I hope she keeps her promise this time and retires. Of course she said the same thing when she adopted Pax. She must be ready to add to her collection of kids again. What is with this Grandma business, can she not enjoy her time with her kids now? Her oldest is only 7. She really likes to race throught things and try to fill a void she seems to have. Constantly adopting kids isn’t going to fill that void, she needs to hold off until she figures herself out a little better.

Mid thirties is just around the bend from grandma although she started late with kids so with her oldest only 8 it will be another 15 years for grandkids. Unless she adopts a teenager.

Also, I dont buy the retire to wait on being a granma thing sounds like she is trying to get an Oscar nod by making it seem like this is her last film.

Angie is so passionate about her family, I just love that about her…I have never seen a woman that loves being a mommy so much as she does.

Ange is a world citizen and inspires people. She deeply cares about the people she visits with in refugee camps and no she doesnt just give the shirt off her back, she fights to bring them justice. To her, its not just about starting a school somewhere and have her name on the stationery, its about making sure that each student has had the chance to learn, to be motivated, to be inspired and above all to give back. This is not new !

She said a year ago that her family and humanitarian job is number one and that she doesn’t see her making movies for a long period of time. Being an actress is becoming an opportunity to live her real passions to the fullest : family and humanitatian missions because of the money she earns.

I said it once and said it again. Angelina will be like Brigitte Bardot, she will semi retire before she turn 40 and will get more involved in social, humanitarian and political related affairs as she raises her family. I can even picture her going to college in a few years to study foreign affairs, one or two languages and politcal affairs. I have read that she wants to play in a french movie but wants to learn to speak it properly before that.

She has that curious, intelligent cosmopolite insight of the world.

I also think this move is another rock added to the foundations of the JP’s as a family and a couple and that they will make it till death does them apart !

I think they will definitely get married very soon and will find a steady place to raise their children…still travelling but less. Brad will be more involved in directing movies…and the X will fade in oblivion cause she has made sure her existence in Hollywood is intimately linked to Angelina’s and if it was a bless for a time it will be her curse and downfall when Jolie retire. She lives through her by opposition and has made it a business out of it to stay relevant. Once faded and ignored by Hollywood, she will turn a drunk aging spinter, bitter and neurotic. She will realise that she has been living a fantasy and that after Hollywood, she has nothing left and is nothing. No legacy, no nothing.

Studying adolescent self-esteem wasn’t Bunten-Wren’s initial intent when the Wellesley senior headed to the three-month Kenyan program at the School for International Training. The psychology major’s first two months were spent as planned, living with a “home stay” family, and taking courses in development in health and cultural studies. The last month was set aside for her research in the field, supported by the Windle Trust agency.

“You can go anywhere in Kenya. You’re given a stipend and you do some kind of research in the field and write a paper as the capstone of the experience,” she explains. She initially intended to focus on education and children.

The change came about “sort of oddly,” adds Bunten-Wren. She bought a newspaper to read on the bus to ward off carsickness. In it was a story about a theater group from Kakuma, a large refugee camp. She was moved by the adolescent’s first-person tales of life there.

“In the spectrum of Africa it is sizable. But it’s not talked about a lot among the Kenyans. That sparked my interest,” she says.

“I decided I was not challenging myself enough just researching a special education school in Nairobi. I was just playing it safe.”

She headed to the school adviser that day “and sort of just came up with this idea.”

Her interest was the self-perception of Southern Sudan teens that were born in and lived their entire 16 or 17 years in the camp’s sub-standard living conditions.

“They’d never seen their home country. How does their perspective differ from the others who had lived in Southern Sudan?” she says. “I focused in on the Dinka — couldn’t cover the scope of the whole camp.”

Bunten-Wren used art for the bulk of her analysis. She tested the boys and girls separately. After an initial drawing of “whatever came to mind,” she had them create three images: a picture of themselves with a few descriptive sentences; an ideal partner with a description; and, finally a tribesman, Dinka specifically.

There was a difference between boys and girls, males showing greater self-esteem. But the startling finding was between the girls in two different schools. Half lived within the camp and attended its primary schools. The others attended the Angelina Jolie Girls’ Boarding School, located in the camp.

The latter had a “kindred spirit with Wellesley,” which helped girls gain confidence as capable human beings, to see their own potential.”

The difference demonstrated between the two groups was marked. The Jolie girls had a more positive view of self “drawing themselves bigger,” and provided more positive descriptive terms. The Jolie girls thought of themselves as smart and pretty, they wanted to be doctors and leaders. The camp girls struggled with any description.

Even in mate choice the Jolie girls held partners to a higher standard. “Typically the boys had higher self-esteem than the girls. But the Jolie girls rivaled them.”

