The Curious Case of Benjamin Button opens on Christmas Day and was directed by David Fincher (Zodiac, Seven and Fight Club).
In an early review, Variety says, “Button is imagery wizard David Fincher’s big-canvas play for mass acceptance, and he’s fashioned an effects-laden but character-driven epic that recalls the sweetly doomed, emotional glamour of Hollywood’s golden era.”

Well, one review was posted at JJB. Go to the TV and Movies Forum and you will see a review from a person who went to the screening. Another was from blog called popculture. There have been other tidbits on hollywoodelsewhere.com

not that it matters but just to clear up this 5live interview thing. simon mayo interviewed angelina around 4-5th october, simon mayo was in the u.k angelina was in NYC and the interview was done on the phone/satelite link which 5live recorded and played it today?

London is in Europe . not far from Berlin. i don’t care where she is. she has done some interview and i would like to enjoy it. whether she is in Berlin or in London she is or will join her family soon enough. i would have liked to read what she actually told about the movie instead of all these talks about where she is.
thank guli on other thrad for picture of their plane landing in Berlin. i think picture were from other days but were posted later because they were taken by phone camera. i think so. anyway , happy that the family can live without any paps and have fun in Berlin. hopefully they are having a good time there. will be here later.

He said it sounded like there were a lot of people in her room so she had to tell them to be quiet for them to hear each other,from that I thought it was on the phone.I loved Simon he had a lot of questions about the movie something we dont get from other interviews.he got Angelina talking about the movie and you could tell she is proud of the movie.

still good interview though, mayo is never going to ask stupid or personal questions as this is not his style or 5live’s style of interviews.

A shimmering melancholic romance about the most unusual of criss-crossing lovers — a man (Brad Pitt) who ages from infirmity to infancy, and a woman (Cate Blanchett) who grows old like we all — “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” is imagery wizard David Fincher’s big-canvas play for mass acceptance, and he’s fashioned an effects-laden but character-driven epic that recalls the sweetly doomed, emotional glamour of Hollywood’s golden era.
Aging is a theme that resonates with an Academy often criticized for its predilection toward the sentimentality of the subject (”On Golden Pond,” “Driving Miss Daisy”). But Oscar-winning screenwriter Eric Roth elegantly fused F. Scott Fitzgerald’s short story with a decades-spanning love story, another favorite genre with voters (the Roth-written “Forrest Gump,” “Reds”). It helps give “Button” a chance at a category-sweeping juggernaut, with Fincher on track to score his first Academy nomination.
At five nods with one win, Blanchett is fast becoming a yearly Oscar night fixture, and her Daisy is another full-bodied portrayal of sensuality and intelligence that wouldn’t be out of place among leading actress turns of the ’30s or ’40s. One-time supporting actor nominee Pitt (for “Twelve Monkeys”), meanwhile, has an unusual role that fortunately plays to his strengths: love of character parts and brooding ambivalence about his beauty. It could mean his first lead actor nom. Strong supporting work from the lively Taraji P. Henson as Benjamin’s adoptive mother Queenie, and last year’s supporting actress winner Tilda Swinton as Ben’s aristocratic first love could yield other noms.
A Fincher movie is usually a cause for technical celebration, and “Button” covers all the bases, from the sepia-to-spectrum richness of the visuals (Claudio Miranda) to the century tour of clothing styles (prior nominee Jacqueline West), and from the stunning New Orleans-based production design to the performance-capture-meets-makeup aging effects that put Pitt’s wrinkled face on a shuffling, diminutive body.

Also CCBB is screening this week and hollywood elsewhere has that info. JeffW has not seen the film yet and his comments have been focused on that fact. COBB is like many films coming out in Nov/Dec this year, few screenings so far but that situation is changing this week. DavidF was still twiking with a few special effects scenes just within the last couple of weeks as he is a perfectionist like most directors.
If I were you I would not kink up my fingers trying my best to get some recognition for the Dog and Me movie.

Remember the Golden Globes? She intentionally forgot to thank Brad. That was the time when she was walking around with a cane due to an ankle sprain? Although she thanked him later…it’s pretty obvious that there was something going on at that time in their marriage and it wasn’t a good one. How can you forget to thank your own husband; Again she lied at the press conference during the after show; I remembered watching the red carpet on TV and she was trying to walk ahead of Pitt; When she won, she turned her head away when Brad kissed her and hence got a smooch on the cheek and it didn’t look like a warm one. And this was even before Brad met Angie. His hair was long and he did not look as bulked up like he did during Troy. And that is just my observation. Anyone remember this?

That was Jan 2003. Brad went off to make Troy about 6 weeks later. That’s the period we all refer to as the “trial separation”…cuz she only visited him once in Morroco and once in Mexico. You know some shite was going on when X couldn’t even be bothered to go to her beloved Meh-hee-co more than once…
BTW, ITA, she did DELIBERATELY not thank him in her main speech. It was like she was punishing him for something. Then when she was asked about it in the press room afterward she pulled that phony ass, “OMG! I can’t believe I forgot to thank my husband! Thanks for holding me together, man!” shite. That was the beginning of the end. Too bad it wasn’t the end of the end. If it had been X wouldn’t be able to lay all the blame on Angie and absolve herself of having fcuked up her marriage.

thank you for posting this interview.. This is how interviews are done.. Qns pertaining to the movie are asked.. Notice how Simon asks her what are you working on next.. she answers Salt.. There are no personal qns or anything with innuendos.. I noticed that whenever she talks to a British interviewer, she slips into a cute British accent.. she may have caught it when she lived in Buckinghamshire..

No kisses, no smootches, no booty palms…just an uber-casual stroll with neither one of them looking at the other.

Brad and Angelina Can’t Get Enough of Each Other.
They kissed and caressed their way through a party for Pitt’s new flick The Assassination of Jesse James By the Coward Robert Ford Tuesday night at Guastavino’s in NYC.
As the evening began, each greeted well-wishers and Pitt, 43, held hands with Jolie, 32, rubbing and tickling her back.
Shortly thereafter, when they smooched on the lips, Jolie couldn’t contain herself anymore. “You’re so cute!” she gushed. They capped off the night whispering, giggling and smiling at each other in between — yep! — more kissing before heading out around 12:40 a.m.
“They looked completely in love and genuinely happy,” the witness adds.

Poster Pair: The Curious Case of Benjamin Button
After the tantalizing tease last week showing us a snapshot of the backwards-printed posters for The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, we now have this more gorgeous twosome for viewing in huge resolution. The high key lighting and total lack of back-lit illumination reminds me of the stark full-frontal photos of Richard Avedon. (You’d damn well better bring your inner glamor when you sit for a bare-bulb Avedon interrogation portrait.)
The posters thankfully forgo sepia for the more gilded glow of a burnished coin — the golden ageless image of bas-relief royal medallions. Another striking thing these faces have in common with an Avedon power portrait is the intensity of their arresting gazes. The camera captures an unblinking confrontational challenge, yet hint at the warm promise of frank engagement — tentative lips on the very verge of expressing what’s going on in the mind behind the eyes.
The title written in reverse on Brad Pitt’s page now makes deeper conceptual sense when paired with its reflective mirror image on Cate Blanchetts half of the duo. The dyptich is combined in a more typical but no less effective fusion after the cut.

David Fincher directed Seven, Fight Club, Panic Room. Zodiac to name a few. He is a good storyteller and TCCOB will be his most challenging yet. Eric Roth wrote the movie version based from a short story. I am looking forward to seeing this movie no matter what critics say like so many fans of Brad worldwide.
