Pregnant Man Soaks Up Spain
Thomas Beatie, aka The Pregnant Man, and his wife Nancy pass through Madrid airport in Spain on Friday.
Nancy carried their daughter Susan, 5 months tomorrow. Thomas recently announced that he is pregnant with the couple’s second child. The new baby is due on June 12.
Thomas and his family continue to make the rounds, going to interview after interview. They are set to make an appearance on a Spanish television show.

Two I personal don’t agree with him having a baby not because he is trans but because I feel it is unfair to have the privilege of being male and the honor of having a baby. I think that it is special for a woman to be able to carry life and in a world where men are consider higher than women in most place to walk around with that privilege of being a man and exploding a woman honor is wrong.
With That being said you people have no Idea about being trans most of you are small minded insignificant being who get your kicks from judging other on issue you know nothing about. Actually, E has a point. You cannot really change your gender. You can change your appearance to make it seem that you are another gender, but in reality, this pregnant person is simply a woman with the appearance of a man. It’s not being ignorant, it’s simply stating facts.

I think its ridiculous that anyone cares. Its not like this is a real man born with *****. I saw the 20/20 interview with this couple and while I agree that this couple should not try to make a buck off of their baby (they were not paid for 20/20 but probably are paid for other interviews), my impression of them as people and parents was very positive. That is what really matters, isn’t it?

What about the cases of people born with both genders male and female parts where do their genders lie when their outsides are both. There are some women who have ****** but their Chromosomes make them genetically male. Meaning that their outside bodies are woman but their insides think that they are male. Does genetic makeup matter which is the body program. Does the outside trump the inside? If you put a TV inside a computer is it a TV or computer. The truth is no matter how much it looks like a computer it will always work like a TV. I am not saying that I agree with the pregnant man because I don’t. I am saying that most Tran’s folks struggle with who they are on the inside and outside from the time they are kids and they respect gender limitations of whomever they choose to be. Most trans men would never ever get pregnant because they understand that men Can NOT have babies, yes I think that it is weird and unnatural for a MAN any MAN to have a baby, but there is nothing that weird or unnatural about transgender people. I think the most Natural thing in the world is to be true to be yourself.

I really hate hearing this person being described as a man. She has ovaries and a womb. She gave birth and is pregnant again. Men cannot do these things and any female to male transsexual would tell you that the idea of having periods, being pregnant and giving birth would sicken them. On top of that in order to get pregnant and stay pregnant she can no longer be taking any hormones, the same hormones which would help deepen her voice and help her grow body hair - something that female to male transsexuals count on. I can only assume that the motive behind this elaborate publicity stunt is money. Indeed she and her partner have gone out of their way to turn the birth of that child into a profitable three ring circus. I guess that it’ll be the same when the second child turns up and when the money from that dries up no doubt she’ll announce she’s pregnant yet again. Pitiful.

#15 - a hermaphrodite is biologically male and female. The situation is out of their control. This person was born 100% woman and still is. It is not man having a baby, but a confused woman who was probably in denial about being a lesbian. A true transgendered person would not keep their ovaries and uterus.
First of all I think that it’s just sad that there are people that are saying that’s its not “natural”, well you know what? It might not be conventional but it’s still natural. Even though he was born in a woman’s body he felt that he was trapped and got a sex change to feel liberated from what he was born into. So is trying to feel normal to your self it is wrong now? All this its not natural its not normal is just pathetic, get over it, it just goes to show how far we have come and how far medicine has come. I think that it is wonderful. Wow, it’s amazing how bigotry and fear comes out in waves when you’r sitting safely behind a computer screen commenting anonymously under a username. She is LEGALLY a he; she chose to keep her female organs so that they might be able to have children that were at least biologically one of theirs. The sperm was donated. Do none of you watch Oprah or read newspapers or magazines?
I find the whole transexual thing very confusing, but I’m not about to pass judgement on someone in a situation that is so foreign to me. I can only imagine how horrible a feeling it must be to feel like you were born in the wrong body - and it must be an incredibly strong feeling to cause one to actually try to physically change genders. That’s not something one does on a whim, people. The world is interested in their story and who knows what kind of professional life they might be able to have after all the publicity surrounding this, so why not cash in?
