Lipstick Jungle Canceled!
NBC’s drama Lipstick Jungle has been canceled, reports THR.
Kim Raver, Lindsay Price and Brooke Shields played the three female leads. That means no more shirtless Kirby Atwood (Robert Buckley)!!!
THR also reports freshman drama My Own Worst Enemy (with Christian Slater) also got the axe. No official comment has been made by NBC about either series just yet.
ARE YOU SAD to see either of those two shows go — Lipstick Jungle or My Own Worst Enemy?

Never saw Lipstick Jungle. I tried really hard to get into My Own Worst Enemy but after enduring the entire first episode and then part of the second I realized it was not a good show. Not good at all. Bad show.
Only watched it for shirtless Kirby. Not surprised it was axed, it was a watered down version of SITC.
Not a fan of either shows, however I was a fan of shirtless Robert Buckley! I am going to miss seeing him!
Lipstick Is a GREAT show- And all 3 women are not only gorgeous but VERY talented. Its a shame to see it go!

I never watched Lipstick Jungle. In fact, I vowed never to watch another network show because my favorites inevitably get canceled. I saw a commercial for the Christian Slater series and they said its this season’s newest hit, so I thought it was doing well.
Eli Stone will be the next.
I am FURIOUS that they are cancelling MOWE. It is the best show on NBC. It isn’t getting a good lead in because Heroes isn’t doing so well right now, but the show is definitely a grower. I was pissed when they took Journeyman off last year too. NBC needs to stop being such sissies and give shows a bit of time to gain some traction.
What are they going to put on in its place? Deal or No Deal for the 27th hour of the week?

I never watched Lipstick Jungle on TV, but I watch it online, they have all the episodes, very high quality. I like the show. All the characters are likable . I am sad to see it go.

I really like MOWE and I liked Journey Man. I agree these executives need to get some backbone and let a show grow a fan base.

I am pissed to hear the news of Lipstick Jungle being cancelled! That is crap!!! There are so many worse shows to watch in the NBC lineup and I can’t believe they cancelled the one I watch! This is craziness..I knew as soon as it moved to Friday it had been given the kiss of death. Has a show ever survived a Friday night on NBC? This is just terrible and why I hate to watch t.v. in the first place, as soon as I find a show I’m really into it gets cancelled. Thanks for nothing NBC!

I’m totally bummed out about the cancellation of “My Own Worst Enemy”! I agree with many of the earlier comments. The show was unique in many ways: it’s premise, the “mini-movie”-style. I found the dual/conflisting character compelling.
Why oh why do TV executives think all we want to watch is “Deal or No Deal”, “Dancing With The Stars” and “American Idol”! I guess this is why I usually watch cable channels!

Nobody should be down on NBC. They run a business and only comedies have the potential to grow. NBC sticks with shows longer than the other networks. ABC canceled Cashmere Mafia after last season and I think they had similar ratings to LJ. NBC also tries out diverse shows, not just the procedurals like CBS serves up. That is the problem though, most people want to watch that kind of crap. All I have to say is thank G-d for cable.

Lipstick was a “pretty” show, but highly unrealistic in their potrayal of working women and working mothers, so I tried to relate to charcters, but it was not happening. Kirby was a hottie….bummer

I am very upset by this!! I really loved Lipstick Jungle. Thought it was a good show and we needed another Friends/SITC type show for us women. My husband actually liked it too. The story line was good and the acting was good as opposed to 90210. Really think they need to reconsider this given all the distractions viewers have had recently ie the Olympics and the election.

I absolutely love Lipstick Jungle and can’t believe they are taking it off the air. I look forward to watching it every week. I tape it whether I’m watching it or not just in case I fall asleep…then I can watch the parts I missed! This is a huge disappointment for me and my sisters! We are faithful watchers and it’s a topic of discussion every Saturday!!

OH no. I just heard the news. I happen to love Lipstick Jungle. It is my favorite guilty pleasure…it is so relaxing - and refreshing - to see a show with all female leads (sorry, Kirby, I like u 2) that I can relate to. Granted, I don’t live in New York and I’m not a high powered executive but I can somehow relate to their struggles. It’s an engaging, fun show and how can you not love the theme song. Read my lips - this sucks!

