Brad Pitt joins CNN’s Larry King on Wednesday to chat about his family, his latest movie, and his continued efforts to help rebuild New Orleans, Louisiana.
On how his kids keep him young (or not): I have so many. No, man, it wears you out. Are you kidding? I’m aging fast.
On why his family draws such attention: It’s quite complimentary. But, you know–and I think it is an interesting family. It’s not your usual family… I’m quite interested in my family, actually, so, I don’t–I certainly don’t see it as anything less than a compliment.
On having more children: I don’t know. I can’t find a reason why not–just yet.
On President-elect Barack Obama: Oh, man. I think, overnight, we redefined what America’s about. I couldn’t be any happier and more hopeful for the–for America, for the upcoming–in the upcoming years.
On the new moustache: (Joking) It’s political, Larry. It’s political. I’m making a stand for men with moustaches. I don’t think they get treated fairly… I’m currently in Berlin [Germany] now, filming a Quentin Tarantino film. And I am a man with a moustache.

Thanks for the video and highlights from the interview. BP and the MIR Project are doing some good work in New Orleans. The houses that are being built are unique concepts with the flavor of New Orleans. The Benjamin Button Movie is getting raves and I am looking forward to seeing it.

Another Gushing Review for The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

If only because I think the story sounds neat and the trailers incredibly cool, I have been anxiously waiting for both media updates on The Curious Case of Benjamin Button along with the film’s theatrical release. With the month now here, I have also begun following the early reviews of the film closely as well and, to my relief, they all have (so far) been positive.
The latest review to surface is gushing and, if you’re not hyped on the idea of aging backwards already, this could get you in theaters during opening week.
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button Reviewed
The good people at AICN have posted a new review for The Curious Case of Benjamin Button that not only compares it to others you might have seen, but also gives it a big thumbs up.
… the film rests on the shoulders of two actors above all others. Cate Blanchett has long since proven herself to be a versatile talent, but part of what she does so well is vanish into her characters. Here, she’s playing a role that doesn’t really offer much in the way of camouflage. Playing Daisy across the span of her whole life, Blanchett has to impart the stages in this girl’s evolution, and she does it with delicacy and real wisdom. Towards the end of the film, as Benjamin reaches childhood, her work just becomes devastating. She and Pitt have an amazing rapport, and his role, which is so technically demanding, could have easily swallowed him whole. But over the years, Pitt’s proven that he’s at his best when he’s being challenged, and he does the best work of his career here. Moving, human, and heartbreaking, he makes Benjamin Button into a real person, not just a novelty.
THE CURIOUS CASE OF BENJAMIN BUTTON is that rare film that manages to encompass the whole of the human experience in a mere two and a half hours, and I feel like I saw it at the right moment in my life. It’s something I’ll return to any number of times in the future, and it’s rich and strange and wonderful enough that I expect I’ll find something fresh in it every time. My profound thanks to every person involved in making this magic live and breathe, and I hope all of you reading this embrace the film the same way when it opens on Christmas day.

Rotf Whatever #11 what is your problem? Brad and Angie are obviously happ. They both seem to be a little gun shy about what they say. Look at what happens when they do talk about how much they love each other. It gets turned around and disected and twisted. And my God he looked so good. Ange is one lucky lady. It’s so funny how I only started being a Brad fan after he left Maniston. I didn’t really like him before. I didn’t get them as a couple and found them both to be pretty superficial. My opinion of him has really bounced 180. Brad’s a terrific guy. It was there all along.

Brad: PLEASE help get a playground in the French Quarter!!!!!! I visited with my little kids last year to help the local economy and was shocked that there are no playgrounds in the French Quarter!!!! I called and email all city officials to bring attention and got nowhere!!! Do they really think that no one in the French Quarter has any kids????