“The great realization for me was the (Jolie) girls were charismatic … really smart girls. I left feeling hopeful. … THEN I met with head mistress.”

All of the Jolie girls wanted to go to secondary school or college. But she was told few would actually attend. The fact was their attendance at the Jolie school promised a larger marriage dowry for the family. “It’s hard to say no to that while you’re in a refugee camp. But most (with few exceptions) would be married off after boarding school.”

That revelation is what prompted Bunten-Wren to change her own course. “That was a clarifying moment that said … this is what I’m supposed to be doing, so faced with it in the future, I can do something about it.”

Bunten-Wren — who spent most of her childhood in the Dover and South Berwick, Maine, area — is now a peace and justice studies major. She hopes to head to graduate school for international development.

“I’m toying with where in that field I’d fit the best, to do the things I want to do and … go out and help women get an education.”

She plans on applying for grants, in hopes of returning to Africa to gain more experience.

“I’m kind of keeping my options open, but I’m pretty determined to go back to Africa. Hopefully East Africa. And hopefully Kenya,” says Bunten-Wren. “I may not be able to go back to Kakuma and the Jolie school, but their story … inspired me to dream big and go out in the world and help others.”

It’s your problem if you are a fearful person. Angelina has already said that they (Brad and her) will be smart about things, but they will never stop living their dreams just because of fear. I must admit I am not too adventurous either, that’s why my life is not as exciting as hers. I am glad she is with Brad, because they seem to share the same outlook in life. He would not be happy with Jen, and vice versa.

PT.. when I watched how Ange described what the paps were doing to get a first shot of the twins, I really felt bad to even think that I wanted to see the pics. Its completely inhumane the way the paps treat this family.. I mean, come on give them a break.. drilling holes in ceilings to get a pic.. going thru their trash to look for shiloh’s diaper.. Its beyond disgusting. I am so glad that they are now doing pics on their own terms and if that helps Brad explore his artistic side, why not??

Hey Cliniqua just an observation I had. I sort of thought Oprah asked x about the quote to see what she would say. X didn’t remember what she had said in the article. Didn’t she ask Okra if that was what she had said? Okara had the pages marked for easy referencing. To me she made x call herself a liar. That’s JMHO could be wrong.

I noticed that O didn’t greet her as her best friend. She called Beyonce the gorgeous Beyonce upon greeting her. And at the end of their interview she said Beyonce was beautiful inside and out. No such praise for x.

Oprah was professional to x, but not overly warm. I think that Oprah has come to realize that x doesn’t really help her ratings that much anymore.

Where are the types of Angie saying the paps were trying to drill holes in the roof to get pictures of the twins? How long will she whine. and cried over an almost 4 yrs. divorce. ? her pity party are going much longer than her marriage to Brad, beside, in all this 4 yrs. how many guys did she bang with ? 4 or 6.? its’ not like she’s living like a nun mourning her divorce. she ’s having a great time with her series of lovers, enjoying her tan and weeds with her lovers at her million dollar mansion and with regular lying almost nake at Mexico.

Paramount has set “Quantum of Solace” director Marc Forster to helm “World War Z,” based on the Max Brooks bestselling novel about a worldwide infestation of flesh-eating zombies.

“Changeling” scribe J. Michael Straczynski is writing the screenplay, and Brad Pitt’s Plan B is producing.

Brooks — the son of Mel Brooks and Anne Bancroft — wrote a detailed tale in which a researcher for the U.N. Postwar Commission interviews survivors from countries all over the world, 10 years after the crisis, to gather a first-person post-mortem on a war that obliterated every country on the map.

Forster is unlikely to return for another James Bond installment.

As for “WWZ,” “The genre always fascinated me, and when they pitched it to me, it reminded me of the paranoid conspiracy films of the ’70s like ‘All the President’s Men,’ ” Forster told Daily Variety.

Just say it - my husband was having an affair with Angelina Jolie without my knowledge during 2004 when we were still married and living together and before we were officially separated.

The fact she has never made this accusation so directly and bluntly but instead prefers to use innuendo such as “what we said was true - as far as I knew” (Vanity Fair 2005) and “there was stuff printed that was definitely from a time when I was unaware that it was happening” (Vogue 2008) has nothing to do with being a class act as her fans claim.

She will never come out and make the accusation of an affair directly because it is a lie and she knows she will have Brad Pitt’s lawyers knocking on her door in a heartbeat if she were ever stupid enough to go down that road.

Heres a challenge to Maniston, if you truly believe Brad and Angelina were having an affair during 2004 then come out and say so clearly and directly. Otherwise shut the f*ck up, move on with your life and leave this family alone.