No!!! I can’t believe they canceled Lipstick Jungle! It was the only show I looked forward to during the week. I hate that the network moved it from Wednesday to Friday. I hope the network reconsider. I’ve been a fan since it started back in April/May and couldn’t wait for the fall series to begin. NBC please reconsider. There are other shows that could get the boot. The storyline was just getting good!

Awww bummer! I actually like the show. At first I only watched it for the Kim Raver/Robert Buckley storyline but then the whole show grew on me. Also I love the clothes the women wear!!!

Lipstick Jungle is an entertaining show. It’s too bad that executives won’t give it enough of a chance to capture an audience. It takes time to get involved in the character’s lives. NBC, don’t pull the plug so quickly! The show is a lot better than some of the garbage that has been on the air for years.

Although cancellation was imminent, it’s sad that NBC didn’t give it a proper timeslot in the first place and it became a Writer’s Strike casualty.
Plus, it’s really out of place in NBC’s line-up.

This show was a stretch, in every sense of the word. Over acted and just bad story lines. I noticed more and more shirtless scenes with Kirby, so I knew they were trying too hard. Not surprised this show is getting the axe. It’s insulting to professional women and doens’t hold a candle to “Sex and the City.”

First they axe Vegas, which was my favorite Fri night show, and not they bring all of my favorite Vegas actors to Lipstick Jungle my now Fav Wed show and they cancel that. Lipstick jungle is an awesome show, then again I also love dirty sexy money. My problem was there were too many other good things on at the same time. I used to watch it on line the day after, or tivo it. Maybe that is why nobody watched it. It was on in a bad time slot. I could think of a lot of other shows that suck, Lipstick is not one of them… GRRRRRRR

Adding to my comment after reading some others. I have to agree with elizabeth.. Even my boyfriend liked watching it with me, he loved vegas too though, and when it comes to shows he doesn’t like much besides fishing shows. We need to petition them to keep this show. If there are this many people that loved it I am sure there are many many more. Who the hell decides if a show is good or not anyway? They surely did not ask me what shows I like.

I am very upset that Lipstick Jungle is cancelled. What is wrong with NBC. You keep bad shows and take a good show off? I loved that show and I hope they reconsider keeping it on.

I am so disappointed Lipstick Jungle is canceled. How can NBC do this??? And fund their other ridiculous shows??? Lipstick Jungle is the only show that has substance — NBC sucks if they remove lipstick jungle. If I remember, 30 rock wasn’t doing so well in its earlier seasons, now look where it’s at — and lipstick jungle wasn’t even half as bad as when 30 rock sucked (all though I LOVE 30 ROCK too!!!)
Come on - let’s give Lipstick Jungle a longer life - change it back to the original night, if the Friday night slot is not working. Love the show - something to get caught up in and forget the horrors of real life.

What! Lipstick Jungle canceled? is that a fact? Break my heart. First SITC goes, now this. I’m crushed. I loved the show because it was a mature version of SITC, older woman, married status (some). Totally loved it’s juicy content and somewhat realistic NYC ways. Really hate to see it go, will look for the reruns. ;-(

I am a fan of both of these shows. It really isn’t fair that the networks want you to get involved and then they pull the rug out from under the fans with no notice. What’s the point of watching the new shows if the networks won’t give them a chance to catch on?

A little sad the show is canceled. I did grow to like Kim Raver very much. First time watching her show. Her eyes can talk and convey very real emotions. Made my heart skip a beat once in a while. A great actress for sure. Can’t say as much for Lindsay Price though.

This is crazy why cancel one of the best shows they have came out with since Sex and Th City. If they cancel any shows it should be that stupid show Paper Dolls. Brooke, Kim, Lindsay, Robert, Andrew have done a fanstatic job. The story, the music, the fashion , everything was great. Why is that you network people always ruin a good thing. Bring the show back.