After Hurricane Katrina slammed into New Orleans on August 29, 2005, much of the Lower Ninth Ward in New Orleans suffered catastrophic flooding and the vast majority of its residents lost their homes. Since the disaster, not a single playground has been built in the area, and the children of this part of New Orleans do not have a proper place to play. The Make it Right Foundation, headed by the actor and activist Brad Pitt, partnering with PlayGreen Initiative, will dedicate Kellogg Park on Wednesday, December 3, 2008, aided by donations from Kellogg’s Corporate Citizenship Fund, KOMPAN, Inc., and BNIM, a leading architectural firm.
Nearly $500,000 worth of equipment, landscaping, and labor/services were donated to the park and playground, including a $300,000 KOMPAN donation in equipment, a $100,000 grant from Kellogg’s Corporate Citizenship Fund and services provided by BNIM Architects and John Williams Architects.
BNIM, a national leader in sustainable design and also one of 12 design firms for the Make it Right Project, designed the overall site, and JWA, a New Orleans architectural firm, served as a local collaborator. Both the equipment and the site are designed using sustainable methods and materials that minimize the impact on the environment while providing exceptional play value and a quality community gathering place. The play space will be constructed in an environmentally sustainable way, using local suppliers, native plantings, and natural means to control water flow, thereby reducing pollution, runoff, and other problems associated with asphalt and more traditional playground design. The playground equipment is constructed using sustainable methods including the use of non-toxic, recyclable and environmentally friendly materials. Solar energy will also be used to power the electronic components on the new equipment.
So, while Angie is being hung out to dry for “exploiting” her personal life for fame and monetary gain, Pitt describes himself as “private and wants to keep things close to his chest”? Who was it who told Oprah about Pax peeing in the timeout chair? Who took pictures of his children and their mother’s T & A for publication in W magazine? (by the way, those were some of the worst pics of Angelina that have ever been taken). All you loons who bought the mag and rhapsodized other the pics clearly suffer from the “emperor is wearing new clothes” syndrome. Again, who was it who fake cried in an interview with Diane Sawyer about having family on his mind? Remember the time he talked about Zee’s horrible diaper rash which he describes as almost disfiguring? I guess privacy means different things to some people
And yet, his role in the twins’ and Shiloh’s photo deal with People was conspicuously missing from the CAA sanctioned hit piece against Angelina. I find that hard to believe from the self proclaimed “zen master” of media. He and Aniston are two peas in a pod, cut from the same cloth.
Poor Angelina. No wonder she’s back to looking gaunt again. I realize she wants her children to grow up with a father unlike the childhood she had, but this can’t be healthy for her. Her kids would be better served with a mum who is happy and fulfilled. As long as she stays with Pitiful, her life is going to be miserable.

I know it pays to be titilating, but since Brad never said what you have as a title: ‘I have an unusual family,’ and since what he actually said, ‘it’s not your usual family,’ - you might want to correct that header.
PLEASE.
Otherwise, you become the number one reason of what Brad was talking about — people twisting his words — this family has their words twisted and mischaracterized enough, with all of the jealous haters, trolls, blogs, tabloids and all sorts of bottom feeders with various agendas misinterpreting what they say.

I think he meant he doesn’t like talking about them because when he does, snippets get taken out of context and turn up on celebrity blogs and tabloids where hateful people dissect and twist them ad infinitum. I would feel bad too if I mentioned something about my son and his name and the story ended up on the cover of a crappy magazine. I would want to protect my children from that, just as Brad does. Otherwise I’m sure he would babble on about them because obviously he loves them all immensely and can hardly help himself.

This guy has real charisma and power, but I just don’t get why he is sooooo inarticulate. He must talk to people - all different kinds of people - all day long. So why has he not developed a way of expressing himself that is refined and clear. He needs help. While he is in Germany, or England, or France, or anywhere where people can think and talk, he needs to get coaching in how to talk. Gregory Peck could talk. Bogie could talk. Cary could talk. It’s time for Brad to learn to talk.

Liked when Brad talked about how he did a lot of wild things when he was younger but now is a good time in his life with his family. It is as if he is saying this is where he needs to be in his life. This in not he exact quote but my interpretation of what he said.
Love this man. He is not well spoken as Angie but he has the charisma and the down to earth “good guy” appeal. How can you not love him.
I love listening to Angie speak, she is just so fluid and it seems so natural. They are definitely made for one another.

Anne Heche and her beau, actor James Tupper, are expecting their first child together, her rep tells Usmagazine.com exclusively.
“They are thrilled,” her rep tells Us.
The two first met in 2006 on the set of their short-lived ABC drama Men In Trees while Heche was still wed to husband Coley Laffoon.
“In that friendship, we kind of discovered we saw the world in a somewhat similar way,” Tupper, who was also married at the time, told the Vancouver Sun last year. “I think we both made decisions that were based on the relationships we were in.”
Shortly after Heche announced her split from Laffoon (with whom she has a 6-year-old son, Homer), the two stepped out publicly.
“I wish people could meet her in person,” Tupper told the Sun of Heche, with whom he shares a home in Vancouver. “She has such a sparkle and such a love for people, and she works so hard. She is so dedicated to all the good things.”
Heche told Extra last year that she was relieved that they can finally be open about their relationship.
“We’re so much more comfortable now that our feelings are exposed and everybody knows about them,” said Heche, who will be appearing with Tupper on an upcoming episode of Samantha Who? this season.

