OlderHayden Christensen & Rachel Bilson: Farm House Happy
Hayden Christensen and girlfriend Rachel Bilson go up a construction boom lift and check in on the progress of the new farmhouse they are having built in Uxbridge, Ontario on Sunday.
Accompanying the couple in Canada was Hayden’s mom, Alie. The trio then went to the bank and then did some early Christmas shopping.
“I recently acquired a farm north of Toronto,” Hayden has said. “And I just bought a big excavator and a dump truck and a bobcat – construction toys. I plan to start building soon. I can’t wait to go out there and move dirt and get my hands dirty. It’s currently a hay farm, but I want it to be a working farm. I want to fill the barn with livestock. First pigs, then cattle and horses. Get some sheep, some goats. Maybe an alpaca.”
He has also spoken of planting lavender fields: “It doesn’t require much maintenance, but apparently it’s a b—- to harvest, because you have to cut it all by hand.”

I agree, it would have been too early even six months ago. Although I had long started to doubt about his personality as his image and actual doings did not fit together, like so many other fans I still used to defend him back then. Well, times change, and thank goodness the human being is an adaptive creature, at least most of them are. ;-)

I know this seems kinda general, but there are some Hayden fans out there this is not directed to…
One of the things i love about being a Rachel fan is that we don’t get too worked up about what she says or does…
We like her no matter what, we don’t judge(that much) , not her, nor the person she is with, we may not like the guy(and this is any guy she would date, not Hayden especifically), but we don’t trash him, we may not approve(not that we feel intitled to judge).
At the end of the day, we trust the education her parents gave her, and her 27 years to help her make the right decisions in her life, wether professionally or privately…
And most importantly we don’t attack each other…

These people are not fans, this is called “the public”, and I read that there were some problems between the public and his films.
Is Hayden stupid? Maybe but I don’t think so. He seems to be very immature and insecure. This boyishness was part of his appeal. What worked when he was younger does not work now. Maybe that is why he has not turned in a good performance in years. He doesn’t have the maturity to carry off an adult role. On screen he always looks like he needs to saved by someone.
His comments and actions totally contradict each other. He wants people to see his movies but be uninterested in him as a person. Its human nature to want to know. As a sometime fan I find his attitude towards us (his fans) disturbing. Public opinion, in his job, is everything. Him saying that he doesn’t care what people think is irresponsible. If he continues to alienate his fans he may find that he has none left. Judging by the comments here that is what is happening. I’ve watched hardcore fans turn indifferent to him.
As to his love life, he is inexperienced in how to deal with that publicly. If he would open up a little he might find that people would care less. Even Johnny Depp, who as a huge star has more reason than Hayden to hide his private life, acknowledges his girlfriend. This whole maybe/maybe not thing with Rachel could have been avoided. It certainly would have made him seem more honest and less shady.
First of all am a big hayden fan since sw1 and i wont stop being a fan until i die.he is such a sweet guy and funny o ya and smokin hott.i lyk adam brody but come on hayden iz way beta.and he was nominated 4 a golden globe wich means hes a good actor.and if he lyks 2 drink good for him let him enjoy his life.i dont really see whats hes doing wrong apart from living his life.and as you grow older you do change.hence you dont see him going out that much anymore.and let him go out with anyone he wants.if he didnt lyk he wudnt b wit her wud he?

It is nice to hear your opinion about hayden as a fan.People do change as they grow older. Ido not expect hayden to be the same guy as he was like 21 or what. He was a kid then, with an innocent charm. Now he is a man , thinking perhaps to settle down and have a family of his own. I think his fans should accept that.

