OlderBrooke Shields: Lipstick Jungle Not Canceled
Brooke Shields says her NBC drama Lipstick Jungle hasn’t been canned.
“They thought that because My Own Worst Enemy has been shut down that the same thing had happened to us, and it’s not true,” she said at Sunday’s Cookie magazine Kidsfest in NYC. “They’re not breaking down the sets. We’re still working. We still have more to do, so it’s erroneously presented that we’ve been canceled, thank God. Our bosses are saying, ‘You’re not canceled, don’t worry. We’re just trying to figure out how to make this make sense.’ It’s been insane. I think that the public outcry has been crazy, and it’s kind of wonderful. We’re basically No. 1 if you look at DVR. And you look at all that. So the public is watching it.”

I’d rather believe Brooke Shields but, let’s face it, entertainment is a back-stabbing business like no other. I hope she is right because the Lipstick Jungle is great.
(The axe could come down to some other less inspired shows before hitting the girls.)
To #21: Keeping your televisions on even if you’re not watching the show won’t do anything ratings wise. This is what many people fail to realize: If you’re not a “Nielson house,” and chances are you aren’t, your viewing habits won’t be recognized in regards to ratings.
Also, there’s no way that Lipstick Jungle is #1 by any stretch of the imagination. That comment alone makes me believe that Brooke Shields doesn’t know what she’s talking about.

The outcry against LJ’s rumored cancellation has been incredible. The show’s website board forum has been deluged with lots of support for this show. This is one of the few shows that NBC that has people really riled up. I’m a LJ fan - it’s one of the few shows out there that’s about successful women. Lots of fans have been sending in lipstick to the NBC honchos.

I really hope lipstick jungle is not cancelled…i LOVE that show! NBC would be foolish to cancel it, they barely have shows that are major hits. They need to take into account the people who DVR them, just because you can’t watch the show when it airs, doesn’t mean you don’t love to watch it!
