OlderEllen Page’s Dark Defiance
Ellen Page spends her last day at the AFI Film Festival 2008 at the premiere of Defiance, held at the Arclight Theatre in Hollywood on Sunday.
The 21-year-old Juno star recently finished working on Whip It! and will appear in an upcoming film called Peacock.
Peacock is a psychological thriller that evolves around Cillian Murphy’s character who has a split personality. Page plays a struggling young mother who holds the key to his past and sparks a battle between the personalities.
“This is one of the boldest screenplays I’ve come across in my albeit short career,” Page said of Peacock. “It’s a character and story I can throw myself into and exactly the type of movie I love to be a part of.”

I was gonna say pretty much the same thing, #6. Glad to see she’s moving past the ’slacker’ look for premieres. She’s too cute to be wasting it on the garb she had been wearing.
I just saw Juno the other night on cable and I thought she was amazing in it. I haven’t seen this kind of talent in a long long time. Wow. It didn’t seem like the type of movie I wanted to see when it came out, but now I am so glad I did.

She was so beautiful. Several months back, I managed to see An American Crime and it was a heart-shattering film. She’s also great in Hard Candy and of course, Juno!

she is sooo pretty and such a great actress. i like that she very obviously chooses her films wisely. she does films that she believes in, not ones that will necessarily make big money.
