Angelina Jolie is Always Mom-Centric
Angelina Jolie takes her maternal identity seriously and told the LA Times lots of interesting tidbits about her life:
On her life’s focus: “The center of my life is my kids.”
On life just hours before presenting an award to Clint Eastwood: “I woke up at 3 in the morning with four kids with jet lag and two babies. I put myself together for a few hours and go out. And then I go home. This is my job.”
On no signs of settling down in Hollywood: “I don’t dislike it here. I just really do love to travel. I love other cultures. And I love raising my kids in the world. I’m so fortunate that I get to do that.”
On Changeling helping her get pregnant with twins Knox and Vivienne: “I got pregnant right in the middle of [filming] and I think partially because of it. I was so emotional about children that I think something in me kicked into gear.”

Former Friends Star Continues Team Aniston Recruitment Tour
We get it: you love Angelina Jolie. Whenever we here at Dose.ca dare to question the behaviour of your favourite globe-trotting, orphan-coveting, knife-collecting global saviour, you flood our inboxes with hate mail and death threats. (BTW, we asked you to stop using our work address, Mom.) And we understand, we really do. Jolie is like Mother Theresa, Meryl Streep and that hot girl from your dirtiest fantasy all rolled into one. But there’s another actress out there who’s desperate for just a sliver of the rapt devotion you shower on the Womb Raider. And, seeing as she’s been working so hard to win us over that she might be on the verge of straining something, it behooves us to pay attention. It’s the polite thing to do.
Jennifer Aniston topped off her week-long sympathy tour (which included a tell-all Vogue interview and a guest stint on 30 Rock) by stopping by her BFF’s couch for a heart-to-heart chat. In a new interview with Oprah Winfrey on Wednesday, the former Friends star dished about her failed marriage, her film career and her relationship with John Mayer.
When asked about why she called Jolie’s past behaviour “really uncool” in the new issue of Vogue, Aniston told Oprah: “I basically just answered it as honestly as I could,” reports People.
In the interview, which airs Thursday, Aniston also opened up about her relationship with John Mayer (”I’ve been unbelievably lucky in love”), laughed off pregnancy rumours, and offered kind words for ex-hubby Brad Pitt.
“He’s done some amazing things in the last couple of years. So I just think he’s doing great,” she gushed.
(Pitt may not be feeling the love. A source tells the Chicago Sun-Times that he called Aniston to complain after news of the Vogue interview surfaced.)
Meanwhile, when Oprah mentioned that Pitt’s new movie, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, is opening the same day her upcoming film, Marley and Me, Aniston shrugged off talk of competition.
“We all want our movie to do well … Can we have a tie?” she said, reports People.
Well Jen, seeing as his movie is already garnering serious Oscar buzz and costars the unbelievably talented Cate Blanchett, while your movie is based on chick lit and costars a golden retriever, we’re guessing no. But your movie poster will probably be 66% cuter. That’s gotta count for something, right?

Check out Changeling this weekend if you have not seen it
Eastwood’s direction is first rate as is the performance of Jolie. She allows the audience to ride along with her on an emotional roller coaster.
John Malkovich also turns in an outstanding performance as The Rev. Gustav Briegleb, a crusader who uses his radio show to expose corruption.
This film is good and well worth seeing, although it’s not a great movie. While the performances and direction are solid, the movie does bog down in a few places. That can happen when real stories are brought to the screen.
Still, Eastwood attempts to move the story along and generally succeeds.
In the end, Eastwood and Jolie give us a powerful and thoughtful film that, while not always easy to watch, is entertaining.
Yeah, guli………I get it. I’d like to tie her down and shave her head Britney style and see if that wouldn’t force her to quickly develop a personality.
She’s going to be like Goldie and Dyan Cannon….blanket in your face into your sixties and seventies. Imagine if that average face just hung out with the mop to distract????

