David Cook & Kimberly Caldwell: Still Going Strong!

He knows darn well how valet parking works … they have been out to nice restaurants before!! Not sure what your logic is regarding being out on a date with his girlfriend before the cd comes out. I think that’s detrimental to his CD sales; hence, the negative body language on his part. It’s a turn off to many many fan girls … especially since the gf is specifically Skankwell, whom so many people dislike since Season 2.
Low Light On sales … I think many fan girls have abandoned him. I’m still hanging in, but slowly dwindling away as a fan girl (my friends too!!).

Obviously, something about those two works to last this long. If it’s meant to be, it will be. I don’t get wasting time tearing the girl down, though. I don’t think that’s going to speed anything up. And anyone who doesn’t buy someone’s music because of who they are dating has the mentality of a fifth grader. And that’s probably overshooting their maturity just a bit. If you like the music, who the f cares? He’s probably better off without the crazy tweens (or their IQ/maturity level equivalents) in his fanbase that feel like they should be able to have some input over other aspects of his life, anyway. If his CD is good, it will do fine because 99.8% of the music buying population is not influenced that much by who he’s dating.

I actually disagree and think Light On isn’t that great of a song. David’s vocals are good but it’s not a strong song. Way better material was on Analog Heart. I get the cringe factor from it, as well. Because he’s capable of so much better. TOML did amazing on the charts and still gets decent play and this relationship has been public since its release so blaming bad sales on Kimberly doesn’t really make sense across the board, IMO. I think the sales are due to people just not gravitating towards this song unfortunately. And I think he may be in trouble with his album for not releasing a stronger single first. I sure hope there’s better material than LO on his album. If there’s more songs on there closer to what he’s capable of bringing, I think it will be a huge success and there’s no way who he’s dating can stop that from happening.

It may be turning his fangirl fanbase off, but he’s going to get loads of male fans because of his “hot girlfriend”. Sure, some men might like his music first, but once they see that an average Midwesterner has some good music and a trophy girlfriend, they might think he’s cool and support everything he does.

You have to think like you work in PR. The restaurant they’re at isn’t known for having a lot of paps hanging out there. Kim is also about to do that show for Diddy in January. In other words, I’m saying this date was a set up.

The board is becoming so popular, I think it may have crashed

People have said in the past: “Why do you call her an attention wh*re when they’ve maintained a low profile since he won the contest?” I say it’s because the payoff (for her not him) is going on right now and in future if he does well with the CD. Examples: SNL and after-party; hard rock cafe NY; etc etc. She gets herself some exposure, networking with executives; it enhances her career. So she was very patient for 5 months, put out a little … but now’s the big payoff!
Trust his judgment you say ??? He’s 25 … the judgment coming from which head, I ask?

cook seems like a smart guy i think he can take care of himself and i think if there was something up with her davids family or friends would tell him but it looks like they like her

first off, let me make one thing clear: like a lot of the people posting here, i do not like kim caldwell. she is nothing but trash, & i feel it’s only a matter of time before she is out of david’s life for good. now on to what i’m about to say: did you people ever think that the reason david’s cd sold as much as it did is because there were other artists releasing albums that day? think about it. beyonce released her album “i am…..sasha firece” & nickelback released their album “dark horse” on that day as well. also after talking to some people who know more then i do on stuff like this, david’s cd was projected to sell between 280,000-300,000 which considering the state of the music industry these days is pretty good IMO. his cd did sell(and i’m only estimating here)283,000+ so IMO he did great considering the stiff competetion he had. that is all.

Kristie, I respect what you are saying, but David could have done better. Caldwell killed the buzz. Idol anticipated him to be the best Idol winner yet. Caldwell was never popular…

Cook could never get a girl that looked like Caldwell before which is why he ignoring her faults and obnoxious behavior. She is also on her best behavior because he is spending money left and right on her.

Looks like I was on target with Cook’s sales, and that was before I saw the prediction. Sorry no excuse, with all the excitement of him winning, he should have sold more. Him dating Caldwell has taken the focus off him…..and his music.

There are more people in this thread that despise Caldwell than like her.

Cook is being seen as insecure and that is a poor trait to have in the industry.

Contrary to some of your beliefs, I am not basing my opinions on jealously or thinking I could date him. Please. I am also basing my opinion of KC on what I knew and saw of her before David Cook even knew what Idol was. He needs to see that he can have lots of girls now and not naively date the first ***** that came after him. Of course she’s on her best behavior now but you know she would love to be seen and gloating like she did on the finale night. Maybe she has changed but he can still do so much better. She still looks raunchy and trashy. I am still a big fan of his and hope he has a great career, but I don’t want to see pics of her or hear her loud ,obnoxious , illiterate mouth.

I’ll tell you what the problem is here. I am in my late 20’s, engaged and don’t give a hoot about David Cook as boyfriend material. I think he is grungy looking, is a dork, and is fat and on his way to going bald.

I see many of you make up names here to repeat yourselves, trust me it has had an effect on his sales, and the buzz of him winning the show. You should hear some of the morning DJ’s, they think it’s laughable that he is dating a season 2 D List contestant. He should have stepped outside of Idol and immersed himself with young hollywood just to get his image out there first.

Kim Caldwell is a tramp and a money hungry w h ore.

When Idol goes off the air, she will have no job…she is not getting any gigs even now…just look at her calendar on her myspace…nothing.

You don’t think she is worried about that? Of course she is..so she is going to latch on the latest winner of Idol who is a major fool, for wasting his time with this chick.

(no talent) so now she is going to try and put it out thinking Cook will back her… Trust me it won’t sell. She doesn’t come across likeable, but annoying. She is fake, and she longs to be rich and famous, her own words.

Yeah, she is a cute bleached blond that blends in with every other Hollywood s k a n k….but she is arm candy, and that is it. No brains.
She is street smart, and that is it and has only Idol experience.

I read a comment where someone said, Justin Timberlake had class to date a classy girl like Jessica Biel, Mayer dating Aniston, she is liked, Tony dating Carrie and now Jessica…but for David Cook dating a former contestant who went no where…. spells Loser. He continues to associate himself with Idol by dating her…and he is losing credibility.

Also, in 5 years, just look at Caldwell’s myspace, she only has like what 16,000 friends, in those years… doesn’t speak highly of her at all.

David Cook gave the perception that he had brains, well, his brains sure are not in the right head…
