OlderCarrie Underwood: No Respect for Celebs who Endorse Candidates
Country music superstar Carrie Underwood has lost all respect for Oprah, Jennifer Aniston, George Clooney and other celebrities who have backed candidates for office.
While talking about the presidential race with TV Guide, Carrie revealed, “There is someone I do support, but I don’t support publicly. I lose all respect for celebrities when they back a candidate.”
“It’s saying that the American public isn’t smart enough to make their own decisions,” she explains. “I would never want anybody to vote for anything or anybody just because I told them to. Music is where you go to get away from all the BS. Whether it’s from politics or just the world around you, music should be an escape.”

I applaud her 100%. Who cares who these idiots vote for…if they are for a certain candiate, that is reason enough for me to be against them. Most of these people in entertainment are morans anyway…many haven’t even graduated high school so who the Blank really gives a Blank who they support?

I totally agree with Carrie!!! She is the only celebrity smart enough to understand that just because they have made it big in the music or movie industry, that does not make them an expert on political matters.
What really cracks me up is when some idiot celebrity starts talking about how dumb a political candidate is. I would love for each of these celebrities to sit down and take a test and match their scores against the candidates. If they knew beforehand that the scores would be published, I can guarantee you they would quit making those statements.

Well I don’t really care what Carrie Underwood has to say. I think celebrities can endorse who ever they want, they have the right to vote as well! I have more respect for people like Gwyneth Paltrow who in Glamour magazine says she is voting for Obama, then states a list of specific reasons why, mostly regarding women’s healthcare. She was knowledgeable on the facts of the issues.
Carrie sounds like a ***** in every interview I’ve read of hers.
I totally disagree with what she says - it’s a good thing that celebrities talk about politics, it’s making people who might not feel concerned about the vote pay more attention, and be more informed.

George Clooney and other celebs speak out for a lot of issues. Not only presidential elections. When was the last time you heard of Carrie standing up for gay rights, AIDS, cancer or darfur?!