The sad thing about it is that whenever a female star follows ___’s lead, it always end in disaster. Just look at Jessica Simpson and Britney Spears… they tried projecting an image of confidence by ‘playing the field’ immediately after their breakups. The result? Jessica screwed around with douchebags (Mayer!) and Britney screwed around with douchebags and came unhinged, temporarily (fingers crossed).
And let’s not forget the neverending baby talk…
guli @ 11/13/2008 at 7:01 pm
Hiya Guli, she should read some Buddish book, and learn how to let go, it is not healthy for her. She may have a little satisfaction on making Angie looks bad, but she is the loser here.

Clint Eastwood on Changeling: Angelina Jolie ‘a fine actress hampered by beauty’
Last Updated: 4:01pm GMT 13/11/2008
lthough he prefers to cast unknowns in supporting roles, Eastwood chose Jolie as his star because, he said, “she reminds me a lot of the actresses from the Golden Age of movies in the ’40s.
“She’s been on the cover of so many magazines in recent years and she is hampered by having one of the most beautiful faces around, so sometimes people tend to overlook that she is a really fine actress and a terrific talent.
“I’ve worked with some really good actresses in my career and I don’t think any of them ever came any more prepared than she did.”
Anyone who works with Clint Eastwood had better be prepared. Having directed more than 30 movies, he is a master of the art of economical shooting. He limits rehearsals to a minimum to achieve a more authentic feel in the performances and he rarely shoots more than one take of any scene.
“Everything I do as a director is based upon what I prefer as an actor,” he says.
sorry, ‘without’ the mop

TV commercial at site.
The latest TV spot for the world’s hottest backwards aging baby is out along with a glowing review from Variety. The back-and-forth around David Fincher’s flick is driving me a bit mad, we’ve heard reports of that BB is confusing and long winded, now we’re hearing that the flick deserves a basket full of Oscars. While I must admit that the trailers are gorgeous and the score is catchy I’m not sure what to do with Variety’s “four quadrant art film” review.
I can’t remember the last time I heard someone call a movie “magic” and “life-affirming” but according to Variety’s write-up, that’s what Fincher is delivering. Then again I don’t really trust anyone who would use the word “magic” and isn’t talking about Wizards. Here’s a little part of the review:
It’s magic realism propelled by extraordinary filmmaking technology but it’s not remotely what I’d call cold. It creates a world of oddities and wonderful, off-kilter characters but the whole piece is anchored by a decades long relationship that gets strained, frayed, breaks and rebuilds into something profound and moving.
The achievement is big and bold and ambitious and life-affirming, but the sentimentality is always toughened by the continual sense of loss and deep sadness at the transitory nature of the human condition. If it sounds like an art movie, it absolutely is, but it’s a four quadrant art film!…
Whole bunch of Oscar noms across the board in all the major and tech categories, would seem almost certain noms for Pitt and Blanchett, Fincher, Roth, Dp, editor, etc etc. There are so many supporting roles that it will be hard to sort out noms in those categories, but if I had to call out one, it would be Jason Flemyng as Benjamin’s father, as he really adds great gravity and humanity to this key role.

Jennifer Aniston talks about ‘uncool’ remarks on Oprah
Jennifer Aniston called Angelina Jolie “very uncool” in her new Vogue interview.
But when Oprah asked Jennifer on her show today about calling Jolie’s remarks about falling in love with her then-husband Brad Pitt “really uncool,” her defense was that she responded to the reporter’s question.
“I basically just answered it as honestly as I could,” Aniston says on “The Oprah Winfrey Show.”
Yeah, because stars NEVER say “I don’t want to discuss my personal life” or “Next question.”
===============
Wow Elizabeth Snead is calling her out too. Love it. On Oprah’s show, when she answered the question, she tried to look like an innocent child, touching her hair. Oh, I dunno, they made me do it. What a fraud.

That’s great news about Jason Flemyng, I hope he gets a nod. I’ve seen him in the Guy Richie films (He was hilarious as Brad’s bro in snatch).