“The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” is epic in the best sense of the word. It’s not about set pieces-it’s about scale. It’s not about distance-it’s about depth. Director David Fincher has crafted an epic love poem, a tale of life and death, a story about storytelling. He does it all and does it without soaring trumpets, grand declarations, or even the in-your-face style of “Fight Club”. He does it with character, with pacing, with gorgeous cinematography, and with all the quiet strength and confidence of a much older and experienced artist.
The hook of “Benjamin Button” is that the title character (Brad Pitt) was “born under unusual circumstances.” Specifically, Benjamin is born as a man in his mid-80s and then ages in reverse. Abandoned by his father on the doorstep of an old-folks home, Benjamin is found by the kind-hearted Queenie (secret weapon Taraji P. Henson again reminding us why her involvement in a film is a reason for excitement) who works as a caretaker at the home. We learn of Benjamin’s story through his diary, read by Caroline (Julia Ormond), the daughter of his life-long love Daisy (Cate Blanchett). As Daisy fades away on her deathbed, we walk through Benjamin’s life and see the odd turns of happenstance, opportunity, loss, learning, and above all, love; the unusual circumstances of his life leading to events both common and extraordinary.
Benjamin’s condition is both an after-thought and a symbol on which the entire film turns. We never forget that we’re watching a seven-year-old that happens to look seventy or a sixty-year-old that looks twenty-one, yet it’s rarely distracting. It’s only when we take a step back do we realize the beauty and tragedy of Benjamin’s condition is that his life is on a countdown. He knows exactly when his time is up and it gives an immediate reason to treasure each moment and value every relationship. It’s odd little thing to wake up a day younger and a day closer to death and again, balancing that knowledge is what makes Benjamin such a rich character. The film turns to Benjamin’s age for an occasional moment of levity or poignancy and it always remains in the periphery but the focus of the film isn’t age-it’s life.
What makes “Benjamin Button” such a rich tapestry is that the film has so much to offer. I’m sad that I’ll probably have to wait until Christmas to see the film again but I’m thankful that I’ve at least seen it once. I would like to watch it again with the sound off just to gawk at Claudio Miranda’s luscious cinematography. The film has a look that’s both modern yet timeless with images of Daisy’s ballet or Benjamin at sea painted into my brain. It also does a wonderful job of capturing setting. Like any good epic, “Button” takes place in a variety of locations across the globe, but New Orleans is its home and the city should probably get its name on the marquee along side Pitt and Blanchett. That the framing device of Caroline reading Benjamin’s diary to Daisy takes place on the eve of Hurricane Katrina is slightly distracting until you notice that storms are cleverly woven throughout the fabric of the film, a constant reminder of nature’s terrifying instability yet odd comfort in its inevitability. It may be a symbol for something but I’m not sure what…
I would like to watch the film with the sound off and listen to Eric Roth’s dialogue and Benjamin’s voiceovers that make me feel not only the New Orelans’ drawl but like I’m hearing literature come to life (which works out well since it’s based off a 1922 short story by some guy called F. Scott Fitzgerald). I’d like to hear Alexandre Desplat’s carefully measured score that always supports the film rather than acting as a crutch or a distraction.
But if I closed my eyes or covered my ears, I wouldn’t be able to fully appreciate the performances of the film, chief among them, Brad Pitt as the man with the curious case. Simply put, Pitt gives his best performance to date. Yes, flashier roles like Tyler Durden or Jeffrey Goines get the acclaim but the quiet strength and soul that Pitt puts into his performance is uncanny. He’s not just acting under make-up or through it but actively makes his age a part of his character. A young man born into an elderly body, Pitt thoughtfully portrays Button as a boy who grew up not among energetic children but among the infirm, the dying, and most importantly, the introspective. There’s the saying that “Youth is wasted on the young,” but “Button” makes me think that the opposite may be just as true.
It’s also to Pitt’s credit that he doesn’t let the make-up do all the work because with make-up and CGI this good, he probably could get away with it. All age make-up from here on out has to live in the shadow of “Benjamin Button”. While Button’s reverse aging is his hook, there are numerous characters throughout his lifetime that go through traditional aging and the work done on them is no less impressive. Quality aging make-up to make an actor look older or younger is difficult and “Benjamin Button” makes it look easy.
Playing alongside Pitt sharing is Cate Blanchett, once again effortlessly demonstrating that she’s of the best actresses working today. The film doesn’t need to waste time showing the pros and cons of Benjamin and Daisy. The chemistry and craft between Pitt and Blanchett sells that love for us and it sells because it’s not always active and burning with the passion of a thousand suns. In “Benjamin Button”, it’s not just about acting like your in love-it’s about acting like how a person of a certain age acts in love. The young love recklessly, the mature love confidently, the old love wistfully, and then there are all the complexities in between. It’s a complex portrayal of a complex emotion and one with a rewarding pay-off.
I’ll admit I was tearing-up at the end of the film. This is an epic love story told not simply through singular events but through the entire lives of two people. It’s a love that feels real because it perfectly captures the foolish temperament of youth and the deep sadness of experience. If you need evidence of the film’s success, look no further than the scenes between Benjamin and Daisy. Our instinct to see such May-December relationships is to find them icky and unbecoming but because of the confidence of Pitt, Blanchett, Roth, and Fincher, we always know that these two people are only six years apart in age and it’s their actions that bind them together, not their physical appearances.
With the exception of orcs, “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” has everything I want in an epic and delivers it all flawlessly. It knows when to lean on the strange, embrace the universal, and how to balance everything in between. It is timeless, it is immediate, and it is classic. Its beauty is staggering. Its loveliness is heartbreaking.

