New ‘Benjamin Button’ Stills!
Check out these awesome new stills of Brad Pitt as Benjamin Button and Cate Blanchett as his love interest, Daisy, in the upcoming time traveler’s tale The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.
The film was adapted from the 1920s story by F. Scott Fitzgerald about a man who is born in his eighties and ages backwards. Fifth picture below: A healing preacher (Lance E. Nichols, left) seeks to help Benjamin (Pitt, sitting) who has been brought to the convocation by Queenie (Taraji P. Henson, center).
Button opens everywhere on Christmas Day, December 25. Check out the official movie site at BenjaminButton.com.
The Hollywood Reporter calls the film “an intimate epic about love and loss that is pure cinema.”

OT: Too funny. Surely, not the dog Movie
Star magazine reports, “Scientologists always go in droves to watch Tom’s movies-only this time it’s on an international level.”

The Star needs to stop stealking my schtick!
BTW - Why do these stories keep forgetting there’s an Adam Sandler movie opening on Dec 25, too? I’m NOT an Adam Sandler fan and I actually thought the trailer looked cute. Very kidcentric in the vein of A Night In the Museum.
============================================
 Hey PT, there are so many movies coming on out 12/25, it is just crazy. I agree thought the trailer for Sandler movie looks cute as well, but I don’t like Sandler. Crazy Tom movie is going to get buried on the 26th lol

That’s too bad for Nicole. It seems like she jumped the tracks when she was caught on video smoking cigarettes; immediately after that, she seemed to go ape$h!t with the Botox. I thought about seeing Australia on Wednesday, but why should I engage in the same behavior as Scientologists and fanistons just because I felt pity for Nicole?
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
I have always found Nicole kind of boring in movies. She is like Gwenth P. to me I never quite understood the hype. Now Nicole is just hard to look at. Her top lip does not move and her face is boxtoxed to high heaven.
Good afternoon to all BAMPZSKV fans. I hope you are having a good Saturday. Hey Neleh, guli, PT, irma, alexanderina, jill, piper with a low
LLM, an oldie, I hope everyone is well.
I just want to wish HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO PAX. May you and your family be blessed with many more. Peace
The Maddox and Pax Kung Fu video is too funny.
Happy 5th little Pax!!!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY PAX!!!

Nicole like Putrid and X are all famous by association. None of these women were famous before certain men came into their lives. This is why the hype around them is so unbelievable. And that’s why so many people were pissed off when Putrid got the Oscar instead of Cate. I think this is why the Academy nominates her if she even breathes these days. They are trying to make up for ******** her over. That has to be the reason, because frankly I can’t understand how she got nominated for that shlocky Elizabeth movie last year.
ITA abt Nicole being famous by association. Don’t understand how the Academy voted her best actress for The Hour. She was just wearing her usual non expressionless cold facade plus a stupid nose. The Oscar people are losing credibility for selecting actors and actresses for reasons other than real acting - look where she is now - box office poison, together with GP.
Leo @ 11/29/2008 at 3:23 pm
Exactly…ITAWU But if I had to pick one over the other I’d pick NK anyday…I can’t stand GP well we all know how I feel about X so I won’t go there
I guess Brad will be on Larry King, don’t know the date. BTW when is the annual Newsweek Oscar Roundtable? You know why I’m asking that question …right??? Both of them there..maybe?

ITA. I would pick NK too, of the three she is the only one who doesn’t throw other people under the bus to stay famous. And in her profession that is certainly admirable. It’s too bad she had to turn to freezing her face and disfiguring her lips to remain relevant in hollywood.
Nicole has a lot more talent than those two women.

I wanted to go to the movies this weekend, but there was nothing new that I really wanted to see. Four Christmases wasn’t an option for several reasons: 1) JV is in it 2) I’m not a huge Reese Witherspoon fan 3) Vince Vaughn seems to be in a rut, role-wise 4) It’s a Warners flick 5) The trailers didn’t look funny 6) The bad reviews and 7) The allegation that VV skimmed money from the production budget.
That’s a total WTF, given that he has plenty of money as it is and that it’s wrong and hypocritical, given his mom surrendered her broker’s license when her clients were scammed by an investor.
annon: you’re so obvious, you’d choose Charlie Manson over Brad Pitt too, I expect.
awww…screamingangie made a Birthday video for Pax..too cute :-)

Most actors and actresses win an academy award not of their talents because they love them. I’m tired of Cate Blanchett and Meryl Streep every year they got a nomination for an Oscar. Let’s not that Cate is Box Office poison, too.