Something about ___’s eyebrows was very off. I can’t put my finger on it and I can’t decide whether it’s worth rewatching that snoozefest again.
But did you notice when Oprah whipped out the Vogue and held it up while talking about the Angelina angle, ___ leaned away from it?
Where, oh where, have the body language experts gone? OH, WHERE, OH WHERE CAN THEY BEEEEEEEEEEEE?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The chic had botox done this week and you can tell its fresh because her eyebrows are being held up by transparent strings or something.. and one eyebrow is arched differently than the other..
Yes, I saw the awkwardness when the vogue came out.. like oh no, cats out of the bag look but i can bet this was rehearsed.. The worst part was when she suggested that her movie was on par with TCOBB.. Fincher needs to give her a smackdown!!
Worst thing is O has gotten oh so tabloidy.. Her face was all like, I got you there didnt I?
Wish every parent could say that. the focus of their lives is their chidlren.

When good karma dawns, the wall of doubt is torn down.
CLINIQUA: Well of course, she put that ‘Challenge!!’ out to her minivans, and I’m sure they’ll be eager to help Jen ‘win’ against Brad (eyeroll). Afterall, look what she did for Obama and her book of the week clubs. They have a goal, and a mission and they know what it is…thing is, the dog movie HAS to make money, it has nothing else…that’s what it was made for…Button is in another category altogether, it’s art, it’s epic, destined to be a classic in the way of ‘It’s A Wonderful Life,’ - and box office is neither here nor there to Oscar buzz generating art films, if it does moderately well up against Bev Hills Chihuahua 2 (aka Owen Wilson’s dog movie) then that’s fine, IT will be the movie sweeping the Oscars, NOT Maniston playing 4th fiddle to Owen Wilson, some dogs, and some kids.
Cliniqua: See first paragraph. Okra has put the word out, Maniston’s movie VS Brad’s. Should be good for a dozen or two more toxic tabloid ‘Showdown!’ covers. In case you didn’t know it - this was more a Brad smackdown than Angelina’s. Goal was to lure him BACK to Okra’s under the context of playing nice and featuring his amazing film, then fake him out and debut Maniston and her Angelina snarky Vogue cover a few days before his PRE-TAPED interview airs, that way he will come off not saying anything about Maniston’s AJ diss.
=======================================================
Bravoo again Cliniqua, you are so right it was a joint orchestration by Huvane and Oprah. I really now see why Aniston managed to get the American **** Sweetheart title having no talent and with an average look. This can only be maneuvered by a pure ingenuity of a professional publicist. But this really make me sick. It is worse than a dirty politics.
But what Brad and Angie has will always win in the end. Living the truth, living simply and doing good is what matters. After all what goes around comes around. I just couldn’t wait when Aniston and Huvane will have a fall out. Aniston better watch out.
JP fans please continue posting, let us give our full support to this beautiful family we have come to love.
Thanks Jared for the thread.

The fate of a woman is to be a woman.
To a woman who complained about her destiny the Master said, “It is you who make your destiny.”
- But surely I am not responsible for being born a woman?
- Being born a woman isn’t destiny. That is fate.
-Destiny is how you accept your womanhood and what you make of it.
Cliniqua, you bring up CAA but did you forget about Brad’s connection to CAA? what a ******* joke.
Every site (3) i have visited today are bashing and trashing Angelina in the name of Brad and jennifer. I hope brad is proud of himself.
This should be the straw that breaks the camels back. Angelina and her children can do so much better than those two twits.
hi neleh! thanks for the shout-out
Neleh @ 11/13/2008 at 6:45 pm
Hi Neleh, we try hard to be restrained but lately it’s been X overload, very annoying. She even comes up in the Angie archives geez, enough.
I feel Irma’s annoyance BTW I didn’t watch the interview (OK I am at work during O’s show but there is a repeat and I don’t watch that either!!!!) :)
Good to see you Neleh.
Based on today’s show, I have to assume the Brad must have requested that Oprah ask no questions about Aniston.