I watched the first two episodes of My Own Worst Enemy, and didn’t think much of it, but Lipstick Jungle is great! Yes, it’s over the top, and the characters lead unrealistic lives, but that’s just par for the course on TV. I loved the characters, and I thought they were developing nicely. Now they cut them of at the knees? What’s wrong with NBC????!!!

I love Lipstick Jungle and do not understand why they continue to cancel all the good shows and add another reality show. Everytime I start to watch a show its always gets cancelled like Journeyman, October Road, Vegas, Cashmere Mafia and Big Shots. Please give shows a chance before you cancel!!!

Shame on NBC for canceling a well-written show which just so happens to be one of the ONLY good shows on TV with strong female leads, not to mention the talented (mostly female) writing staff. This is a very well done show. It is the only show that has the style of SATC. It certainly did not help moving the show time to Friday. However, I dont know what NBC plans to put in its place that they expect to be better. Also, tptb need to realize that since it is a continuing story line - it often takes a while for people to get hooked into the story line and into the characters. I really wish they would give it more time.

There are so many shows and channels to watch that the good shows out there don’t always get a chance to prove to the networks. Give them a minute. I am to the point, I try waiting a season or two and catching up because they cancel shows so quick it ticks me off. I want to make sure there is a future with them.

I love Lipstick Jungle. The show is fun, glamorous, yet with real characters and emotions. I’m so sad. I hardly have time to watch tv anymore and I don’t miss an episode. I can see why My Own Worst Enemy was cancelled, although I love Christian Slater - I just couldn’t get into this show. But Lipstick Jungle? I do love that show - It’s one of the only shows I make time to watch.

NBC — Do not cancel LIPSTICK JUNGLE! It is one of the better shows on TV right now with a storyline that you can actually follow. Give it a chance for Pets’ sake— there have only been 9 episodes and maybe you should have spent more money advertising it instead fo sinking money into pilots and canceling them after 3 episodes. At least finish out the season instead of leaving us hanging with the storyline like networks used to do when they had integrity.
I used to really like HEREOS but they have jumbled it up with too many characters and flipping back and forth between past and future with no warning.
Getting rif of Jay Leno and replacing him with that moron CONAN will surely cost you 75% of your viewership. Now the only decent scripted show you’ll have left is Medium. If you cancel that one, you’ll be out of business in 5 years no doubt.

I really like lipstick jungle and its the only one of its kind out there at the moment. I really love how the show is able to brisk me away when I am in my daily routine. I hope they keep those episodes coming. It was a shocker when they said it was cancelled. Maybe it wownt be lets keep our fingers crossed. By the way Brooke Shields has also proved she is a great actress, and I would love to see more of her on TV.
I love both shows! Lipstick Jungle is the only show on TV for 40-plus women. Brooke Shields looks fabulous (as do the other actors). The story line is interesting and something that most of us can relate to.
My Own Worst Enemy is just great. I’m not even a big Christian Slater fan, but he’s doing an outstanding job in this role. He’s very believable as both Edward and Henry. His whole body language and demeanor change. That’s not easy to translate visually. The storyline is interesting and is holding my attention. I keep find myself watching both shows every week.
Too bad NBC aren’t asking any of us what we think.
Lipstick Jungle is one of the great nighttime soaps!! Who can resist those three ladies and their fabulous tribulations… and sure, Butler’s hot, but he ain’t the main reason to tune in. Keep it on NBC; we could use more escapist fare in these lousy times.

I love Lipstick Jungle. My daughter got me hooked on it this year and so I went out and bought last year DVD.. It is wonderful and the girls are so funny and really fun show to watch. I was in tears from laughing over last week when they were driving and hit something. It was halarious.. Please tell NBC to stop canceling all the good chick shows. OMG, I absolutely love Lipstick Jungle and am so disappointed it is being cancelled. Can anyone say why??? Is it a rating thing? Please give this show a chance! It’s got a great casting, great writing, great music, phenomenal guest artists…. PLEASE. Or move it to another network but don’t retire it altogether!! It’s got so much potential.

