People very often forget that who really cares for you should be with you… I hope that if I make it tomorrow and become big… i will go for somebody who cared for me when I was nobody and had no money or celebrity… I do hope… then I don’t know her and don’t mean to judge even if it looks really cliche the waitress and the nouveau rich or nouveau celebre!!

Michael Phelps has spent most of his life training and competing in a swimming pool. He’s a 24-year-old who’s socially retarded, not unlike, say, a medical student or intern who spends years in school. The difference is, MP is an Olympian and a hugely rich celebrity.
In the social/dating arena, he’s doing a catch up.

Despite his success, he’s probably massively insecure with women. I think he’s spent far more time looking at porn than developing his dating skills with women. His girlfriend’s ’style’ might feel familiar and comfortable to him, because she looks as if she stepped off the page (of a porn mag). On the other hand, maybe he’s just got terrible, low brow taste in women.

This guy’s a great swimmer, one of the greatest. He’ll get on with his career, and he’ll grow up. And maybe he’ll eventually find a classier girl to take home to Baltimore. Meanwhile, I hope his ‘handlers’ get on his case. Otherwise, snap, crackle, and popping this kind of tarty girl can only tarnish his commercial image.

I can’t see HOW “Paz” is a good match for Michael IN REALITY. Is THIS another “set up” for P.R. for Mikey? She appears “more cultured” - or should I say “real ******”? I sincerely DOUBT Micahel Phelps is bearying his head in her *!*&% anyway. He SHOULD do better than this *****. What a disappointment.

I’m with Fiona and AG below… The first time I saw Phelps interviewed, my first thought was that he probably has Asperger’s Syndrome, or at least very close to it. What qualifies me to say that? I have it. In his interviews, he has no idea how to talk about his emotions or his life or anything except for swimming. And there’s nothing wrong with that. His life up to this point has essentially been limited to swimming. And he has reaped huge rewards from that, rewards that many of us will only dream of. As Fiona said, he is playing social catch-up. He probably doesn’t grasp the social implications of dating a girl like that. He is still probably adjusting to the attention that he is getting as a world-famous athlete. He’s much more famous now than he was in 2004. A few years ago he got a DUI, and no one really cared. Why should he think that people would care who he dates? And honestly, why should they? Maybe he will be back for another Olympics, but honestly, if I were him, I would probably retire and catch up on some of the things that I would be way behind in, such as dating, social skills, and everything else in life other than being a world-class athlete.

And I also agree with AG’s comment. No one has a clue what this girl is like. She could very well be a smart and sensitive person. A lot of people do things for money. Michael Phelps has done a ton of ads for money. He has “wh**ed” his persona to tons of companies. Is this morally wrong? Is it wrong of him to spout some BS on TV to get some money? Michael Phelps appeared in his underwear on the recent Risky Business parody commercial. He also appeared in nothing but a Speedo in front of millions and millions of viewers all over the world. He is probably a lot less uptight about his body than all of you who are judging him.

Is this girl right for him? I don’t know. Is it a great PR move, especially when it comes to conservative patriots who worship the guy even though they have no idea what he’s all about? Probably not. But the guy is 23 years old. Chill. I’m also 23. Guess what, I’m still growing up, and so is he. And as for the person whose son has AS and who is so disappointed in Michael, how could you possibly pass judgment on someone else whose not exactly the sharpest tack in the drawer when it comes to social skills? Your son will probably make plenty of social mistakes in his day, so you had better get used to it and stop judging MIchael’s every move.

In my opinion, she is not pretty or even the slightest bit attractive to me and I think most asian girls are very hott! She looks just “average”. For sure her boobs are fake but that still doesnt make her face look any better. On the other hand, Michael Phelps is not attractive either! He has messed up teeth and an ugly smile.

No longer my American Hero — mammoth lack of judgement and class. Sorry I wasted my time cheering him on.

Okay, c’mon who are we kidding. Phelps will never marry a hoochie mama looking (and ugly) I must add, Asian Chick. He will screw her and use her and then marry a more decent looking girl like the one he was dating. You just wait and see. Guys with good heads on their shoulders know better than to marry a chick like that. She looks like a stripper. Its a guys un spoken rule, don’t marry a stripper chick, just “F#@! them and leave them. Bring the good girls home to Mama!
