OlderHugh Jackman Covers Vanity Fair Italy
People’s Sexiest Man Alive Hugh Jackman puts on his boxing gloves for the latest issue of Vanity Fair Italy.
In his upcoming outback flick, Australia, there are some pretty hot scenes between him and costar Nicole Kidman, also a dear friend of his wife, Deborra-Lee Furness. The mag asks him about it and Hugh responds, “Nicole and I have known each other for a lifetime. We talk honestly with one another. I had the opportunity to see Australia earlier this week and it is magical. Admittedly, it’s not as fun/quirky as director Baz Luhrmann’s Red Curtain Trilogy (Strictly Ballroom, Romeo & Juliet, Moulin Rouge) and it clocks in at a whopping 2 hours 45 minutes. But for some reason, it didn’t matter! Every scene had a tender moment to dwell on, gorgeous cinematography to stare at or a shirtless Hugh dousing himself with a bucket of water. These highly staged and photoshopped pix are an attempt to make Hugh look exaggeratedly masculine.
He’s a good looking guy, but candid photos of him tell a somewhat different story. He’s a song and dance man in reality, and acts like one.
Cate Blanchette is a better actress. Naomi Watts may be better drama actress, but she’s never been in big budget movies. She’s been only in smaller drama roles. You need big names to carry projects like this. Nicole was able to give her time and energy for this. She was well known for her work ethics; will do so as demanded by the directors. I have never expected her to be this physical with horse riding etc. JMO.
The illusion effect of fame. The ONLY thing that makes this man “something” is: he’s famous. And he was in a movie. The illusion is the image, the image is the illusion. And the anonymity of it all is what keeps it going. This guy is a character in a movie (which is make-believe), he’s a few glam shots, a dream. And most of all, he’s safe - safe because, in fact, you have no idea who he is. He’s safely remote, distant, no threat. You can drool but he can’t hurt you… or even bore you. You know, like a real person.
The sad thing is, people fall for it. And give up their own dignity.
If this guy were your next door neighbor, and maybe was letting his St. Bernard crap all over your lawn, and practicing on his drum set at three in the morning, with the windows open, not a single person who has confessed to “drooling” over the empty image presented here would feel anything but utter repulsion at him.

Thanks Jared, these photos of Hugh are great! We really appreciate it since we may not find the magazine outside of Italy. I really like how the photographers gave him a little more of a Mediterranean vibe. When I first saw his movie “Someone Like You” with Ashley Judd, I always thought Hugh would have a great time in a fun movie as a Côte d’Azur frenchman or a Cinque Terre Italian, preferably a food and wine movie! And much as Hugh frequently talks about food and wine in his interviews, I’m still at a great loss as to why he did not produce a food movie as his first venture instead of that dreadful “Deception” movie he did. He has a big future ahead of him, so I’m hoping he will sometime, haha…Keep the Hugh photos coming Jared! And so thrilled that you also met Hugh too this week! Good-on ya!

I have seen countless interviews of Mr. Hugh Jackman and parrazzi taking photos and video of him on the street. Hugh is as gorgeous as you can imagine. He is tall, muscular, and very sexy. A good father
You can’t photo shop live interviews or street videos. Hugh did loose alot of weight during the time he was on broadway playing the part of Peter Allen the gay guy. It was necessary to be skinny. Now he is back to his normal weight. Hugh is gorgeous.
