OlderCarrie Underwood: No Respect for Celebs who Endorse Candidates
Country music superstar Carrie Underwood has lost all respect for Oprah, Jennifer Aniston, George Clooney and other celebrities who have backed candidates for office.
While talking about the presidential race with TV Guide, Carrie revealed, “There is someone I do support, but I don’t support publicly. I lose all respect for celebrities when they back a candidate.”
“It’s saying that the American public isn’t smart enough to make their own decisions,” she explains. “I would never want anybody to vote for anything or anybody just because I told them to. Music is where you go to get away from all the BS. Whether it’s from politics or just the world around you, music should be an escape.”

I am getting really tired of her and her opinions. Who cares who speaks about who they are backing in the elections. Her “little miss perfect” attitude is nauseating
Not sure what she is talking about with Jennifer Aniston-Jennifer did a PSA for voting..along with a lot of others.Jennifer has never publicly endorsed either candidate…Carrie is a tad wrong in that statement…or is that a Just Jared add on?
I don’t see any problems with a celebrity endorsing a candidate. Its the same as them telling us their fav food or ‘who they’re wearing’.
i’d rather hear about what other people (including celebrities) think about each cadidate than hear about carrie underwoods opinon on other celebrities???? Why does she have to come out and make a big statement about how she’s keeping her vote private. does she want some kind of award??????

Celebrities should ONLY endorse VOTING, not WHO TO VOTE FOR. Leave the campaigning to the political parties! Celebrities should simply publicise the need to exercise your right to vote and that you should RESEARCH the candidate and THEN vote. Some celebrity obsessed idiots will vote for x candidate simply because their favourite star endorses them and you can bet your bottom dollar they will not know ONE policy of that candidate!
Luciana your on a celebrity blog like all of us, just saying… so if you think about it Carries message makes alot of sense. we follow and look up to these celebrities (some of them and having them put there support on a candidate in our face can influence us in our decisions, some of us at least)
If I, as a non-celebrity, am publicly allowed to share whom I’m voting for and to go out and work for the campaign - why isn’t a famous person allowed the same freedom?

well said carrie. i couldn’t agree more. when youre a celebrity, it is ur JOB to be in the public eye. you wouldn’t go flauning a sign around your work saying who youre voting for would you? i think its very unprofessional for a celebrity to endorse a particular candidate.
but then again i think ur pretty stupid if you vote a certain way just because a celebrity told you to.
