Here are some great soundbites from Britney Spears’s upcoming MTV documentary, Britney: For the Record, premiering next Sunday, Nov. 30 @ 10PM ET/PT. Via EW:
On Justin Timberlake and Kevin Federline (whom she refers to as “my babies’ daddy”): “With Justin, he was a part of the magnitude of what I had become. So when he was gone I was like, What am I supposed to do with myself? I was devastated [by the breakup] but I handled it a lot better than the [split] with Kevin….He started to do an album for himself and he started to do things for himself, and I just never saw him anymore….When it ended I felt so alone. I didn’t really wanna think about the reality of it. I never faced it….I just ran.”
On recovering from her 2007 meltdown: “My trust has really been battered….Sometimes it can get kinda lonely….I had totally lost my way. I lost focus. I lost myself. I let certain people into my life that were just bad people…because I was lonely….I really paid the consequences for that. Big time….What the hell was I thinking?”
On fame: “At first, it’s amazing, the first year or two, because it’s like, I’m a celebrity!….It didn’t really touch me until I had been working for six years….I wanted to just stop. I wanted to create a new life.”
On the current state of her life: “Do I know my life is weird? It’s all I’ve ever known. I don’t see it as being weird….I’m kind of stuck in this place and I’m like, How do you deal? I just cope with it every day….It’s better not to feel anything at all and have hope than to feel the other way….It’s bad. I’m sad.” She breaks down into tears. Later, she complains that her life is too in control these days: “It’s like Groundhog Day every day. It’s really boring….Normal is really different for everybody….In my situation, I try to make it as normal as possible for me….It could be a lot worse. There are people out there who have it a lot worse than I do….I used to be a cool chick but I feel like the paparazzi has taken that away from me, like, the way I used to live my life. I used to be a cool chick but I’m not anymore.”

I agree with Ashley that this is sad. but it’s also incredibly boring. I don’t want my entertainers to be soul-searching in my face- I want them to entertain.

No matter what they say, Britney’s in my heart. I always loved her. It’s just sad about her situation. But i was in that situation in my life. I got lost, then i was in too controlling situation from someone. I really really hated it. But i fought through and got my life back. Now i enjoy every bit of the freedom that i have. I really feel for her right now. It sucks to be without freedom.
Brit is mentally ill and that will probably not change.
Most likely she will never catch the “fame” she had before her breakdown. She is no longer that young 20 something year old.
I would think her best bet would be continue to get the help she needs before trying to get back in the “spotlight”. What she has done so far is a bit premature and if it fails….she could be back to the old breakdown again.

The first time we saw Kevin is when the paparazzi were at the beach photographing sharks Britney walk up to them!!!Britney problems with the paparazzi is of her own making she loved every minute of it and to sing songs about how she hates it is as real as her hair and lips.

Brit needs to sit down and shut up. Nobody cares about these ~revelations~ that she should of had a long time ago. Her marriage was a mistake? Ya think? She was out of control? Really now? She’s not cool anymore? Wow how sad - not. Question: why is this middle aged woman worried about being cool? She needs to focus on being a good mother to the innocent children she gave birth to. It is no longer about her.

interestingly, she doesn’t blame herself for her situation. she thinks due to paparazzi she is not the cool chick anymore. she looked like a wreck with or without paparazzi taking her pictures.
As I work another 10 hour day just to get by, I will think of poor poor Brit…
thats so you, people. The majority here loves when they’re famous, don’t have problems, but in the minute chaos comes to their lifes, you just…abandon that person. That’s really sad…

I do feel sorry for her, she made poor choices marrying the wrong man and then behaved like a nutcase thats true,but it sounds to me that she was just a naive girl who was surrounded by wealth and fame but no real love, then she met kevin and fell madly in love with him, it can happen to anyone… she was obviously devastated when he was gone . I think britney is a sweet soul but she is just lost… feeling lonely can be such a terrible thing and some ppl are just not strong enough to deal it by themselves.
At least she is trying to make it right this time… which is great because her kids need her, i wish her the best.

I think what Britney doesn’t see is that “control” she is talking about is helping her. She wants to be “free” but that’s just going to lead her down again.
Maybe it’s because she isn’t 100% better yet, she’s getting there. She’s doing more work now, and hopefully she gets back to her whole self again.

I can’t wait to hear her fake valley girl voice and her scripted interview. I wonder how many hours daddy and her management spent prepping her so she won’t say ya’ll and sound like a complete hick.
Her face has been looking strange lately. I never noticed how huge her forehead is. Her face used to be pretty when she was younger. She’s losing her looks.
So, I’m a paparazzi, and a damn good one. Whether the reason for brit’s insanity is our fault or not, you people need to get a life. The fact that I have a job is ridiculous. I don’t watch TV or read the tabs, unless its work related. I’ve made a lot of money from shots of Brit, and it disgusts me, since Brit is a normal girl of this generation. She parties, she gets fucked up, and that is NORMAL. She’s a really down to earth person, and doesn’t put on a face because of the media like most of the people I shoot. The day I lose my job because people finally realized they need to worry about their own life’s and not some dumb ass star, is the day I gain faith in humanity.