It figures. NBC does this all the time! They get you hooked on a show and just when the story lines get good they yank the show. They did that with one of my other favs-The Black Donnelly’s. The show was good enough last year to renew so I feel like they should give Lipstick Jungle another chance and another time and day. Get it off friday nights and on a night when people will be home and are most likely to watch. The friday time slots are the kiss of death for these shows. I’m close to boycotting NBC shows all together because they have such a history of doing this!

I agree about Kath and Kim and think that is a HORRIBLE show (and it is still on the air). Love the talent in the show but the show is AWFUL! If that can stay on the air how can they possible defend taking Lipstick Jungle off the air?

I’ve been watching Lipstick Jungle show in the UK and thought it was fantastic! Am so gutted it’s been cancelled - it filled the SITC hole wonderfully without trying to be the same - also absolutely loved all the fashion!! Come on NBC…do the right thing and commission another series!!!

We only have lipstick jungle in england but however i thought it was a great programme i love Kerby and all the girls and it just seems to me that all the good programmes in america are getting cancelled!! why why why is this!! It would be so great if they were able to give programmes like lipsticki jungle time to get a fan base not only in america and but in other countrys too!! My wife and I only watch two shows regularly. This is one of them. We like it because it is filmed in NYC, it is about the fashion industry, movie industry, and the characters are high-powered yet vulnerable and at times frail. I don’t hink that the show is predictable and boring. I think that the stars on the show are good actors/actresses and that the story line is intersting. I am eager to see what will happen next: Will Niko want to get pregnant or will she adopt? Artificial insemination???if so, who will be the father? Will Brooke shield’s character’s project go forward? Will her husbad’s project succeed or fail? Will her daughter speak to her mom about other adolescent crisis? Will Victory Ford get her love interest back? The fashion business is a roller coaster; it would be natural for Victory’s business to have good seasons and unsuccessful ones. I can’t believe that this show will not be supported. Are my wife and I tooo intelligent and too nice to deserve this type of programming? We don’t like to watch any reality shows. We don’t like to watch shows that are too violent. That does not leave much. This is show is fun because it contains light-hearted moments, some drama, and some comedy. I wish NBC would change it’s mind. I don’t know how likely that is. Is there any chance that HBO or showtime would pick up this show. My wife and I don’t even Tivo or record this show. We watch it “live” every week. We have not missed a single episode. Our society has become so complex that this show has the opportunity to go in many directions yet maintain a realistic and humanistic story line. It is sad that there is such poor content in television programming today; violence or real people making fools of themselves. By the way, I am insulted by the networks posting of so many reality shows for another reason. Reality shows cost next to nothing to make by comaprison with a scripted series with good actors. Cancelling this show, Lipstick Jungle, is a huge loss.

Very sad to seee LIPSTICK JUNGLE leave!!! It was kinda like the next “sex in the City” kind of show!!! WHy cancel the show NBC? I would’ve thought it got really good ratings!!! boo!!!! Bring back Lipstick Jungle!!!
Unfortunately I never had an opportunity to watch either of these two shows.
Loved Lipstick…I only “commit” to a few shows a season and this one was so fun.
So disappointed it kind of breaks my heart, I love Lipstick Jungle, not just for Kirby Atwood, but because its a great show. It’s not a watered down SITC, it is however more mature and doesn’t completely revolve around getting a man, which is why Candace Bushnell wrote it after SITC and it made into a show, they thought the viewers of SITC at this point would have been mature enough to appreciate the show (guess the rating proved that people aren’t ready for mature). I personally love it, the book is actually my favourite book and I’ll either have to keep re-reading it now or hope Bushnell keeps writing more with the same pop of feminism. I just bought One Fifth Avenue and I’m looking forward to reading it over Christmas.
I LOVE Lipstick Jungle !! Been watching the show since it aired. I also really liked MOWE… sad that it’s gone :(

Ok, Lipstick was a bit of a girly show but I really enjoyed it. All 3 women were gorgeous and I thought the plots and acting were very well done. I will miss it for sure.
I love love love Lipstick Jungle. I do not think they ever gave it a chance by putting it on on Friday nights. I always DVR’d it or watched it online! I am terribly dissapointed! I love Victory!

