Brad Pitt: New Benjamin Button Posters!
Check out these new promo posters featuring Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett for their new reverse-aging love tale, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. Thanks, JoBlo!
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button opens on Christmas Day and was directed by David Fincher (Zodiac, Seven and Fight Club).
In an early review, Variety says, “Button is imagery wizard David Fincher’s big-canvas play for mass acceptance, and he’s fashioned an effects-laden but character-driven epic that recalls the sweetly doomed, emotional glamour of Hollywood’s golden era.”
ARE YOU EXCITED for Benjamin Button???

So let me get this straight, one unfavorable review…ONE was posted at JJB and that for you equals “The Reviews are coming in” Rotflmao!!
Oh my, you gotta love bad news bearers who have amensia!!! We’ve been reading good reviews for the past month or so but suddenly ONE unfavorable review is an “Oh no, the movie isn’t good” *dead faint* moment
LMAO!
Morning all,
bdj thanks for the articles.
JJB REVIEW @ 11/17/2008 at 11:01 am
Fake review you didn’t see the movie ,you just took what everyone knows about the movie and came up with nothing.move on .
For Your Consideration …
Paramount has just launched its 2008 “For Your Consideration” site, and clearly “The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button” stands out as a leading contender for the studio. If next year’s Oscars were held at the Paramount lot, David Fincher would go up against one of his idols, Steven Spielberg, and another quite surprising nomination for ‘Best Director’: Ben Stiller!
In my very biased opinion “Benjamin Button” seems like the biggest Oscar-caliber ‘Best Picture’ out of this selection, further including “Indiana Jones”, “Tropic Thunder”, “Kung Fu Panda” and “Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa”. And then for most of the other categories of course we will have to wait and see. ‘Best Makeup’ would be a rather obvious nod, ‘Best Visual Effects’ is one I would dare to bet my retirement-plan on (if I had one), then of course ‘Cinematography’, ‘Editing’ and ‘Sound Design’ are usually outstanding on Fincher’s works, and I truly wish for David Fincher to pick up his overdue nomination for ‘Best Director’.
For “Benjamin Button” Paramount hopes for 16 nominations overall, which makes it their highest ranking contender. Thursday, January 22nd 2009 is when the official nominations will be announced … and by the time we will hopefully all have a better, more informed opinion on what good a shot the film has at any of the categories!

The critic from EW wrote WOW after screening CCOBB plus I read of couple of people with movie sites who were not as excited. I think it is going to be one of those films you have to see and decided for yourself. I just love the love that Brad and Angelina are doing different and interesting movies.
Thanks for the links to Angelina interview.

I don’t think you can take a small amount of semi reviews and detemine how the film will do. Just before Departed came out there were online critics calling it formula - typical of police/mob drama. Then it goes on to win the Oscar.
fingers crossed @ 11/17/2008 at 11:25 am
What on earth is there to be nervous about? How can you have worries when the film is just being screened? What you are calling early reviews are not reviews, they are the musings of an extremely tiny unidentified few who say they saw the film. No named people with who knows what agenda? Like maybe drumming up support for their films?
Why make something out of nothing?
Why not wait to see real reviews with names attached to them?
Where did all the misbehaving celebrities go?
By Nara Schoenberg | Tribune reporter
November 17, 2008
Britney Spears—she of the shaved head, the toxic boyfriends and the serial wardrobe malfunctions—hasn’t embarrassed herself in months. Noted party girl Lindsay Lohan, who did two stints in rehab last year, is going around saying she is “different” and “happy now.”
Even Angelina Jolie, the queen of the modern-day celebrity soap opera, has nothing better to offer her fans than a breast-feeding photo and the news that her 4-month-old twins are—gasp!—developing personalities. (sorry but for us fans that’s plenty thank you)
Is it just us, or is America yawning?
Some will say that the big stories of recent—the economic downturn and the election—have replaced celebrity news in the public imagination. But last week’s hoopla over the complete non-revelation that Jennifer Aniston didn’t appreciate Jolie’s rapturous public statements about falling for Pitt (while he was still married to Aniston), suggests the appetite for Hollywood gossip continues undiminished.
The lull in celebrity news has been marked by bottom-of-the-barrel scoops (Nicole Richie’s baby’s nickname!), lackluster covers (Jenny McCarthy declares herself a really great mom—again!) and too much speculation about Madonna and soon-to-be ex Guy Ritchie (He said she was too skinny! She said he was a wimp!).
In recent years, America’s fascination with celebrity news has risen side by side with a general fascination with the very young, very rich, very beautiful and/or very thin.
But gossip industry insiders have said that the caliber of 21st Century celebrity news has also been a key factor in the genre’s success.
From Angelina alone, we had the movie-stars-in-love story line, the Team Aniston versus Team Jolie story line and the victory of Team Jolie. Then there was Pitt’s adoption of Maddox and Zahara, the birth of Shiloh, the couple’s first biological child and the adoption of Pax. Those who thought the domestic story line had played itself out underestimated Jolie, who got pregnant again—with twins!
That development, with the dramatic downward spiral of Spears, the combustion of the storied Meg Ryan-Dennis Quaid marriage (with a cameo by Russell Crowe), the openness of the Nicole Kidman camp after her sudden separation from Tom Cruise and Cruise’s subsequent couch-jumping for Katie Holmes, made for a golden age of Hollywood gossip.
The present dry spell could, of course, be just the lull before the storm. George Clooney could get engaged tomorrow. Maybe to Paris Hilton. But barring that windfall, celebrity watchers are left to read recycled “revelations” about the early days of the Jolie-Pitt romance and wonder, could this be the beginning of the end?