When will it be safe for Angelina to speak about her love for Brad and her children? A proud parent tends to brag quite a bit and also talks about their other half. Just want to know when it will be okay with Jen for Angelina to express herself. Not sure why Jen still feels hurt and angry when she said it feels like it’s been forever ago and she’s over it. Certainly doesn’t look over it to us, she still wants to dictate what they can and can’t say four years later. Jolie shines in ‘Changeling’

What could be more heart wrenching than a mother searching for her missing son? It is hard to believe that anyone could portray more emotion on screen than Angelina Jolie.

In “Changeling,” audiences are treated to a truly haunting performance by Brad Pitt’s other half.

It is easy to get caught up in the tabloid lives of Brangelina. How can anyone concentrate on the story at hand?

But Jolie (an Oscar winner for “Girl Interrupted”) is able to adeptly play the role of Christine Collins, creating a passionate and tortured character that lifts the film from melodrama to masterpiece.

Clint Eastwood takes a stoic turn at directing, and his efforts result in the compelling story of a real life 1928 event that occurred in Los Angeles.

The story is so chilling and suspenseful that the realism only helps to remind the audience that the horrifying events really did happen.

The film is even more relevant and exciting to viewers near this area because the film was shot mostly in downtown San Dimas.

Streets are instantly recognizable, and the choice of location perfectly suits the time period. Plus, for locals, it is fun to spot the various areas captured on film.

Although the sets are a key element of the movie, the strongest aspect of the film remains the storyline.

The movie opens with Collins spending time with her 9-year-old son Walter.

The mother and son seem extremely close, which helps explain the true terror, when the next day Collins discovers that her son is missing.

After several months of searching tirelessly for her son, the Los Angeles Police Department (that has received tons of bad press because of being corrupt) brings back another boy, who they claim is Walter.

Jolie’s face registers emotion after emotion, and her acting ability is demonstrated with her eyes – she rarely has lines of dialogue, just emotions that are displayed silently.

Even after giving the police evidence that the boy is not her own, the entire LAPD insists that they are heroes, and that Collins must be insane for insisting that they still find her son; the police continue to claim that they can’t look for a boy whom they have already found.

The film takes several twists that will not be mentioned, so the audience can experience the more surprising moments in the film.

But there are more than enough shocking elements to the movie – made even more remarkable because they are based on true events.

However, if the movie were just sustained by its plotline, there would not be enough to raise Oscar buzz.

So, it is the acting in “Changeling” that might get the film whispered in the same breath as a possible Academy Award nomination.

Jolie is downright impressive as a mother who will stop at nothing to bring her son home.

Her unforgettable and disturbing scream, “I want my son back!” is sure to ring in audience’s ears for some time to come.

And without giving anything away, this film has a scene with the singing of “Silent Night” that will surely ruin the innocence of the Christmas carol forever.

John Malkovich also turns in an influential performance as Collin’s one crusader, Rev. Gustav Briegleb.

But it is Oscar nominee Amy Ryan (most recently seen as Holly in “The Office”) who almost steals the movie away from Jolie.

Ryan appears as Carol Dexter, a hard as nails gal who shows Collins what it means to put up a fight.

Without this immensely talented supporting cast, the film surely would not have been as moving as it is.

See this movie not only for its unpredictability and the true-life adaptation, but also for the standout performances by Jolie and Ryan.

I’ve always been fascinated with period films of any kind. I admire the hard work put into them by everyone involved, from the actors to the director to the set designers. Changeling so easily transports the audience to late 1920s Los Angeles right from the start. The level of detail instilled by Eastwood is astounding. From cereal boxes to cable trolleys, everything feels authentic. The look and feel of the film is downright professional.

As engrossing as the film’s atmosphere is, the acting is what carries the film along. Changeling may as well be Angelina Jolie’s com- ing-out party as a truly respected actress. Her versatility as an actress is shown as she leaps from the stylish 2008 action f lick Wanted to this serious and emotionally moving film. Jolie gives a sense of endearment to the character that truly makes the audience care for her strug- gles. Her performance is powerful and more than just a showcase for a nomination as best actress.

While the spotlight is focused on the dolled up Jolie and her thunderous cries for the return of her real son, the rest of the cast is not to be forgotten. Nearly every other performance in Changeling is as convincing as the next. John Malkovich is powerfully inf luencing as Reverend Gustav Briegleb, the man who spear- headed the fight against the corrupt factions of the police department. Other notable perfor- mances include Jeffrey Donovan’s performance as Captain J.J. Jones, leader of the LAPD Juvenile Department, Amy Ryan’s so-good- you-won’t-even-recognize-her performance as Carol Dexter, a wrongfully imprisoned woman and Jason Butler Harner’s unsettling perfor- mance as serial killer Gordon Northcott.

