who never bothered to vote before, showing up to vote just because he is a black man. Yeah, that a really good reason to vote for someone. And his “spread the wealth” plan? Yeah, take from from people who work their butts off so they can live comfortbly and give it to those who refuse to work. Yeah, sounds fair to me. But whatever, if everything falls apart….at least I can say, I didn’t vote for him. If in 4 years, he has proved me wrong, I will gladly eat crow and congratulate those who did vote for him.
