American Idol couple David Cook and Kimberly Caldwell hold hands after sharing a romantic lunch together on Thursday afternoon in Santa Monica, Calif.
David, 25, recently sat down with EW.com to talk about his self-titled debut CD that hits stores on Tuesday, November 18th.
On his ‘rivalry’ with Idol runner-up David Archuleta: “Hopefully, because that means Archie and I are hopefully still doing well! In a sense, it’s fun that that whole rivalry thing got created. If you put me in the same sentence with David Archuleta, I’ll be fine.
On his single “Light On”: “”Light On” is an interesting song. It encompasses almost all of my range. It’s all over the place. That’s Chris Cornell at his finest. It’s got some Zeppelin influence in it; it’s got some ’80s hair-metal influence; it’s got some grunge influence. To me it’s like a rock history lesson put into about a four-minute lecture. It’s fun to play, but it is definitely an intimidating song.”
On his comparison to Daughtry: “I didn’t let it get to me on the show, and I see no reason to let it get to me afterward. I just think this record is me, and if people want to compare it to Daughtry, awesome.”

But can’t that go both ways? Just because you met someone once and talked to them for five minutes doesn’t mean that they’re nice and sweet either.
I think David rushed into the relationship. I just don’t think a woman ever pursued him as aggressively as Kim probably did, so he’s enjoying that aspect of it. I’ve come to realize that the boy just can’t be alone. He’s a serial monogamist.
If he’s happy, then good for him! We don’t have to like it, but won’t stop him from dating her. They’re going on six months already and a lot of people have been very vocal about their dislike of her.

It has to be so hard to maintain a relationship with all of the time apart that their careers required. I really wish them the very best. I think they are perfect for each other. David Cook is a smart guy. If he has picked Kimberly, there is undoubtedly a reason and she is a very lucky girl.

now seriously does it really matter who he dates or is it more immportant and follow david and try to help cancer research so possibly people will be able to get better from this awful disease like davids brother and like my older brothers friend who should be at college but now is stuck at home because of cancer
I think it’s hilarious that the people who are actually defending the girl are being called immature. “You sound like a bunch of idiots defending someone you don’t even know.” Do YOU know her? Naturally, she’ll be unfairly attacked, as if you look at the fanbase of any male celebrity, his female fans attack who he is dating. Some Justin Timberlake fans hate Jessica Biel. Some John Mayer fans hate Jennifer Aniston, etc. Do these people know Jessica or Jennifer? No.

Caldwell during American Idol said her goal in life is to be rich and famous. Go check out you tube where she talks about in a 7 part video series about her life. She will do anything to keep her name in the spotlight.

She admitted on Howard Stern that she slept with at least 10 guys.
Howard Stern’s co host said he wanted to put a dildo in her mouth to shut her up. She talks about masturbating all the time. She is a complete loser with no class.

I’m a really good friend of hers & was sent this link from someone a work who ran across the article. Most of what’s said here is pretty offensive and inaccurate.. at least applying to the person I’ve come to know. She’s very, very, very sweet and one of those people who will always be there for you. I didn’t know her when she was in high school but she’s admitted she was a troubled teen but turned her life around and has spoken out about wanting to mentor troubled teens. I’m not a big believer in writing people off due to past mistakes. As long as you learn from them, more power to you. She is also closely involved with two charities. She’s got a really good heart. And s l u t or ********* are two of the last words in the book I’d ever choose to describe her. Thought maybe it might be worth something to contribute some insight from a person who actually knows her as opposed to someone who has seen her on tv or heard an interview or who knows someone who knew her more than 8 years ago etc. etc. She’s really not the trashy devil woman some of you make her out to be. Or really anywhere close. Enjoy the fabulous karma that you’ve earned!

They look annoyed with each other in all these pics. The body language is downright hostile in the pics where they’re facing each other.
He’s “a goober from the Midwest” (his own description) who’s never dated a hot girl in his life. She’s a fizzled out reality failure who’s desperately trying to get some more fame. The goober becomes the new American Idol. She shows up with him everywhere and anywhere there’s a reporter or a camera. What a cliche.
Once his fame starts going away (or if his album tanks, whichever comes first) Kimberly Caldwell will run from him so fast, she’ll pull a hamstring. And she’ll hook up with a new reality star who can help her get some more publicity.
I’m laughing at a few of the rabid pro-Kimberly posts on here. They have got to be from Kimberly herself.
Actually, the video of this incident on the tubey tells an interesting story. The body language between those two is not good. Notice how he pulls away from Skankwell as soon as he spots the pappers. And I think she subsequently gets pissed at him.
#68, I think you are actually Kim defending yourself. However, giving you the benefit of the doubt, if she’s your friend, she will need you soon. This guy’s body language tells a clear story …and it’s not looking good for her. Honestly, every time I see those two together, he looks unhappy … stone-faced.
Light On is tanking, and so is the video. Why? Well married men aren’t sexy to many (not all) young fan girls … most of my friends are totally turned off the guy since he started dated that *****. And this translates into LOWER SALES of the goods he’s selling!!
Oh, and another thing … this is not a restaurant where the pappers hang out that much. Maybe Kimberskank tipped them off??? That would be her style. I feel sorry for David Cook. He seems unhappy … barely smiles.
Most famous people tip off the paps where they’ll be. That’s a given. If they didn’t tip them off themselves, then somebody did. Forgive me for thinking that, but almost a week prior to David’s album being released, he gets “caught” out on a lunch date with his “girlfriend”? Okay! The body languages is quite hostile. In the video, I think she’s explaining how to do valet parking. She’s kind of talking to him like he’s stupid.
Keep in mind that they really haven’t been seen out in public since after he won. Interesting.