Angelina Jolie cries over mother as she discusses Changeling
From Times Online
November 17, 2008
Angelina Jolie blinked back tears today as she told journalists in London that her role in new film Changeling reminded her of her late mother.
The actress, visiting the UK to promote the Clint-Eastwood directed movie which opens next week, said her character, whose son goes missing, was similar to her actress mother Marcheline Bertrand, who died from cancer in 2007.
Tears welled in Jolie’s eyes and her voice broke as she remembered her mother: “She was very much Christine Collins. She was very sweet and she would never get angry and she would never swear, but when it came to her kids she was fierce, so this was very much her story.”
The mother-of-six also confirmed that she was winding down her acting career. “I’m not making some retirement announcement but I have a big family and a lot of responsibility at home.”
The actress, who brought her four-month-old twins to London with her, said she planned to make a movie every one to two years and imagined she would eventually step away from the film industry.
Despite her glamorous image as one half of a Hollywood super couple, Jolie, whose partner is Brad Pitt, told journalists that she had spent much of the past year at home in her pyjamas colouring in with her children.

The early reviews for Button haven’t been good. Hopefully this will change once the movie opens. I’m looking forward to seeing this atleast once but I’ve been reading about people leaving disappointed after a screening.
++++++++++++++++++
ROTFLMAO. Where are your links? There have been exactly THREE reviews for CCOBB - 1 that said it was a good but not great movie (popculture.com); and 2 (Variety) that said it was fantastic and a classic.
I gave my sources…where are yours?
# 424 Jen Fans are Delusional @ 11/17/2008 at 10:36 am
They’re the 3 D’s, just like their idiol - Delusional, Desperate and Dumb. Never a pretty combination.
so angelina IS in london today. why was the premiere cancelled yesterday sunday 16th if angelina was coming to the u.k the next day. she was unavailable for sunday but o.k for monday? i guess the other 4 kids are with brad in berlin, and angelina managed to get into london unseen, so the simon mayo interview was pre-recorded from earlier today.

Well, one review was posted at JJB. Go to the TV and Movies Forum and you will see a review from a person who went to the screening. Another was from blog called popculture. There have been other tidbits on hollywoodelsewhere.com
+++++++++++++++++++++
Where at on Hollywood-elsewhere.com? I go there all the time and have only seen people asking if anyone’s seen it…and lately quibbling over the posters for the movie and whether or not Brad’s wearing a hat! Sheesh. Talk about nitpicking.
Oh yeah…the JJB post you referred to - I think that’s the same chick who was laughed off the IMDB because she quotes generic comments from other sources. Read her supposed review of “Revolutionary Road”…it’s the same thing. She doesn’t mention any specific scenes or anyting…just generalities that have been printed elsewhere or that you can glean from the trailers. How is it she was able to see BOTH previews? Plus, the word is Paramount put a lock-down on people being able to discuss the movies…so why is she talking?
For anybody who doesn’t want to look up the JJB links…

so angelina could either stay over-night in london and go on GMTV live tomorrow morning or GMTV will show the interview they did with her today, tomorrow morning.

From Perez Hilton (gag)
Angelina Jolie is box office gold for 2008.
Santa Angelina blessed box offices with over $1 billion with her 3 films this year: Kung Fu Panda, Wanted, and most recently, The Changeling.
++++++++++++++++++++
ROTFLMAO! I see Perez is stealing ideas from here again. Oh well…at least he’s stopped stealing Jared’s pix…
just heard the premiere for changeling in the u.k is tonight in london. i am not sure if brad is even in london so that will get the gossips going if angelina turns up on her own.
emerton @ 11/17/2008 at 12:35 pm
We dont know what Angelina is doing unless she tells us.
emerton @ 11/17/2008 at 12:35 pm
Not sure Angelina is in London today. Can’t determine that from info provided so far. Times could be wrong as to her being in London in person as she took the twins with her to NYC in Oct.
Very conflicting info re the interviews, sound as it they might all have been done at the same time in NYC in OCT.
Anyone who sees the GMTV interview can tell us if they were live or not.
I suggest wait and see when other interview (s) were done. Don’t just jump to conclusions when there have been no actual sightings of Angelina in London for an interview. OK?
