Orlando Bloom Supports Barack Obama
Orlando Bloom wants you to vote for change, as shown in the latest PSA. Here’s what the 33-year-old British actor had to say:
“Hey, I’m Orlando Bloom. I’m here in the Obama California headquarters… Barack Obama, for me, is head and shoulders above anyone else and it’s time for change and he brings the hope of the country.”
He just lost Carrie Underwood as a fan. She certainly would not approve this message.

Both OBAMA and MCCAIN I don’t like, but I care the environment and peace, economic. So just like OB I can’t vote, but if I can I would vote OBama.
Should be interesting to see if Obama is to the presidency what Orlando is to acting: lots of charisma, good at speeches, but overrated, over hyped and without any real substance. Just a smooth talker who tells people what they want to hear and will say anything to get your vote.
Nothing wrong with a man or woman of color winning the presidency. The key is that it should be the RIGHT man or woman, and at the right time.
This election also shows what you can achieve in America if you’ve got $600 million or more; the support of Oprah, George Lucas and Barbara Streisand, not to mention the willingness of the MSM to look the other way when it comes to asking the REAL questions. Obama has been less than candid about some things, and you’ll find out what I’m talking about if you read “The Case Against Barack Obama”. The author painstakingly cites his sources. What Obama did to Alice Palmer and his other rivals in 1996 in his first run for political office gives you some insight into how he’s very intelligent - and no different from any other politician. His tactics are shrewd. I see his skin color as a powerful marketing tool and visual metaphor. Biden standing in front of a sign with the words “Change” would not have been nearly as effective. The Dems got their main man in, and that’s the name of the game. And Obama fulfills his own personal ambitions.
The honeymoon will end within the first 6 months of the new administration as Obama and the American people deal with reality. Rumors are already circulating online that the new definition of “rich” has gone down from $250,000 to $125,000. Democrats are known for taxation and tax increases, and Obama’s definition of “rich” will have to change in order for him to achieve his stated goals. Too bad he didn’t level with the American people while campaigning. He’s also suggesting that he’ll need two terms in office to achieve his goals. He failed to mention that little tidbit while campaigning as well.
So it begins…..
@122
Obama is good at making speeches and inspiring people and raising money, but those traits do not automatically make him a natural leader or qualified to lead America as president, IMO.
I respect Orlando’s alleged respect for the environment and his desire for world peace, but the environment is a complex issue that also requires people to think about and address human population growth and jobs, as well as making some possible life style changes (he can start driving a Prius or hybrid instead of an Audi, for instance), and peace is a nice word, but one must always question at what price we want peace. Adolf Hitler could have given the world peace - in exchange for complete compliance and cooperation, not to mention more lives in addition to the six million he already took. At what price do Orlando, other celebrity entertainers and politicians like Obama want world peace? Peace is a nice sounding word and goal, but American’s fought for their freedom and for their rights back in 1776 - they didn’t fight for peace with England and King George III. They fought for and won independence. The rights, freedoms and privileges we Americans have and enjoy today all came at a price. I’m not interested in ‘peace’ if it means surrendering our identity, our Constitution, or our way of life in order to appease other nations and countries.
Obama seems like a man who wants to be popular with everyone. Does Orlando Bloom share those traits or characteristics? On the one hand, it’s nice. On the other, it’s not so nice because you never know who or what kind of person you’re really dealing with. In an American president, that trait can also be dangerous.
how convenient- got pics or it didnt happen
It doesn’t matter if he’s a british citizen. He cares about America and what happens here, and that’s all that matters.
Talkischeap. I am glad to see someone like you having thoughtful thinking among uninformed and ignorant opinions. Change is not necessary going to the better, especially with Obama’s characters and policies. Wait until our enemies attack on our vulnerable weakness, you will see what the price to pay for peace. American benefits cheap labor in oversea countries. Wait until Obama taxes on the products made in China, you pay hefty prices on consumer products. Wait until Obama will bankrupt the coal industry and oil companies so you expect pay higher cost for electricity and gasoline. For the young who are not in high income bracket, not be near to retirement, have no kids, wait until the economy collapses and you can’t find any more jobs. Wait until you have pay higher taxes on incomes, capital gain, and inheritance to spread your wealth to those who don’t even try to find work. I will cancel all my charity contribution and shield much my incomes from paying taxes so the poor who believed his words and voted for him can wait to get help from Obama. This man is out for one thing, himself and his ambition. Only the time can tell sooner than you image, I give six months as talkischeap said.
I have heard people say Hollywood is just like High School. That sounds about right considering the genreal level of emotional and intellectual maturity that exist there. The A list are the popular kids, and Orlando reminds me of someone who wants to be one of the popular crowd, so he does what they do, supports who they do, and acts like they do. Kind of like a puppy trying to get the popular kids to notice him. He has never been quite A list, and he has dropped to c list sliding in to d list, this is just his way of tyring to climb back up the bloody ladder.
Oh gosh all these celebrities get annoying when it came to voting. Hopefully they won’t open their mouths when it comes to something Obama/Biden do in the White House….like help us petition this policy!!! It’ll get so annoying.
Hey guys stop bad mouthing Orlando, he is one of the greatest people u can find.
He is British but he lives in LA so he can vote. :)
He is not gay, he has had over 13 girlfriends. Put one and one together hello.
He is 31, hes birthday is on the 13th of Jan 1977.
So stop bad mouthing him and do wat he says.
Um, idiot, get a clue, he’s British so he cannot vote in a US election unless he becomes a US citizen, and that doesn’t happen just by buying a house. He can’t even donate money to a candidate as it’s illegal for foreign nationals make contributions to any US election. He can only visit the US on a tourist visa since he hasn’t worked on over a year and doesn’t qualify for a work visa. So he’s just vacationing in LA, going to parties, picking up chicks, getting his picture taken, watching the remains of his career wash down the drain.
hes actually 31
Yes, he is originally from england. But I’m pretty sure he now lives in the U.S.; in a few years, he might have to pay taxes if he becomes a citizen. Besides, tons of other people around the world support Barack Obama; I think they see him as change for the world not just the u.s.
u guys r so irritating, america affects the whole world. so if OUR ORLANDO here supports OBAMA, will u guys stop shitting around and said “I realise everyone’s entitled to their opinion but is he even an American citizen? Does he pay taxes and vote there?”
I just put my comment on you tube. If he is not American citizen, and I think he is not, what right he has to tell American people, the citizens of America, for whom to vote. The fact that is is a kind of celebrity does not give him any right to make suggestions about that. Only people who are citizens and who are paying for the country administration have this right. I think that he lost his balance. Apologize if he is American citizen.
American people who think that the rest of the world don’t have the right to voice opinions about their county are simply naive. American culture and corporate America are drowning the rest of the world and we have to live with whatever policies your government implements too.
well what can i say what do you expect hes a gay . but i have no idea why he whuld support killing babys !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
“I’m pretty sure he is English meaning he is NOT an American. You can take your opinion and shove it, Orlando. I am so sick of foriegners telling us who to vote for. If you want to have a say in my country’s election, become a citizen. Until then, butt out.”
This is the gist of the messages here? Really? Really? We’re all global citizens. We are all entitled to speak our mind about the affairs of the world, wherever they are unfolding. Because what happens on this planet–anywhere–will affect us all. China decides to ignore another environmental regulation? Georgia invaded by Russia? World economy in flames thanks to the past eight years? Yes. This affects me, and it affects you, and I will use my voice and my rhetoric to discuss all these things to everyone capable of acting on them. Read: Everyone. That means everywhere, everywhere. A nation is not an island!