Changeling is as much about theme as it is plot. Eastwood strays from the conven- tional concept of making the film simply about a grieving mother and police detective work by exploring themes relevant to the time period. In this case it was the 1920s’ male-dominated Los Angeles. This only el- evates the importance of Collins and the femme-driven battle against the police. The execution of this theme among others all goes hand in hand with Eastwood creating the perfect mood for the film.

It’s simply a well-made movie. Whether it blows you away or not will depend on your patience. Some will find it at times overdra- matic and too involved. I, on the other hand, was wrapped up in every minute of the film. I felt that part of its purpose was to slowly and gruelingly detail the plight of Collins, dragging the viewer along all the ups and downs.

Eastwood tells this haunting and sor- rowful tale in a way only a veteran like him- self could. The multi-genre Changeling is emotionally moving, compelling, entertain- ing and f lat out successful as a mystery, thriller, drama and period piece. This film is not a superficial shot at an Oscar; it’s a well thought out, well crafted and beautifully shot film that captures the audience from be- ginning to end.

“Changeling” is based on a true story about a mother and her fight to find her son in the early 1920s. It is a wonderful role for Angelina Jolie.

Jolie was able to really show so much of her talent in this new movie, along with big names like director Clint Eastwood, producer Ron Howard, Gattlin Griffith and Michelle Martin. This movie will most likely be mentioned highly in the Oscars.

The setting includes old trolley cars, phone switch boards and antique Model Ts.

Christine Collins (Jolie) is a single mother trying to raise her son while working as a supervisor for a phone company switch board in Los Angeles.

She returns home from work to find that her son, Walter, is missing.

After repeated calls to the L.A. police and religious political leaders targeting the corrupt police department, Christine is forced to believe that a boy who the police have found is her son; just changed after his disappearance. She takes this strange child in.

Later, when she refuses to accept that the police have found her son, Christine will try anything to prove that this strange boy is not her son. When she has her proof, she goes before the press, naming the police in the scandal.

In retaliation, the police have Christine locked into an insane asylum. Continuing to fight, she is rescued by religious leaders and given a hand up. Her plight changes laws and turns heads in the police department as she continues to search for her son.

“Changeling” is a wonderful movie, which I give four stars.

Movies: Jolie shines in good, solid drama

In various, slightly parted poses of defiance or nine kinds of sultriness, Angelina Jolie’s lips have been deployed by studio marketing departments every which way. And with Jolie done up like a melancholy Edward Hopper figure, her eyes downcast, her lips are the visual focal point of the ad campaign for the new Clint Eastwood film, “Changeling,” which is a little odd, considering the wrenching subject matter.

The film, based on Southern California’s infamous Wineville chicken coop murders of the late 1920s, is a good, solid addition to the 78-year-old Eastwood’s directorial career. From a forlorn young boy’s doom-tinged farewell to his mother near the beginning, to the precise moment (on the “Silent Night” lyric “mother and child”) a heinous predator dies on the scaffold near the end, Eastwood, working from a script by J. Michael Straczynski, tells a painful true story neatly and well, with one foot in rousing Hollywood melodrama and the other in a story that resists tidy resolution.

In 1928, Walter Collins, 9, disappeared from the Los Angeles-area home he shared with his mother, Christine.

Five months later, another boy claiming to be the son of Christine Collins was reunited with his doubting mother in a highly public way by the Los Angeles Police Department. Collins said bunk: The boy is someone else’s.

The police, ruled with murderous impunity by Chief James E. “Two Guns” Davis, were not interested in any more bad publicity and summarily tossed Collins in the psychiatric ward of the county hospital under a Code 12 violation. Feminine hysteria was the crime, in so many words. Only the newfound boy’s admission of guilt freed her (it plays out somewhat differently in the film). The facts are cloudy, but Walter Collins’ abductor appears to have been Gordon Northcott, whose Riverside County ranch held the remains of various missing persons.

It’s grim stuff, and “Changeling” elides the worst of it, perhaps to give the audience a break (what’s left out of the script relates to sexual molestation, as well as the involvement of Northcott’s mother), perhaps to avoid comparisons with Eastwood’s “Mystic River.” The script emphasizes the triumph of one woman’s campaign against the law-enforcement officials who shut her away in hopes of shutting her up. Jolie, rail-thin, plays Collins as a feral crusader for justice. In a largely expository role, John Malkovich portrays Rev. Gustav Briegleb, Collins’ partner in exposing the venality of the local police.