Thanks Kate I’ll be sure to pass that on to anyone who has been rejected, dumped or involved in a relationship that did not work–most of the population must be morons. BTW you don’t know if Sienna dumped Hayden or the other way around-because neither of them have said anything.
@Gasol no offense was meant, just wanted to know if you were OK, I’m happy for you that everything is fine. You and I can share our different ideas and although I don’t agree with you, or you to me I think we may be able to discuss without having a go at each other.
However:
Smilehex it would take 2 pages to point things out to you because you are so closed minded, perhaps one day you will understand that Hayden did nothing to you, other than being a 27 year old guy, perhaps you should have not held in so high regard to start with.
Guys mature much later than girls, with Hayden he was still very much a boy when making SW2, he has life experience now and has grown up and with that,attitude towards things change. At 19 Hayden said he was not interested in a relationship, still lived at home etc. At 24/25 his attitude changed towards that, he had flings and did things people did not understand-he got a life that was his. He was still learning and like most made mistakes. He still was not in the Paps eyes in the USA or Canada, but was caught overseas.
Sienna changed that-my god he was caught holding her, kissing her, taking her to lunch and dinner sounds like a typical relationship. He was stretching his legs. JMO but Sienna was not good for him and it’s just a thought but I think he found that out and learnt form it.
That was really the first time we all saw candids of Hayden, because before he was a hermit at home in between acting. Hayden has said in interviews that he does not like to talk about relationships that in fact he will deny them(that’s not a lie) that’s trying to protect privacy as much as possible. Does anyone here go shopping walk up to a complete stranger and ask who they are sleeping with? Yet some on the board would ask Hayden that question and expect an answer. No wonder he does not wish to discuss it.
Some here complain that HC/RB dont walk together, don’t hold hands, dont kiss every 5 min etc-this is not a normal relationship with cameras around you waiting to snap every shot but I would assume that in private they act like any other couple.
Hayden shows up unshaven and some of you react like the world is going to end.
As for Rachel stealing designs, like I typed before on another thread someone call the Levi company because lots of places in the world must have stolen the idea of Jeans.
For the Haters, you have an opinion fine, but instead of turning around and bashing 2 people you don’t know try to look at something positive for instant neither one has made a spectacle of themselves, in fact in the last 2 years both have done nothing but stuck to the whole “I’m happy”/”I don’t like to discuss it”/”He is a nice guy”/”She is a sweet girl” etc .

This is a scary thread. Let me start by saying that I’m am not a “fan” of either one of these actors. I am an avid movie goer and as such I have seen most of their movies. I checked the numbers for the last film these two did together (Jumper) and was impressed to see that it grossed nearly a quarter of a billion dollars worldwide… that’s billion with a B. (before DVD sales)
Out of all of the people who paid money to see that movie, I would venture to say that probably less than 100 individuals care if these two are a couple or even keep track of their comings and goings on a monthly basis. Most people only think about actors when their movie is about to be released.
So for those of you who really believe that fans’ opinions of their private life will in any way have an affect on these actors’ bank accounts or will affect their lives in any way, well I think you need to come back to planet Earth. After reading this thread, if I were an actor I would be overjoyed if these types of “fans” left my ticket-buying audience forever. No actor could ever want obsessed followers like this.

Check some of your haters (like Kate) because I remember her telling someone a while ago (before she fell off the face of the earth) that Hayden owed her EVERYTHING. Sit down and have a talk with her. And no baby I ain’t been a teen for years. Physically, Hayden is a man. I’m not talking about that pathetic thing on his face I’m talking about everything else. The chest hair, shoulders, voice, outline od his face, etc….. Like I said before YOU DON”T F*CKING KNOW HIM! Like every celeb he feeds interviewsers a load of crap about his personal life because it has nothing to do with his movies. What is so difficult to understand about that? And my point about the public is that people are still going to watch him. There are a lot of people out there that don’t even know him but they will watch his movies which leads me to believe he ain’t going nowhere any time soon. A lot of people prefer to watch movies without knowing anything about the actor/actress because it’s easier to enjoy. Dwell on that for a minute. By all means, call me a Hayden fan but please not a ‘Rayden’.

I don’t remember Hayden ever getting caught being drunk or doing heroin. I actually don’t remember him doing anything displeasing to the eye but hanging out with his friends and family. He doesn’t stumble out of bars and clubs uffed up and he doesn’t date every single chick out there. How has he done something that would make anyone call him out and spread rumors? I wasn’t saying that he had the right to lie (in actuality he does, everyone does) but that he is human so he will just like everyone else.
All I’m really saying is just give him a break. You liked him once upon a time. He really doesn’t seem so bad. Honestly, neither does RB. She sure is ten times better than that Sienna girl. And Natalie doesn’t count he never dated her. More importantly, if you guys genuinely don’t like this guy find someone you do like and focus on them for a while. Besides, when it comes down to it I think we’re more arguing back and forth over nothing. I think the haters forgot why they were really hating and the pros or fans forgot why they were defending. It just seems to have gotten way out of hand.

