OlderBeyonce To Play Wonder Woman?
Beyonce has expressed her Amazonian ambitions, telling the LA Times that she wants to be the first black Wonder Woman. In fact, she’s already in talks with DC Comics and Warner Bros!
She tells the paper, “I want to do a superhero movie and what would be better than Wonder Woman? It would be great. And it would be a very bold choice. A black Wonder Woman would be a powerful thing. It’s time for that, right?”
Beyonce continues, “After doing these roles that were so emotional (Dreamgirls, Cadillac Records) I was thinking to myself, ‘OK, I need to be a superhero.’ Although, when you think about the psychology of the heroes in the films these days, they are still a lot of work, of course, and emotional. But there’s also an action element that I would enjoy.”
As for costuming, Beyonce wants to stick to the original: “I would definitely have to keep it right for that costume. The way that Lynda Carter wore it, she was sooo fine. She was amazing. I saw her costume at the Met. Her waist was unbelievable. It was pretty crazy, actually, her proportions. But I love Wonder Woman and it’d be a dream come true to be that character. It sure would be handy to have that lasso. To make everybody tell the truth? I need that. It would come in very handy.”
If America’s ready for a black President, maybe a black Wonder Woman isn’t so far off.

Isn’t Linda Carter half Mexican? I agree with the people who say Wonder Woman is an icon and shouldn’t be tampered with. If they were going to do that, get someone else. Beyonce can’t act her way out of a paper bag.

George Miller (the director of Happy Feet) has already purchased the rights to a Wonder Woman movie and has already cast Megan Gale (ex-Supermodel) in the role. The movie was due to start filming a year or so ago but filming was suspended due to the writers strike.

Why is it racist if you look at skin color to exclude someone but not the other way if you only look at skin color to include someone, they can’t have it both ways, if you take out the fact the she has darker skin pigmentation then some people because she probably lighter skin and with her blond hair then a lot of people who consider themselves white there would be no reason for her to get the part, she is not famous enough to carry a major movie on the other hand she is not an unknown that would peg peoples interest , she isn’t a good enough actor to get the part for her acting abilities, so after America just elected a mixed race black man to the most powerful office in the world, and after a black women who not only is the richest women in America but also one of the most powerful help get him there, we have to her from millionaire Beyonce that because she is black she should be able to play the part of an iconic charter in a movie, has if there was no black role models and it would be a service to the public, talk about self serving.

Kill Me Know and Mlle, there were/are 2 WW movies. Megan Gale was tapped to play WW in the Justice League movie, which is now stalled, indefinitely.
The 2nd movie–scheduled for 2009/2011 has also been stalled due to Josh Whedon quiting. Whedon wanted Colbie Smulders from How I met Your Mother for the part and Joel Silver had wanted Jessica Biel, bot neother could agree. Silver also specified that he wanted someone between early 20s and mid-20s for the part who is at least 5′8′.
Both movies have stalled indefintely.