I am so disappointed, i loved this show. As a matter of fact this is the only show I watched. I am no longer interested in Desperate Housewives. I think it may have been the time slot. Most fashionable people that enjoyed this show were more than likely not sitting at home on a friday night. They should of kept in on Wednesday night.
Don’t we have enough reality and bachelor shows out there………

Not too often does a TV show catch my attention, or loyalty for that matter. Lipstick Jungle DID. I thought that the cast was awesome and the writing was forward thinking anc creative. I LOVED watching just for the fashion alone. The show was really starting to take off as far as the story line goes, I just wish NBC gave it a bit more time for the public to catch on. I personally enjoyed it far more than Sex and the City==and look at how incredibly popular that show was. I hope Kim Raver finds another show, I thought she was really good. Thumbs down on this choice NBC,

The Execs are claiming that the report of cancellation was somewhat premature. It really is great show, love the cast!! Hopefully they will give it a better time slot… how ’bout “must see” Thursday!! Lipstick Jungle is rather refreshing,… now if I could only get my wife into this show too. :)

I watch Lipstick Jungle every week in the UK and absolutel love everything about it. The beautiful women, their lives, their men, their costums, the shoots in New York and most of all their endearing relationship, which is so believable. My sister and I are devestated that this show has been cancelled and so do hope the producers can reconsider.

It’s all about the ratings for all these broadcoasting systems. How can one episode determine the outcome of a show? Maybe they should find a way to count website ratings. Not everyone has the time/tv that is capable of watching nbc. But that does not mean we don’t like the show any less. My comment here as well as many thousands other across different website and snail mail might not change the fate our beloved “Lipstick Jungle” but atleast we can say we did our part. This show portrays smart, beautiful, loving, women who seem to have everything going for them, but like everyone else out there, they have problems too. They are more “real” than those “reality” show out there these days.
This is the greatest show on TV right now. It is the escape that women need. It is sexy, and fun. Makes the average stay at home mom, feel good and is a real pick me up. NBC needs to change their mind. Without ER and now Lipstick jungle. My TV will be tuned into CBS (The Unit, CSI, Criminal Minds). There will be no reason to watch NBC. I have not missed an episode of Lipstick Jungle and will be very sad to see it go. My husband even watches it with me. What man wouldn’t want to see Kim Raver, Lindsay Price and Brooke Shields. Such a shame to see it go.

OMG. Please ,please, please don’t cancel!!! I really look foward to watching every episode each week. I will tell everyone I know to watch and if they tell everyone they know and they tell every one they know… so on and so on. If this show was on a pay channel like HBO or Showtime I would add that pay channel just to watch this show. Please give it one more try!!! One more season to prove that it is worth it. I am soooo dissapointed to see “Lipstick Jungle” cancelled. I was so looking forward to my Friday evening with the three friends. it was a smart show with talented actresses. It’s a shame!!!
I AM SO SAD that they, in their infinite wisdom, cancelled Lipstick Jungle. It was well written, excellent acting and interesting subjects. Just shows you that the masses cannot take the 80% minority.

I LOVE the show!!! I cannot believe that NBC is actually canceling the show. The story lines are great. I was a little upset that the network moved the show from Wed to Friday nights but I have learned to make the time just to see the show. I am sure all of the other fans like me are unhappy. There aren’t that many shows on television that are really about women since Sex and the City. It is a shame that we have to lose a good show. I hope that the network can change its mind. There are many other shows that networks have cancelled and they bought back to the air like Family Guy and the Boondocks.

Lipstick Jungle was great!! Full of simple drama, great actors and perfect to just relax. I loved it !!!

I love the show, and would miss it terribly. The half hour sitcoms on NBC (as well as other networks) are pathetic, and I cannot face the prospect of only having Jay Leno to watch at 9:00 MST every week night. Please put a sophisticated show like LJ on in some timeslot!
