Brad Pitt brings plaid tidings to the Crescent City

We knew he loved hats. But now Brad Pitt apparently has another obsession. He’s plaid to the bone.

New Orleans’ favorite celebrity benefactors, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were blowing up an Elmwood red carpet Monday night in a cascade of camera flashes.

It was the local premiere of his new film, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, and the dynamic duo, shining brighter than Venus and Jupiter hovering in the night sky, were able to glamorize even a suburban strip mall setting.

Jolie was quietly sophisticated in a boat-neck, knee-skimming, white L’Wren Scott dress, Stuart Weitzman heels and diamond earrings from M.S. Rau Antiques.

As for Brad, he has a wicked sartorial streak. His fashion is as cutting edge as his eco-initiatives.

The three-piece Tom Ford suit, the bushy ’stache, the plaid-on-plaid tie and shirt combination. Well, it certainly was curious.

We give him credit for the mustache. Reportedly, he grew the sandy-brown whiskers for his role in Quentin Tarantino’s film “Inglorious ********,” set to hit theaters in May.

But the plaid on plaid? It was a dizzing blend of 1990s grunge and 1950s tablecloth.

This is the season for checks, but not so much balances. Men’s magazines have been mixing up Buffalo plaid with hunting tartan and lumberjack checks.

Not everyone could pull it off. But not everyone is beautiful Brad Pitt. He just has more “plaid-itude.”

I find it oxymoronic of Pitt to give interviews complaining about giving interviews. If he feels so strongly about being misquoted and misunderstood then he should write a column or post to his own website and quit giving interviews.

Given his lifestyle, and the lifestyle of most celebrities, the constant exposure simply invites snarky criticism. No matter what he says and does someone will snipe.

Personally, I enjoy the snarky blogs. In momus veritas.

I’m not willing to dismiss L’s reports of Pitt P**n; however, L has a tendency to interject her own idiosyncancies into what the JPs can and should do. For example, her suggestion that the JPs would adopt a child prior to the Oscars telecasts back in ‘07, nevermind that neither of them had a movie in contention. L painted the baby bump debut at the Spirit Awards as the ultimate FU to the Oscars, nevermind the fact that we saw the bump at the SAGs and that there were twins in there. She thought that the JPs hanging out with Clint Eastwood was their way of getting Angelina an Oscar nod.

L also have this thing about putting on the pose that she’s a film expert. Actually, she adds the elitist pose as an homage to the Brits, although the Oscars is an American institution. She reported the lukewarm reception BAR received at Venice and yet, she backpedalled when it was clear that audience in this hemisphere thought the movie was funny as h*ll.

Damn hens are losing it. 4 years later and they can’t let go. No wonder ole girl keep getting dump. She is in la la land with the hens.

He is still soooo in love with Jen. But he understands, Angelina was needy and needed a family given her father’s absence so he went with her out of the goodness of his heart. But Jen is the light. Angelina is the darkness. Brad has a big heart so he did a good thing to help with the orphans but he loves Jen. You can just see it.

Angie does not need to cook. Does she have to do everything? She goes to Iraq and Afghanistan, has 6 children, a husband, a huge career, I am kinda glad she doesn’t cook too. I watch the food network there are plenty of people who cook. I am sure they have someone who cooks. Thanks for bringing it up dina#1 its been annoying me for a minute. Really :) Besides cereal is great for the 7 and under group to start their day :) When they get bigger she can make sandwiches geez. When I was little (a hundred years ago) if you dreamed of being a Movie Actor, cooking was not part of the dream!

One more post before I go for a short while. I just love Brad when he is talking to Ann and he is doing his imitation of Angie posing. The look on his face says it all. Plus he says she does it so well and he loves it also.

Words are sometimes the weakest form of communication. Just look at his body language and his smile. That is love. JMHO Peace BBL

Where did i misss the part where shi,viv, and knox were orphans,lol, yeah he loved her so much he decided he didn;t want kids with her and divorced her in 2 secs flat,lol, that january annivesary will be so sweet this year,lol

You girls are mean so I am leaving. But you can’t argue that Brad says “Jen is the fire that everyone warms up to”. Love is love, period. HE loves her. Goodbye!
