Brad Pitt: New Benjamin Button Posters!

Check out these new promo posters featuring Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett for their new reverse-aging love tale, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. Thanks, JoBlo!

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button opens on Christmas Day and was directed by David Fincher (Zodiac, Seven and Fight Club).

In an early review, Variety says, “Button is imagery wizard David Fincher’s big-canvas play for mass acceptance, and he’s fashioned an effects-laden but character-driven epic that recalls the sweetly doomed, emotional glamour of Hollywood’s golden era.”

ARE YOU EXCITED for Benjamin Button???

Did you see what the guy at Awardsdaily.com said about the Revolutionary Road screening? He said there’s an embargo in place until Tuesday and people who’ve seen the movie aren’t supposed to talk about it. The same was true of the CCOBB screening last week…

Revolutionary Road Screening

I wasn’t going to say anything about this because of the Tuesday embargo, but since someone else already did, I suppose I can say a bit about the screening itself, though nothing of the film. They invited the press and a lot of SAG members. There were free martinis on the way in and on the way out. There was a Q&A afterwards with some of the key cast members. There was a party with the cast afterwards that I didn’t attend. I also didn’t drink a martini because I knew I would need to be frosty watching this, one of the season’s hopefuls. Ms. Winslet and Mr. DiCaprio were charming, of course, but I dare say Michael Shannon stole the show in the Q&A. They talked about the film and took a few questions from the audience.

PersianCutie @ 11/17/2008 at 12:54 pm

from times online it seems the article is talking about the press conference which probably has taken placed earlier today. i don’t see any problem with her being there. she probably arrived earlier today and probably will leave tonight. she brought the twins. hope UK’s fans here will go and support her movie.

OT -

LOL…someone who saw RR at the screening was NOT impressed by Leo. He looked like Charlie Brown? Really?

Just came back from seeing Revolutionary Road and without dropping any spoilers, I have to say that the film is a huge disappointment, primarily due to direction, screenplay and the male lead. Kate is great in almost every scene and is almost assured of a nod for this performance; unfortunately the camera does not love Leo’s face, he looks like an overgrown Charlie Brown in most scenes and he just seems wrong in the role. The dialogue is often literary without being well-written, the art direction flat. But there are three great supporting performances and the magic of Kate. But on the whole, a huge disappointment.

I just listened to the Simon Mayo’s interview (BBC 5Live) on Angie.

This is another instance why it’s ridiculous for anybody to mention X in the same sentence with Angie’s name. It’s just absurd.

Eloquence, check.
Intelligence, check.
Choice of words/ unlimited vocabulary, check.
Voice quality, check.
Coherence/ logic. check.
Direct to the Point, check.
……the list goes on.

Those mentioned above, i can’t find any of it in any X’s interviews.

the times u.k is not a tabloid so if they say angelina is in london, she is in london. it is 6 pm now so i hope the media at the premiere asks angelina where brad is so she can explain that brad is working in berlin so could not be here as I KNOW what all the headlines will be tomorrow, angelina sans , solo etc etc.

Rampant speculation is in the house!!!

Typical day at JJ’s!!!

LOL.

This site is truly “I heard it through the grapevine central” !!!

No waiting for facts or proof of anything, just ruminations and guesses and tales of the unknown!!!!

neer @ 11:17——–You are so right! Angie is so brilliant, so well spoken that she puts Jennifer Anistion to shame.

Jennifer should be very well embarassed and if she had any intelligence at all would see why Brad left her for Angie.

There is noooooooo comparison whatsoever!!!!!

Passing Through, what about popculture review, what do you think? Why he discuss the film?

emerton = troll jenhag or tabloid intern

So obvious.

Why in the hell does Angie owe anyone any dam* explanation of anything?

Did Brad explain why he was solo for BAR premieres? Or for NYC screening of CCBB? Hel* no!!!

Just STFU!!!

emerton, give it up. If you’re this fake worried over Angie making a two-day flyover press stop, while Brad continues filming for Tarantino, what in hell did you do when Pitt stayed away from Maniston for 6 months at a time for this film, 3 months at a time for that film?! Hahahaha! Shut up ya stupid twit-twat.