I come on this site occasionally and read the articles on celebrities I like, and this is the first time I have read any of the comments, and I can’t believe all the mean things some people post for people to read on the internet. What has this couple done that is so awful? They aren’t out getting arrested for DUI or possession of drugs, checking in & out of rehab, or being draped all over each other to the point of vulgarity in public places, as several young actors have been known to do. Their worst crimes seem to be being in love, spending time together, having their pictures taken, and not talking about the fact that they are dating.
I remember an interview Hayden did on Etalk in late March 2007, where he said he and Rachel were “not romantically linked”. I also read an article somewhere from April 2007 Rachel did where she said she did not have a boyfriend then. They were obviously friends when Jumper ended, then were seen together after Jumper ended. It is possible that they decided to start dating after these interviews were given, and then became more serious about one another with time. If their feelings for one another change with time, that does not mean they were lying when they made those statements back then. As a previous poster stated, people change, no one stays the same.
What difference does it make if they are dating or not? They should be able to live their lives just like everyone else does.
I understand this is a gossip site, and people are entitled to express their opinions. But it is possible to make comments about your dissappointment/dislikes without being cruel. The hate on here is really amazing, especially wishing someone is unable to have children if they want them. The posts around 160 to 161 or so, voice of reason & outsider, seem to have similar thoughts to some of the posts on this thread. I don’t plan to ever read any comments again, I will just stick to reading the articles on this site, that way I won’t have to see people bashing other people for being human beings, whether they are celebrities or not

Hayden seemed far more mature in younger years than he does now, as well as in his comments as his actions. Obviously he moves “in a reverse mode” in his development. Sad but so it seems.
It was more than obvious that SM dumped him, and not the other way round. There are pictures soon afterwards in which his face said everything. He had followed her even to London in the trial to hold her but couldn’t. Not that she was a loss, I agree to that opinion some people stated here, but for him it was painful. And he started to change very much after this.
And there were many candids of him out and about, through all the years. Photo documentary of this is still to be found on his biggest fan site. He was not living like a hermit, maybe for a few weeks after “SW2″ and “SW3″ were at the movies but not for all the time.
RB’s fashion theft is a fact and nothing which can be discussed. That other firms do it too, I rely on your word here, as I don’t know, does not make it any better. It’s another thing showing who she is.

Of course people change. It’s said that about all seven years another change is coming to most of us. That includes tastes in colors, music, movies etc. as well.
But basic traits stay. If somebody tends to tell lies, he won’t change that, just as an example.

Whenever you defenders don’t know what to say to his favor you come with “but he has no DUI, was not caught taking drugs” etc. I have never mentioned he would do stuff like that, not once. In the opposite, I’ve always stated that without proof I won’t say such things about him.
But there are many other things which can be bad traits about a person. Just taking no drugs or not be a regular drinker does not make somebody saint.
And I was also never one of those fans who wanted to see him with Natalie Portman, so I won’t talk about this either.

Oh please, she was feeding him in all public already mid March 2007! Plus she offered him her pizza and flirted around with him already in Rome end of 2006 as “Jumper” was made. Picture proof is all around the net. And back then she still had (another) boyfriend BTW, but the beginning of them as a couple was more than obvious already back then. I think they are together since Rome, which is also a reason why she moved out of Brody’s house right after returning to L.A.
So of course they lied in all those interviews, and always again. No excuse for that.
And I don’t hate them. I just say that I’m a disappointed ex-fans and present my reasons for it.
And as for them hopefully not having children, that’s not hateful, but thinking about these kids as they would live their life in a fishbowl just like Gasol_fan16 has stated it so descriptive. I think parents need responsibility and have to be able to manage their own lives before they involve a third - helpless - being. JMO. In neither one of those two I can see that. They travel around all the time, and they are photographed for basically no reason (like e.g. a new movie would be). They only care about themselves. RB is a fashion addict, some boots are more important to her than a world miracle right behind her (see “Jumper”-promotion videos).
He’s never around to care for his pigs, she leaves Thurmen Murmen behind all the time… so many things to observe.
I don’t see these two people as good parents, that’s all. I didn’t wish them to get ill or something, and I surely never would. I just thought about the child in this case.

The lowest thing you have done is to wish harm on an future child regardless of it being part of HC/RB or perhaps someone else, that is so low. you asked why I was upset with you-it’s because you make comments like that, and then try to say sorry, well I’m sorry you crossed the line, to even speak of an unborn child(not even concieved) shows the type of person you are. You should have made no comment at all.
As for the pigs at the farm I’m sure they are looked after, as for thurman he seems very happy to see Mum and seems to know Hayden very well.

