Country superstar Taylor Swift has the #1 album in America, ya’ll!!!
The 18-year-old singer/songwriter’s sophomore effort, Fearless, sold 592,000 copies in the last week, the largest opening U.S. sales week in 2008 by a female artist and the fourth biggest overall, behind Lil Wayne, AC/DC and Coldplay.
Universal Music Group, the world’s biggest music company, also just has signed an international marketing and distribution deal with Taylor’s label Big Machine Records.
“She is by some distance the biggest breakthrough for an American artist in America over the last year,” executive vice president of Universal Music Group International Max Hole tells Reuters. “I don’t really see her as a country artist. If you listen to the records and see her play live, she has much more in common with acts like Avril Lavigne and Miley Cyrus.”

dood, taylor did not get #1 cuz ppl felt sorry for her. she probably has more fans than the jonas brothers. a lot of the jb fans are just girls who are very loud and obsessive. taylors first album did very well too, over 3 million sold. didnt she also get a grammy nod? does anyone else see the jobros gettin that?

congratulation taylor you deserve it because you work hard .music industry is not easy but you make it work. thank for the input on your realtionship i like that you stay true to yourself and didnt let joe change who you really are an honest person. i bought your album the same day it came out and i thought the songs were beautiful i like the poster with the cd that the dress is beautiful and you look fantastic you are tall just like models but you do look like a model even if you dont model you are really pretty.
your performance was wonderful i like when artist make the production of the song come to live that takes talent hey and justin gaston look so hot as your prince charming. i loved when you change your dress and came out with the white one i was blown away by the performance you did great taylor. i like you put so much thought into your performance go taylor let them know who is the boss.
