Kate Winslet is Playhouse Pretty
Kate Winslet honors legendary actor Eli Wallach, who was with his wife Anne Jackson, at the Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre 80th Anniversary Gala and Reunion at NYC’s Tavern on the Green on Sunday.
The 33-year-old British actress reportedly is furious that photographer Steven Meisel, who shot her recent Vanity Fair pictures, lied to her about the fur on the set. Kate was under the impression she was posing nude on fake fur, but it turns out the fur was real. A spokeswoman for the magazine has apologized for the miscommunication.

OMG how cute. In the Holiday they have a big scene where thet honor this actor. Life imitating the movie. I love Kate. She does look a bit older for her age but I applaud her for never using botox and baing comfortable in her own skin. She’s still gorgeous.

Like I wrote elsewhere I love and respect Kate immensely and am so relieved that she is anti-fur. Nevertheless I find it pretty hard to understand how she didn’t know that was real fur. I’m not suggesting she lied, only that even on paper those dead skins were so obvious. Fur belongs on animals. Period. End of story.
#9, what do you expect from a magazine like Vanity Fair? REALITY? :| Of course not - all magazines are photoshopped so its obviously fake. Kate’s real….I don’t know why mags have to airbrush her! What can possibly be wrong with the way she looks? Leave her be! Real and all! And she WAS classy in the Vanity Fair shots. What’s the issue? Nudity? She’s done it many times in movies before. Have people been living in caves until now?
Kate looks gorgeous and fresh in these pictures. Nice simple black dress, hair pulled back, happy as can be. She’s one of the definitions of classy. And yes I have seen the Vanity Fair shots - nudity isn’t ’******

Can you say jealous? lmao. Winslet is one of the warmest actresses in hollywood. Ever see her in an interview? Nothing cold about this woman. And Charlize Theron seems really cool too. Agree about Paltrow though
Kate Winslet is beautiful and talented and smart and a down to earth mother. I can’t think of a single bad thing to say about this woman. Give me Winslet over botox faced Nicole Kidman or media wh$)e Angelina Jolie anyday. I’ll see anything with her in it.
And ofcourse in the Vanity Fair shoot she was going to look different because she wasn’t supposed to look like herself dummies, like Catherine Deneuve. You people also don’t get that the angles she was lying on was one that is flattering and she had a big coat over her body on the cover. You also don’t get that a lot of what goes into photos is makeup and lighting and angles. She wasn’t airbrushed anymore than anyone else. And it’s a classy shoot. Shut up idiots.
I doubt she was unaware that she was lying on real fur. Fake furs may be hard to spot in pics. but the texture is a dead give away (no pun intended).
If a lowly pleb. like myself can tell faux fur from real I’m sure a sophisticated actress with access to fabulous wardrobes would know the difference. She probably started catching hell from PETA and thought it was better to plead ignorance. I know I would. those guys are rabid asshats.
As much as I dislike PETA, I find it incredibly hard to believe she didn’t know the fur was real. I used to be a HUGE, HUGE, HUGE Kate admirer but practically every day I am finding new reasons to dislike her. Somehow she always makes herself out to be the victim and I am incredibly tired of it.

Janie, please speak for yourself. She may be an inspiration for you but not for every woman myself included. My aspirations of life are certainly higher than that stupid. You come here and you blab a lot without indept of the subject in question, you base your inspirations on dresses, make up and shoes.

I’m so grossed out by the majority of these comments. Can you guys get it through your thick skulls that she doesn’t walk onto those photoshoots as HERSELF? She walks in and has to sell the magazine - it’s Vanity Fair, not Good Housekeeping so she won’t be pictured sitting on a chair in jeans and a t-shirt. It’ll have a more fashion-y feel to it. Also keep in mind that she pays homage to Catherine Deneuve - those pictures are the exact same as Catherine from ‘Belle de Jour’. It’s a French film - I didn’t expect most people here to know what the hell it was or who Catherine is in the first place so whatever. That explains why Kate doesn’t look more like Kate. She’s not meant to in the first place.
Can I just say that there’s fake fur out there that can be passed for real fur? Stuff like that happens. Photographers especially can be very sketchy with that stuff.
The jealousy that I’m feeling across these posts is annoying beyond belief. Shut up, get a life, and go pick on a REAL ***** who did nothing but make sex tapes and date certain people just to get famous. Kate is a classy, talented woman and she’s pretty strong willed too. So she wouldn’t give a sh!t about what anyone thinks about her. Because she knows who she is. She’s not unsure of herself. And that to me is a positive role model for EVERY woman out there. She doesn’t deserve these stupid Vanity Fair complaints. The airbrushing/fake fur thing has this much of an effect on your life? Get over yourselves.
And on top of that, people are complaining that she looks old?! Give me a break. Most actresses fill their faces with botox to look 20 years younger, and those images are shoved down our throats courtesy of the media. No wonder people think she looks way older. As soon as we see a woman who looks like a real woman, who is natural and hasn’t had any work done, people attack her. God forbid the woman has half a wrinkle. She smokes too by the way so it’s not like she’s aging rapidly.
