Rihanna: My New Wrist Tattoo is Tribal!
Rihanna shows off the new tattoo on her right wrist at a party sponsored by Gucci called the Tattoo Heart Collection to Benefit UNICEF at NYC’s Plaza Hotel on Wednesday. (Boyfriend Chris Brown has a matching one, as well as matching clusters of stars on their necks.)
The 20-year-old Bajan beauty said she got the Maori-inspired geometric design in New Zealand and explained, “It’s tribal. It represents strength and love. It’s their traditional way of tattooing. I always wanted [one]… [But] it hurt like hell!”

I gotta echo Wikitoria - Maori tats are not just for anyone, you have to understand the meaning behind the designs.
RIALIEN!!!! She really looks like a alien here. Her hair looks like she has a chia pet on her head. Don’t like either of the dresses or the tats. A lady shouldn’t mark her body like that. it’s unattractive and when her skin gets old and wrinkly she’ll regret those tats. or when chris drops her non-talented azz.

Im from New Zealand and I think it’s great that she wanted to get a traditional maori tattoo, I don’t know much about the maori culture. But I think it’s nice that fact that she chose a tattoo with a meaning behind it, instead of just chosing one based on it just looking cool.

It doesnt look like a genuine Maori tattoo, she may have had it done backstage in New Zealand but it looks more contemporary than traditional.
One article I read talks about it being done “traditionally” too, if that’s the case, it will look different because it would’ve been done old school style … tap tap with bone chisel and hammer.
Having had a whole arm sleeve done that way, I can also verify how much it hurts.
The tattoo looks fake because it’s still quite fresh, it hasn’t healed yet!

its maori and dont say it was fake cause i live in new zealand and my friends uncle did that tattoo for Rihanna and I think chris brown??? but yea after she got the tattoo my friends uncle and some of his family were invited to see them backstage!!!!!
Dang, these bloggers are hating bad. I think Rihanna looks beautiful in all the pics. And tattoos give people a uniqueness and you’ll always have a story to tell. I have three tats and I know that I will get two more. Maybe more. It said that she wanted to get the tattoo done the original way, but it’s more painful than the needles. Ppl are getting it misunderstood with her saying that the needles hurt. If that was the case, then why would she keep getting them. I think ppl come on these things personally 2 hate because maybe they are unhappy with themselves. I absolutely love Rihanna.

I love her tattoo an my friends uncle did their tattoo and im not lying!!!!! in telling the truth bcoz we had a skool mass on thursday and this boy named keanu came in and i lookd @ his jumper and on it had a sticker that said chairs brown and rihanna concert. backstage guests and then it had like stamped guest with these numbers next 2 it!
Rihanna is a beautiful girl. People hate on her because of jealousy. Her hair looks good.. She looks good in everything she wears. Shes not worried bout folks hatin though..
