Nicole Kidman World Premieres ‘Australia’
Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman (in Isaia) arrive for the world premiere of Australia at the George Street Greater Union Cinemas on Tuesday in Sydney, Australia.
“In terms of my future as an actor and stuff, I don’t know,” the 41-year-old actress told a packed press conference.
“I’m in a place in my life where I’ve… had some great opportunities. And I may just choose to have some more children, Kidman said. “I have no idea what’s in my future but I am very at peace with where I am going to be and there’s many things I want to do besides act.”

She looks awful in that photo, i mean its painful to see her try smile to me, i am never against Botox or any other procedure and dont think its something to take against others or to diss them for it.Its every womans choice, but i find it silly when Kidman claims she is all natural and wants to agre gracefully.I dont care if a celeb like lets say;Victoria Beckham chooses to get Botoxed to death down the line, she aint an actress her profession dosent hurt because of it, but Kidman needs her face in order to act.

You only have to look at the interview Nicole did on Oprah and
also on local tv here in Australia to tell she isn’t using botox, she is
able to raise her eyebrows and has frown lines between her eyebrows,
anyone using botox isn’t able to do that.
I do think she has collagen injections in her lips but that is all.
If you look at early photos of her and compare them to how she looks now you can clearly tell she has aged a lot, it is just BS to keep saying she looks the same!!

…and I support her as an actress, but … even I cringe when I see her face and how “frozen” it is.
No matter how much she looks out for her skin, at her age it’s totally appropriate to have some lines and expression marks.
Nicole looks cute, but she isn’t dressed the way I would’ve expected.
Since this film is supposed to be a throw back to the classic films like “Gone With The Wind”, I thought she would have gone with a more glamorous ‘old hollywood’ style. I would have loved to see her in a long dress with her hair pulled pack, instead of a mini dress with peep toe heels. But oh well, she still looks nice.
#13 - Kidman shouldn’t tell the world that she is all natural when it is obvious that she is shooting up her forehead - no lines - no expression - that’s your first clue. I don’t care if women use it. I think it is foolish after seeing the warning labels on the boxes that contain Boxtox in them. It’s pretty hazardous stuff.

It really starts to annoy. I don´t know if she has been using botox in the past, but she certainly is not using it now. And also it is the inner values that matter, don´t you think? And she is amazing. she is a wonderful person an intelligent, talented, warm - hearted and lovely woman. Who is beautiful inside and out.
And she has such an incredible aura, charisma. She is purely glowing and so incredibly gorgeous. She is pure happiness and I am so extremely happy for her.
It is not our business to judge that and who cares about such shallow subjects? Her performances are always beyond great and she will be overwhelmed with nominations and awards for Australia.

#29 yes Australian press are saying the film is good, then I think it probably bodes well for it’s reception in other countries. I think it’s defintely a Best Picture contender at the moment, but we’ll see how the American media react (and British media as well, as far as BAFTAS go).
Same old haters congregate whenever there are new Kidman photos. Once you see their names, you know exactly what they’re going to say even before you read their rantings. Same old stuff.
I liked Nicole’s press conference look better than her premiere appearance. Even with the diamond bracelets that seem to be made from her Oscar necklace, I think she could have used some earrings, and I like the long hairstyle less. But she’s a lovely, classy woman, and I wish her well.

I know of someone who has worked with celebrities, and as a fan, they have said you really never want to know the celebrity you worship on a personal level because you WILL be disappointed. To say that you know her inner values is really going out on a limb. You also don’t know if a person is truly happy unless you are behind closed doors. Remember, it all goes back to Joan Crawford - people said the same things about her, and well, the truth came out eventually, didn’t it?

This is a much better dress than the press conference dress. That dress was rather inappropriate for the event. Her boobs would have fallen out if she’s raised her arm very high. She should have kept the jacket on.
From the reviews so far, it sounds like the little boy & the landscape are the real winners.

I think she looks lovely. I notice that her hair is going a bit gray, not that thats bad, so is mine. I don’t think that white strapless was the best color. it washed her out. It would have been fabulous in turquiose, or emeral green… just a thought.. I do love the white dress and bracelets she wore to the premire. Fabulous.

SHe’s saying that now to save face because she knows it’s coming to an end for her career. She’s already been labeled box office poison, now she’s carrying a 130 million film on her back which will most likely not make its money back. What’s more, she stupidly ruined her face with plastic surgery, that’s death for any actress that wants to have a long career anyway because directors stop hiring you eventually because you don’t look like a real older person that they want. It’s why Katherine Hepburn, Judi Dench, Diane Keaton and Meryl Streep have been smart to age gracefully. It’s how you keep worrying. But Nicole got so worried about ageing and not keeping perfect porcelain skin that she let her shallowness get the best of her instead of worrying about her craft. I see it continuing to go downhill for her so she might as well have waited until now, when her career is lagging to have children.

