Beyonce ‘Puts a Ring on It’ at the AMAs
Uh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh…
Beyonce (in Armani Privé) performs her anthem “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)” at the 2008 American Music Awards at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday.
Jimmy Kimmel returns for the fifth time as host for the two-hour show. Other performances included: Christina Aguilera, Kanye West, the Jonas Brothers, Mariah Carey, Miley Cyrus, New Kids on the Block, Coldplay, Leona Lewis, Alicia Keys, Sarah McLachlan, Taylor Swift, Pink, Ne-Yo and Annie Lennox.

Beyonce is in a different class on her own. She never lip syncs…the only time she doesn’t see is when she uses backup singers for her vocals so she could dance. She is always amazing live. I guess that’s why she made $80mil lol.

Like Beyonce or not, you have toadmit she is low profile a lot in her personal life, keeps out of of the gossip pages ,and does not show up on my tv expressing her high school education like oh, Tom Cruise, and so many other entertainers who we do not need to hear from. Beyonce keeps her opinions about things to herself.

I was very impressed with her performance and I am not normally a fan - I think I might go out and get her album. Whoever said the rest of the show was boring got that right, but Beyonce really liven things up with that performance.

You better be joking…Rihanna has a lot to learn from Beyonce. Rihanna does have some really good songs, I enjoy her music but you can not compare these two ladies. I dissed Beyonce in the past because I don’t like the way she talks and I thought Jay Z was not the best match for her, but I know I was just being petty. She’s a very decent girl. She just has her head on straight and no one can deny it. I love her strength. I still don’t care for Jay Z, but time will tell if he is good to her because I doubt she will put up with any mess from him.
As for her performance on the AMAs. It was actually the best performance of the night if you ask me.
There were many great acts. This was finally a great awards show because it was like a concert and people were dressed nicely and acting classy. They should always do that. The show wasn’t overrun with a lot of rappers or rockers who are high on drugs who come out on stage looking and acting stupid.
Pink was awesome by herself and with Sara McLaughlin (unsure of spelling) Their voices were like angels. Annie Lennox was also fantastic.
Mariah Carey is a great singer but she still has stage fright. You can see that she does not relax in front of her audiences anymore. She looks so self conscious, tense and embarrassed. I thought married life would help her, but I think she’s still suffering a little from when she had a nervous breakdown.
A great night with wonderful talent.