Sometimes by NOT having/adopting something (not meant as a thing in this way) like children, pets etc. is the very best thing in order to PROTECT them.
I am the very first one to say that children, animals (not that I see them equal but both of high value) and anybody else who is helpless shall be protected. That’s exactly WHY I say that some people better shouldn’t have children/pets/whatever if it’s obvious that they are already overstrained with themselves and/or their own lives.
In the movie called “Parenthood” there was once a very clever sentence about it: “You have to do a driving license, you even need a license to catch a fish, but every idiot can have a child.” or similar to that. A wise speech indeed.
I’m so disappointed in you, VOR, as you always seemed to be intelligent, paranoid somehow and prosecuting people for no real reason, but you still made some sense when it came to protecting family values - now not even that anymore. Since when did we compare children with our pets? I almost garauntee one would treat their child better then their pet anyday. Not only that HC has said (I’m not sure why Smile hexe doesn’t seem to know this) that he has family looking after his place and animals. I think his sister lives there or something. And you also act like RB can’t get her mom or a friend or something to look after Thermen Murmen while she’s away. Even if they weren’t together they’re still actors which means they don’t spend all their time at home so they won’t always be the one to take care of their pet. And that goes for any celeb. I mean your whole theory is just out the window!
You know what girl? You still haven’t said what the hell he has done that was so freakin wrong. The most I’ve seen is he smokes. He doesn’t exactly care to be a role model. And that’s something he has said since day one. You have no busniess investing so much into him to where if he failed to carry out something it would drive you to saying he would be an irresponsible father. Who the hell are you? Really? It’s the same when you felt you could talk about his mother’s parenting skills (just because he’s dating Bilson). There is just a boundary and his family is one of them. I don’t feel low or stupid for my comments at all, just so you know. Sometimes abdication for something (someone in this matter) is the better way and shows real maturity. Just because we human wish something does not mean we should automatically get it, even if we could, I’m talking about the cases when pure selfishness is the base of a wish, like in this case. RB probably sees all the headlines other actresses/starlets receive when pregnant and showing their kids around and wants the same for herself now. If that’s a good thing for a possible child is a totally different question.
And how do you know that RB & HC would be good parents in fact? Just the same question than you asked me, the other way round? How do you know, hm? From my observations they are absolutely not appropriate, none of them.
And as an example from my life: I love dogs. I used to have dogs when we lived in a house with garden and somebody was home while I was at work. Now I live in an apartment and the dog would be alone all day. So I kept my last dog until she died a natural way and then was far-seeing enough not to take another one, although this would be something I would wish very much. But I don’t want to have a dog suffer just for my own selfishness. Get it? No? Probably not…
As for not watching his movies, I’ve made my consequences already, don’t worry. “Awake” for example will be sold here from 12. Dec. and I had it pre-ordered. It’s canceled already, as I refuse supporting him any longer. I also didn’t go to the movies to see “Jumper”.

It was never jealousy. And I’ve told you (and others) often before that is was not about that.
Plus, I don’t hate him. He shall lead his life, just not expect to be admired for it anymore (at least not by me).
And read the post correctly: I extra pointed out “they (children and pets) are NOT equal”. But the responsibility for another living being is given in both cases, and it’s really easy to take pets and hand them over to other people afterwards who do the work and take care for them. Very easy, but not how it is supposed to be, at least not IMO. If I take a responsibility I TAKE CARE OF IT MYSELF afterwards, and for the all the many years it might take.
Of course I know that the pigs were taken care of (and even by whom, not his sister, LOL), and Thurmen Murmen too. But that’s not the same thing, as just dogs are totally concentrated on their owners and suffer a lot when he/she is not around, and I talk of experience. My dog was with me, 24/7, and she enjoyed that a lot, me too. With the dogs I had before her this was not possible and they cried each time I left the house.
The behavior of RB/HC towards their pets shows one thing for sure: They take things and when they get “inconvenient” or cross their (e.g. travel) plans they quickly put them aside. Right now it are their pets. Do you want that for their children too? And I know an actor has to travel or some parent can get ill but those are situations, with these two it’s a common habit which happens all the time, and for no real reason as well.