I love the irreverent Australian style at premiers, never over the top. Simple glamour is the most difficult, especailly on a blocks long red carpet in the rain and humidity.
Cocktail attire will do in Sydney, anything else would be frowned upwn. The dress and bracelets were a perfect choice.
Fashion must honor culture and the Australians have no time for pretentiousness of any type.

Flying home to Australia, over 22 hour flight, exhausts me to a near comatose state. I can’t imagine doing all this a few hours after landing!

Nicole looks amazing considering the reality, just had a baby 4 mths ago, time changes, international air travel and a 14 hour day. It’s humid mess in Sydney too. Not the best for curly hair.

Well, I think she looks stunning. Elegant. Classy. ETC.
I have had drinks with folks that work behind the scenes in the film industry during films being shot in Chicago and although I don’t ask them outright about the actors/actresses, I have asked them “who are your favorite actors to work with?”
The funny thing about the answers is that they have always said Kidman, Jolie, Pitt, Clooney, Damen among others. Many of “America’s Sweethearts” are missing. When I’ve asked why–they’ve said these guys are true professionals. They don’t waste anyone’s time. They aren’t divas on the set. BUT more importantly they treat the folks behind the scenes as people. They know their names, spouse’s names etc. Not one person has ever had anything bad to say about any of the above.
So, I love Nicole Kidman’s body of work. I like her quirky, non mainstream choices. They make you think. They are not for everyone. Birth is a tremendous film and is starting to appear on some Top 100 films of all time. The controversy around it, which was totally blown out of proportion, had the mini-van majority up in arms judging it without EVER even seeing it. Fur is also wonderful and Margot at the Wedding superb–it had great crtical acclaim and reviews.
I also think she is classy and elegant.

yes the HR review sound really great. I always trusted Baz. I know he is a genius and a perfectionist and that is why I had no doubt about the greatness of the movie. So to me the reviews are just something like a confirmation lol.
Kidman for Oscar
Nicole is a beautiful and elegant woman, very classy. I think she pretty much looks her age but is still beautiful. A few thoughts though. I’ve always felt she looked best as a redhead since the pale blonde shades wash her delicate complexion out too much. The red shades always gave her more fire and sparkle. I also like her hair softer and fuller around her face. Never liked the tightly ’skinned back’ look on her - too severe and one that does tend to ‘age’ her face.
She looks 41 BUT she looks great. Sure is older and looks older, but that does not matter. She looks wonderful and great.

For the record, Nicole Kidman was covered in head-to-toe freckles before she hit Hollywood (google: BMX Bandits). Obviously, she’s had laser surgery (hence the need to stay out of the sun). She was also a smoker, which would’ve done no favours for her skin. There is an awful lot of work going on there - botox, laser and cosmetic surgery.
She is as far from “natural” as anyone I know.

I know someone who was an extra on the Australia set. He said Hugh Jackman could not have been funnier, friendlier or nicer to everyone on set, even the extras. He also said Nicole Kidman smiled twice the whole time (must be an effort anyway with all that botox) and would not speak to anyone. Yeh, real warm-hearted and lovely, Number 24. She’s a fake inside, just like the outside.
Great pictures! Jackman is so handsome! And Nicole looks happy and beautiful (needs a touch up on her gray), but hey, we all can’t be perfect! It is nice to see Nicole looking happy and healthy and not all stoned face and sad.
Why do they keep taking her in movie roles? She has no box office pull and starting to look really creepy lately. Its a turn off to go see a movie with Kidman as the lead.

It seems to be that if anyone has an opinion other than how “stunning” Nicole is, we get shot down in flames. It’s an opinion people, that’s all. What is attractive to you, may not be attractive to me and vice-versa. That said, we really can’t overlook the botox. Aside from that, all is good with the world. :)

I have only seen the shorts for “Australia” but I keep thinking that an English actress (maybe Keira Knightly?) should have played the lead role of Lady Sarah Ashley. It would have seemed more authentic as Nicole’s English accent does not sound right to me.
They look good!! George St Greater Union is overrated…it’s not even megaplex!! They only have the premieres there because it’s in the city. I was there last week trying to find a movie to watch…not a lot to choose from with times and all….