Jolie brings out the best in the script and transcends its limitations. She’s spectacularly effective in the most intense blowouts — there’s an Oscar-clip dilly with Jolie and Jason Butler Harner, who plays Northcott — but Jolie really shines in the calm before the storm, the scenes (and there are many) when one patronizing male authority figure after another belittles her at their peril.

“Changeling” comes to dramatic life most vividly in the hushed scenes, notably the ones dominated by Michael Kelly’s Detective Lester Ybarra. He’s one of the few characters who undergo a marked change, starting out as just another LAPD flatfoot, slowly pulled into the vortex of evil represented by Northcott.

“Changeling” fundamentally works; it holds you.

But these issues of texture and detail matter too, and they hold clues as to why Eastwood’s latest is a good, solid achievement rather than a great, grieving one.

I ALMOST fell flat on my face when I saw a huge tarpaulin displaying Brad Pitt’s face at a Kiehl’s product launch. Not only is he very good-looking; actually, my first thought was, now people can use something Brad (and presumably Angelina) use!

And I’m happy that it’s Kiehl’s. The entire sale of its aloe-vera biodegradable liquid body cleanser goes to support the global environmental initiatives of JPE Eco Systems. Plus, I must say it’s one of the best bath products ever out there.

Brad Pitt and Angelina JolieMelbourne, Nov 14 : Managing a demanding profession like acting along with six kids can be stressful for anyone, but that’s not the case with Angelina Jolie.

The stunner insists that motherhood and life with partner Brad Pitt is ‘beautiful’ and she couldn’t be ‘happier’.

The actress, who is playing a distressed mother in her new film ‘Changeling’, says that in real life, she is quite happy with life on the personal front.

“This is such a beautiful time for me,” Herald Sun quoted her as saying.

She added: “When I look back on my life, I never really believed that I would find this kind of happiness on so many different levels.

“I think I trained myself to expect less, but meeting Brad and being with him has shown me that sometimes it just takes the right circumstances for you to meet a good man who enjoys being with you and working towards the same goals in life. Brad has always been there for me.”

The Changeling is a searing drama based on the true story of a child’’s disappearance in 1928 and his mother’’s struggle to discover the truth. (ANI)

Did anyone notice how awful Oprah looked! She really looked bloated. She had on tons of makeup and you could see the extra fat in her face. Who is her stylist? The outfit she had on was horrible and did nothing for her weight. Jen looked horrible also. Beyonce was the only one who dressed with class and looked beautiful (although I thought she had on the wrong earrings with her hair slicked back and ears sticking out). Angie always dress nice and stylish. Angie has a classiness about her that she probably got from modeling. She carries herself well.

What gets me with Jen is that she should be trashing the person who really broke up her marriage. The real homewecker was Brad and not Angie. The marriage could have not have ended unless Brad wanted out of it. But she does not trash him but sing his prasies. I like the article that was posted on JJ that said no woman can break up a marriage, the man is the one. Jen has her anger misplaced.

I am glad Angie, Brad and gang have left LA and are hopefully back at home in Berlin. It is amazing how one remark from an interview by an envious person can create such a frenzy.

Just think about it, Angie and Brad at the end of the day, have a loving family to go home to. A home that is chaotic but full of love and fun. Children bring life to a home. I love how Angie never says I when talking about their life with the kids, she says we! That shows how much in love she is with Brad and how they are a team. It is so much fun to watch and listen to children. They do and say the funniest things! I know that Angie and Brad are enjoying every moment. As Angie said that they are only young for a short time. The age of their kids was my favorite time with my kids. I work in the school district as a therapist and get to work with a variety of ages. The young kids are my favorite. They are so funny and their personalities are hilarious. Just watching their little minds operate is amazing!! My coworker stopped by with her new baby yesterday and I thought about Angie and Brad’s two beautiful babies. How they are growing and developing personalties! When I held little Presley, I felt the warmth and preciousness of her small body against my shoulder. It made me miss that age and special time in life. I thought about how Angie and Brad are enjoying holding those precious little bodies and loving them, making them smile and laugh. Love this family so. I am happy that Angie sees the importance of having time with her family. Daddy will become the breadwinner, and he can make some bread. But by Angie coming back to make a film every now and then will make her a even more big celebrity because everyone will want to see that film. She is so special and one of a kind!!!! That is why people either love her of dislike her. Some people dislike those who do not fit their idea of the helpless girl next door and who is outspoken and make no apologies for the way they live their life. That is what I like about Ms. Jolie. I think that is what Brad loves about her also, look at him now. He has grown and blossom.
As for Jen and Oprah. They go home to their DOGS! Oh joy!!!!