Some posts from Awardsdaily.com about CCOBB…

Don’t bother reading the rest of the thread below. How they managed to turn a post on CCOBB into a fight about whether or not Jennifer Hudson deserved her Oscar is beyond me…

Site moderator, Sasha Stone…

So, Anne Thompson posted an early rave of Benjamin Button from an “industry spy.” Her commenters accused it of sounding like a studio plant. Thing is, I don’t think Thompson would post a studio plant review so it would be nice if this person would go on the record. At any rate, they say:

It’s magic realism propelled by extraordinary filmmaking technology but it’s not remotely what I’d call cold. It creates a world of oddities and wonderful, off-kilter characters but the whole piece is anchored by a decades long relationship that gets strained, frayed, breaks and rebuilds into something profound and moving.

The achievement is big and bold and ambitious and life-affirming, but the sentimentality is always toughened by the continual sense of loss and deep sadness at the transitory nature of the human condition. If it sounds like an art movie, it absolutely is, but it’s a four quadrant art film!

Meanwhile, one of her commenters caught a preview screening of the film and wrote quite a long review with a great many plot details revealed. He also attended a Q&A with Pitt et al. and reports on that event as well. It really sounds lovely, this movie, gotta say, even with PopCultureNerd’s lukewarm review. I am going to go out on a limb here and say that if you haven’t lived enough of a life to really get what it feels like to stare down the barrel of old age this film will not hit you on the levels intended. I realize this sounds disgustingly agist and perhaps condescending but give an old lady some credit. You learn things as you get older is all.

I also heard almost exactly what Anne Thompson heard AND printed. Cate Blanchett and Taranji are the possible Oscar nods. Cate, I hear, has to carry the film really, without all the CGIs that are laid on Brad. The films like gangbusters evidently even though or because Brad is special-effect-ed to death.

And it was compared to “Forrest Gump”. I don’t get that. But that’s what I heard.

PersianCutie @ 11/17/2008 at 1:11 pm

wait until pic come out and we will see. we know the truth if she shows up alone. we know what is the reason, we know that Brad is working in Berlin , so what other people think or what tabloids are saying is not important. isn’t it enough that we know the truth? wait until we get pic and then we will even think about it. we are not even sure if she is there or not. times online article is sounding like she was there. but we are still not sure. i’m waiting for more interviews. that interview is not complete as it looks like.

She is Right @ 11/17/2008 at 1:11 pm

Off Topic

Helen Mirren does not like female interviewers

“No, it’s more that I prefer male journalists because there’s a streak of female journalism — the ******* — who are mean-spirited and nasty because you are another woman and want to make you feel crap. It’s very upsetting. I’m more careful when I’m being interviewed by a woman because, from experience as well as reading articles about other women, I know there is a little stiletto knife hidden behind the back.”

She’s laughing as she sizes me up. But she’s right. On the whole, women don’t like other women, because women are competitive with each other. She says: “In a rape case the courts in defence of a man would select as many women as they could for the jury, because women go against women. Whether in a deep-seated animalistic way, going back billions of years, or from a sense of tribal jealousy or just antagonism, I don’t know. But other women on a rape case would say she was asking for it. The only reason I can think of is that they’re sexually jealous.”

emerton @ 11/17/2008 at 12:43 pm

Why in the world are you stalking this woman and why does she owe you any explanation of her whereabouts?

emerton @ 11/17/2008 at 1:13 pm

Well well well.

You are an idiot, could not wait to rush to judgement about a premiere that is not even happening!!!!

LOL. Once again losers are losers.

The critic from EW wrote WOW after screening CCOBB plus I read of couple of people with movie sites who were not as excited. I think it is going to be one of those films you have to see and decided for yourself. I just love the love that Brad and Angelina are doing different and interesting movies.

++++++++++++++++++

ITA. Look at Changeling - a lot of critics didn’t like that and I thought it was excellent. Besides - critics are never going to agree 100% on anything.

ewww he’s so ugly
