Carrie Underwood: No Respect for Celebs who Endorse Candidates

In the actual interview, she does NOT mention anyone’s name. I don’t know how any of you think she supports either McCain or Obama by the answer she gave in the interview.

Before some of you what to make comments you might want to go read that acutal interview and not the usual spin that this site puts on everything.

Taylor Swift fan you saying that Carrie is doing this for publicity after the crap that Taylor does is just laughable, you really need to look in the mirror!!!!!!!!!!!!

Those of you that disagree with her, really live a shelter life. All of these so call Celebs, should keep it to themselves. They are after all, only amusement for the public. To use their venue as a tool to display their views, means less than their acting or entertaining abilities. For you to be lead down any path because you admire them, makes you less educated and very gullible. They do have a right to their opinions, as long as they keep them to themselves, just like all of the public has to.

She is the smartest celeb I know of. Go girl! And celebs can express their opinion, just not in the political world simply because there are plenty of idiots who would say “OH! My favorite celebrity wants Obama to win so I should vote for him, too! His policies don’t matter. It only matters that my favorite celebrity wants him to win.” Simply put, she is one smart woman. Those who disagree are the idiots.

Soooo, is she assuming that the American voters don’t have minds of their own and will just vote for a candidate because a celebrity has endorsed them? “Losing all respect” is a little extreme…

Wow, I didn’ tlike her much before but I’ve gained so much respect for her for saying this!!

Wow to all the people who called her a “stupid *****” or “stupid republican” you’re making yourself and democrats look bad based on the stupid things you say.

Cudos to this young lady. Celebrities use their star power (usually actors/singers) to influence others in politics. While they have a right to their opinion, they should not use the media or their star power to broadcast it. Most of them are excellent in their field, but I would not take economic/political/legal/ or any other advice from them. Unfortunately, there are people in society who view them as role models (justified or not) and are swayed by their political endorsements, instead of seeking out their own opinion. Ms. Underwood, you are 100% correct and your stock went up in my opinion!

BTW, I am indeed a Republican, but if Mr. Obama is elected, I will refer to him as Mr. President and he will be my President - good, bad, or indifferent. Just as George Bush is my President now and Clinton was 8 years ago. My courtesy extends to whomever holds that distinguished office. I am sorely disappointed with Repubs and Democrats who speak ill of the President or the other party just because of differences in politics/direction. Speak your mind, but be respectful of the office, the candidates, and the other party.

George Washington warned us of political parties, the divisiveness they bring, and the very problems we are experiencing! We can certainly have differences of opinion and hold/voice them strongly, but we need to work together and compromise to find solutions if we are to remain a great country.

I agree that celebrities should not you their power to influence some one else vote. HOWEVER, Carrie Underwood is being a DRAMA QUEEN again by saying she lost respect for those whose chose to speak up. What she said is uncalled for . By being a DRAMA QUEEN (act as her normal self) her message got lost along the way.

So what if she is a republican like some of you are saying..She doesn’t have a right to be a Republican with an opinion? i see it’s only democrats that put her down. I guess that shows how paranoid democrats are. I totally agree wuth her there are people in this world that idolize hollywood people so much they could be easily influenced by their opinion or, maybe go out and vote for a canidate that they really know nothing about. I agree that hollywood stars are just people{OVER PAID PEOPLE} but, some people are more easily influenced. it’s fine if you want to say who you are voting for but, don’t try to persuade others.

I totally agree with Carrie Underwood. These celebrities that live in hollywierd and every where else, think that just because they endorse someone for president that everyone else will follow. Well you know what only the idiots that don’t have a mind of there own would do that and believe me there are plenty of those people around. All you need to do is read and listen to what each candidate will do to improve the country and you can make up your own mind.

Don’t forget to vote for the candidate that you think will make this country better…. That’s all that counts.
