OlderBeyonce Covers V Magazine Winter 2008
Beyonce channels her alter ego Sasha Fierce in issue #56 of V Magazine, on stands this week.
“When I’m onstage,” says Beyonce of Sasha, “I’m aggressive and strong and not afraid of my sexuality. The tone of my voice gets different, and I’m fearless. I’m just a different person. It’s a way for me to differentiate what I do onstage from who I really am. It’s a way for me to not lose myself, to keep my life in perspective, because it’s really hard sometimes to stay on Earth when you’re a celebrity.”
The 27-year-old triple threat adds, “It’s funny because right before the show I’m under the stage making sure my double-stick is in the right place, my pack is turned on, and my shoes have the stickies on the bottom so I don’t slip—all of these things that are so not glamorous. Then I take my last sip of water, clear my throat, close my eyes, and tell myself, You are fierce. You are fierce. You are fierce! And the second I take that first step and hear that crowd, I kind of transform. By the time I get up to the stage, I’m in the zone. I don’t feel anything anymore. Like if I’m in pain or if I’m nervous it kind of becomes, I don’t know how to describe it, I become that other thing. It’s like I’m ready for war.”
Editor-in-chief Stephen Gan couldn’t be more happy with his cover model: “Beyonce is a true icon of our time and V Magazine loves everything that she represents, including her new album which lands in about a week! Bruce Weber has captured her classic beauty as well as her fierce onstage persona.”

She is nothing special and is overrated. She’s too self absorbed and can’t really act or sing. She’s pretty though.

triple threat? seriously–what is it she can do again? i mean besides gyrate onstage and blame it on “sasha”, steal others songs and claim she wrote them, garble the english language, and act horrible in movies? yeah, that’s a real threat right there, people.

I agree that other than being very beautiful, she is basically untalented. I think this name change thing is a publicity stunt and I seriously wish she would stop “acting” and “singing” and just play the role of the pretty trophy wife on Jay-Z’s arm at awards shows.

wow! i’m shocked at how miserable. HONESTLY she is beautiful, she is an amazing singer and dancer. she works harder than you would ever know. and the only people out there who don’t recognize her talent, are those who have NONE.

There are clearly some jealous trolls on this site. Beyonce is one of the best and hard working entertainers in the business. Her acting - bleh, she can work on, but she is THE ultimate performer.
Everyone thinks Christina a copycat but Beyonce steals from everyone like at the VMAs it was Angelina Jolie and in one of her videos she stole the champaign thing from Dita Von Teese and has stole Kylie Minogue robot idea from her tour to perform at and award show and I saw her at the VMAs Europe and she was dressed in something Lady GaGa would wear.
I’m not really a fan, but I’ll admit the girl can carry a note and she sure is pretty!

She can sing, but her songs are empty and stupid. She needs to be evaluated by some physchiatrist if anything. Better yet, she should take a LONG BREAK AND GET KNOCKED UP AND GO THE HELL AWAY!

I love Beyonce. She is so beautiful and talented. Haters can hate all they want. The truth is in the facts. She has nothing to prove anymore. she is already on top. all the Jealous people are…well…just jealous!

I saw them loading in and out on this shoot at the new thompson lower east side. she is beautiful in person.
I think she works very hard and deserves all the happiness she gets. I guess she’s pretty and multitalented. But I want her to take a long break. She’s married now and it would be nice for her to spend time with him. Plus, we can take a break from seeing her so freaking much because that girl is everywhere! LOL!
Her writing skills are normal to me. There are so many other things to write about than love, being single and somebody hurting your feelings. That’s why I can hardly tolerate her songs anymore. They are all the same……. Just my opinion. I guess it’s obvious that I’m not really a fan but I don’t dislike like her either. You won’t hear from me again. Bye!

While someone was so pressed to find writing awards for her, notice that mostly all of them was shared with the original writers. Also, the majority of her grammies came from Destiny’s Child, not in her solo career.
