Katie Holmes works out a pair of bell-bottom jeans as she leaves her New York City apartment for her Broadway performance of All My Sons on Saturday and Sunday.
Interesting enough, the 29-year-old actress sees her husband Tom Cruise’s ex-wife Nicole Kidman on the back of the Playbill for her musical everyday! Nic is on the Chanel ad which is splashed across the guide.

Nicole Kidman seems like a reasonable person to me and could even be grilfriend’s with Katie if they were both amenable. My husband has an ex and we all have a great time when we meet. A divorce doesn’t automatically make once-removed parties heir to any free floating ill will!! And why would one want to take it on?

I’m concerned…
The first look is a disaster!
The untucked tailored navy blue work blouse certainly does not match funky five inch heeled suede dress sandals, ergo the grandma navy cardigan. The shoes are just wrong. These are dressy evening shoes designed for anything other than the denim sails Holmes has flapping in the wind.
Do I need to mention that the jeans match not one single piece of the ensemble?
If you can’t match a simple shirt with a pair of blue jeans, I’m not sure a fashion rescue is possible.
The 2nd attempt:
The heeled boots are an obvious new purchase, but should not be worn with a black leather jacket. As such a light feminine white scarf should not be worn with a black leather jacket. The pieces don’t match or complement and I still see no evidence of purchasing a brush or a hairdryer. No words!
3rd attempt:
Finally. A fashion miracle. Holmes has managed to pair a white menswear shirt with jeans and flat boots. An outfit that should match, but still misses the mark, classic brown riding boots, traditional brown paisley scarf, and a modern black fabric tech bag?

Au Contraire I beg to differ–a pair of jeans is not just a pair of jeans. When a woman (or man) makes them the basis of their style or look, then they should at least fit correctly for their body type.
These do not. Tim Gunn said it better than I will–but this woman is a fashion disaster.
Nothing really goes. The shoes look dreadful with the outfit. The top(s) don’t go either.
I don’t know how she does it, but she manages to be a fashion disaster almost 95 percent of the time.
Take the brown leather boots. Probably expensive, but they look as though she purchased them at Wal-Mart because she misses the mark on how to wear them with pizazz and style.
She is no Audrey Hepburn, Nicole Kidman, Coco Chanel, JACKIE-O or any other fashion icon one can think of . Most of the time she is a mess.
She is what? 29 years old? Half the time she is trying to dress like a teenager and the other half she misses the concept of style. How this woman can take an obviously expensive piece of clothing be it a shirt, a bag, shoes etc and make it look so totally wrong is beyond me.

I mean, I’m not saying her style is perfect, but she’s not the fashion disaster that people make her out to be. I see so many stars who dress worse than her and people rarely criticize them. But katie is expected to look perfect 24/7. People judge her as if she were going to a fashion show or fancy dinner, when in fact she is simply heading to the theater where she will take off her outfit and change into her costume.

Shoes are fine, but look awful with this outfit. Each piece is okay, but not together. About the nicest thing you can say about her ensemble is that at least she looks like she had a bath and her clothes are clean.

On her own, she has done nothing to be as famous as she currently is. She would never have gotten the part in All My Sons if she hadn’t been married to Cruise. There are too many excellent stage actresses in NYC for her to have even been considered. Her dreadful sense of design would have had absolutely no paps snapping her jumpsuit and dress if she wasn’t married to Cruise.
And Mr. White, if you did not have your head up her butt, you would realize we do not see as much of her or Tom when they are in LA because they don’t want to be seen. They slip in and out of Tommy boy’s mansion with stealth and sneakiness. You don’t see the paps getting pics of them going to their cult meetings do you? Basically when you see Katie she is doing something totally inane like shopping. The woman for all of her shopping habits can’t seem to put what she buys together into an outfit that works.
Why don’t you look at the Kidman thread. Now that is class, innate style, and elegance. Nicole looks like royalty. Katie looks like a peasant.

God, I love reading all these comments about Katie Holmes!! Its sooo clear that the glowing comments are either from her FAMILY, remember she has several brothers and sister, or nuts that just like to comment on her to counteract all the negative (but true) ones. But everyone, please try to remember, what you see of Katie day in and day out IS the real Katie Holmes. She NEVER had a sence of style (only when modeling) and never really looked good at premiers. This is the REAL KATIE HOLMES and I think she’s letting the world know she’s over being controlled at least in this part of her life. We thought she was stylish after she married the girly man. (Do you all remember the awful dress she wore in Italy and Tom’s matching ties when they started this comedy show?) Plain, ill fitting and boring? Well, she’s BACK!! All those fancy clothes, even her wedding gown, couldn’t change the fact that she’s PLAIN.

Do you think their cult bodyguards? What other celebrities have this 24 hour protection? I can understand having a driver in NY, but all she does is go to and from the theater, an occasional walk for ice-cream, shopping, whats the big protection force for? Have there been threats on her life? or Suri? And do you hear these guys yell, ” O.K. get back, thats enough, let her pass” I say the same thing when I’m in a crowd ! I think if she would stop telling the paps when she and Suri are going out, they would save alot of money on “Security Protection Services”. You know the problem I have with this woman is that she seems as dumb as a plank (to quote Princess Diana).
Didn’t watch her on Dawson’s Creek and don’t know much about her pre-Tommy boy days.
But since she met Tommy her intelligence has dropped to moron. Every time she opens her mouth she sounds like a vapid idiot. Even the magazines she has been featured in have made comments that have made the rounds about how spaced out she has been. How everything is awesome, magical, wonderful etc.
It is like Tom Cruise sucked the life out of a woman and left this vapid, simpering shell.
It is really hard to take her seriously as an actress and as a human being when she has such a limited vocabulary and interest range! She doesn’t appear to do much except shop,. talk in superlatives and drag her daughter around without a coat.
Most actors and actresses that have any depth speak intelligently on a range of subjects, are involved in things other than acting, and can actually act. They don’t gush over their partner using the same word ten times in a two minute sound bit.
If I were married to her, I’d would be asking for divorce and how much did she want to get out of the marriage because after two years of wonderful, awesome, magical in those baby, whining tones of hers–I’d be willing to pay almost anything to get rid of her.