I think that the roundtable is usually in January. However, I think that it’s doubtful that either will be at the roundtable. They were there for the last two years and TPTB may not want to be accused of favoritism, although both are getting accolades for their recent roles.
As for Nicole, I hope she can turn things around, starting with not mangling her face any further. And also, I think, like her ex-husband, she needs to stop going for large-scale, splashy movies. She started getting notices for small flicks like Flirting and To Die For; she should think about revisiting that territory in age-appropriate roles.
piper, with a low @ 11/29/2008 at 4:20 pm
ITA re NK…she really should consider her choices of films she makes…it’s obvious she can’t carry a movie alone like Angie can, but she can be good if she picks the right roles JMHO!
Checking in t say “Hey” to all the JP fans!
I was hoping there would be a new thread for Pax’s birthday.
Oh well I’ll be back!

Nic won for The Hours because she got shafted the year before. The Academy is bad about doing stuff like that. She should have won for Moulin Rouge but musicals will never win Best Actress and the Academy gave it to Halle Berry won for Monster’s Ball - which, as Denzel noted when he won later in the evening for Training Day, “UH-HUH…GOT US ALL IN THE SAME YEAR, HUH?” Because really…Denzel was better in Malcolm X…but Al Pacino got the sympathy Oscar that year for The Scent Of A Woman. Denezel was better in Hurricane, but Kevin Spacey won for American Beauty. Frankly the year Denzel won, Russell Crowe (A Beautiful Mind) and Sean Penn (I Am Sam) were both better, but Russell won the year before and is a big PITA and the Academy was still punishing Sean Penn for being…well…a PITA… So Sean won 2 years later for Mystic River because it was a Clint Eastwood flick and he had Clint’s support - which counts for a lot in the Academy. Penn was definitely better in I Am Sam, Dead Man Walking and Sweet and Lowdown. So basically look for winners to be people who’ve gotten shafted in the past…

Personally…I’d rather they skip the Newsweek Oscar Roundtable. Because both times they’ve done it - THEY DIDN’T GET NOMINATED! Frankly the Oscar telecast and ABC need them more than they need the noms.

ROTFLMAO. JV is in this movie, too? Fcuk. He’s starting to be like Michael Caine was 10 years ago! Didn’t matter what the movie was - Michael Caine was in it! Then again…Michael Caine is a much better actor than JV…
BTW - ITA with all your reasons for not going to see Four Christmases. I am NOT all that fond of Reese W. I don’t know if it’s the overbite, the chin or the fact that she’s cultivated this sweet little Southern Belle persona…and she’s just as cold and calculation as Nic Kidman when it comes to manipulating her PR. That’s one of the reasons I found the NYT article on Angie so laughable. Angie isn’t the one with a convenient PR-friendly relationship that gets trotted out for photo ops when she’s got a movie coming out. There are many actresses - like Reese, Nic, JLo, X and an assortment of reality show chicks, who are much worse about manipulating the media than Angie is. At least Angie and Brad give the money to charity. The rest of these chicks just go out and buy fake hair and a new Balenciaga bag with it.
Hey PT I need to ask you something. Okay Angie doesn’t have a public relations person, right? She has a lawyer and a manager. Brad fired his pr person that Cindy Person, right? So Brad has an agent at CCA and a manager?
My question is, why does Brad still need an agent? People come to him with scripts an movie offers don’t they? Didn’t Quentin T come to him with the script for IB? What about TOL? BAR? You would think as big as he is now he would not need one. Especially since Angie doesn’t have one. Okay that’s the question. Thanks Peace

Does anyone know if there’s going to be a red carpet for BB? If yes, when? Aren’t the JPs rumored to spend Christmas overseas and isn’t the BB premiere on Christmas Day? Maybe this info is in here somewhere but I’m many pages behind. Thank you!

BB premiere is on Dec 8. in LA.

Thanks! Great, that’s less than two weeks from now. I hope I like her dress.

Thanks PT for reminding me of that NYT piece. That was so fcuking laughable. Most of the article was trash, some of it outright lies. Including the piece about Maddox and the beach. Angie would never call out any razi to come and shoot her and Maddox in some public place. And secondly the photos for Shiloh and the twins were as she said in her interview a reaction to the intrusiveness of the the paps. I highly doubt she and Brad would have done it if it weren’t for the amount of money some sleazy pap would have made had IT gotten a picture. And frankly I agree with her.
Anydisingenuous…..I believe that piece was a PR tactic. Timed right before the major awards season. Just like what happened last year. I don’t want to be a conspiracy theorist but, there are just too many coincidences. Does anyone know if US Weakly was also a source for the smear last year. Because every time there is some major slime US always have their scaly hands deep in the sh*t.

ITA–Oscar roundtable was like kiss of death to both of them… BUT it would be cute to see them at the same table…
How are you PT??? Dina#1 asked me a question a few days ago…I know I can dig it up…but have been busy with all the kids being home… She was wondering re Brad’s management /PRteam and how it relates to CAA etc. I know he doesn’t use Cindy the PR person anymore..but who all does he still have on staff…I know you probably know this.. if you can we both would appreciate . Many thanks in advance .
