DIRECTOR David Fincher is not helping his movie “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” with his imperious ways. “We are working our asses off trying to get Oscar nominations, and he is so abusive that it’s crushing,” said an insider at Paramount. “Whatever we do, it’s not enough.” After an LA screening, Fincher was rude to John Goldwyn, who was running Paramount in the early ’90s when the movie, based on a short story by F. Scott Fitzgerald, was first in development. After Goldwyn congratulated Fincher, “he hit Goldwyn in the chest with his hand and hurt him and said, ‘That’s for you, for not greenlighting the movie when you had a chance.’ ” The picture, which shows Brad Pitt aging backward, relies on computerized effects that didn’t exist 15 years ago. Our insider said, “If we never hear the name David Fincher again, it will be too soon.” A Paramount rep said Fincher was in Britain and couldn’t be reached.

This rumor has been around forever - we bet that you’ve heard it too. A-list celeb, who has a big reputation for being one of the finest men around. Well, in his younger days (even on film), he was still fine, but a bit more pocky. Yes, our leading man had scars from a teenage acne problem. He took care of it though, once he settled down in LA. How? Well, the good old-fashioned way. He paid a doctor mucho moolah to inject fat from his butt into the scars. It worked great though, even if the thought is a bit nasty. Anyway, we met the real deal a couple weeks ago, someone from the doc’s office that assisted on the procedure and she/he set the story straight for us. Remember, LA is essentially a small planet, and nothing stays secret forever!

Lmao! One would think Page Six is new to the Hollywood business with that blurb. As if this is the first time a director works hard to get his movie nominated. Based on shocking true events from the Los Angeles police files and adapted for the screen by J Michael Straczynski, Changeling is a cautionary tale about the abuse of power and the extraordinary influence of one individual on a corrupt system.

Eastwood underscores Tom Stern’s flawless cinematography with his own mournful orchestrations to evoke the twilight years of the 20s, an era of post-war prosperity when families could leave their doors open at night.

Against this impressively recreated canvas of restrictive fashions and vintage cars, single mother Christine Collins (Jolie) raises her nine-year-old son Walter (Gattlin Griffith) by working as a supervisor at the city’s telephone exchange. One weekend, Christine is unexpectedly called into work and when she returns home, Walter has disappeared without trace.

After months of fearing the worst, Captain JJ Jones (Jeffrey Donovan) contacts the mother with incredible news: Walter has been found safe and well in a neighbouring state and is on his way home.

Overcome with joy, Christine races to the train station only to find that the boy (Devon Conti) who claims to be Walter is an impostor.

With the Press swarming and Captain Jones desperate for a happy ending, the mother is forced against her will to take in the child as if he were her son.

“He has nowhere else to go,” Jones whispers, using emotional blackmail as his last resort.

At first Christine agrees but she eventually buckles and threatens to expose the lie. Jones is outraged , despatching her to the mental asylum until she signs a statement agreeing the returned boy is Walter.

Just as all hope seems lost, Presbyterian preacher Reverend Gustav Briegleb (John Malkovich) launches a campaign to release Christine and expose corruption in the LAPD.

Changeling unfolds without fuss or fanfare at the leisurely pace, which has become Eastwood’s style, cutting back and forth between Christine’s story and a parallel police investigation to apprehend suspected child serial killer, Gordon Northcott (Jason Butler Harner).

The two narrative strands collide in a brilliantly orchestrated interrogation room sequence.

Jolie is sensational as a woman on the verge of a nervous breakdown, who screams and shouts for justice, fearful she might not get the answers she craves. We share her sense of outrage when the asylum’s insidious head doctor (Denis O’Hare) threatens to destroy Christine’s resolve with electro-shock therapy.

Donovan is equally compelling as a chauvinistic bully determined to restore his department’s tarnished reputation, complemented by a restrained turn from Malkovich.

Infrequent strong violence and language

I think he did it when he made it big and he might need a bit of a retouch with some more of his butt fat now. LMAO haaaaaaa!