I might be in the minority, but the more I look at Brad in his mustache the more I like it. There was a bit on Huffinton Report titled The Return of the Mustache. So maybe Brad is being mustache forward. I know I am in the minority on this one. But IMHO I liked Brad’s plaid tie and plaid shirt combination. The colors were all in the same family and complimented the suit.
I bet we see more combinations springing up in HW. Brad and Angie are trend setters. They have the confidence to try new and different styles of dress. As Neleh would say please no moderation. Peace

When a man looks like Brad Pitt, we tend to underestimate him. We ask him to make a blockbuster a year. Date a beautiful woman. Have a cute baby. And we’re happy.
But he’s not content. As an actor and producer, Pitt, 43, has used his star power to get people to look at places and stories that cameras don’t usually catch. He gravitates toward projects that emphasize we’re all the same on this earth, like Babel, the 2006 multinarrative drama of cultural misunderstanding, in which Pitt plays an American tourist in Morocco. It gave many U.S. filmgoers their introduction to the notion of Pitt as a serious actor, with a range that was wider than gorgeous-to-handsome. In his portrayal of a scared, flailing husband, Pitt managed to do that tricky thing: make audiences forget that he’s a big, handsome Movie Star.

Three years after Hurricane Katrina, the children of New Orleans are still recovering. The struggling school system was devastated by the storm. Most school buildings were destroyed or damaged. Students, faculty and administrators were scattered across the country. Months of living as virtual refugees ended any chance of a normal school life. The physical and emotional effects of coping with this disaster are still present. Extra help is needed to make sure these kids can make the most of themselves through education.
Partners are working right here in the U.S. to provide the programs and services needed in post-emergency situations to allow these children to heal, learn and rebuild their lives.

Colo. man charged with libel over Craigslist posts

ETFORT COLLINS, Colo. – A man accused of making unflattering online comments about his former lover and her attorney on Craigslist has been charged with two counts of criminal libel.
“It’s not a charge you see a lot of,” Larimer County District Attorney Larry Abrahamson said of the 1800s-era state law that can put people in jail for the content of their speech or writing.
Abrahamson charged J.P. Weichel, 40, of Loveland, in October over posts he allegedly made on Craigslist’s “Rants and Rave” section.
The case began when a woman told Loveland police in December 2007 about postings made about her between November and December 2007. Court records show posts that suggested she traded sexual acts for legal services from her attorney and mentioned a visit from child services because of an injury to her child.
Police obtained search warrants for records from Web sites including Craigslist before identifying Weichel as the suspect. Weichel shares a child with the woman.
Weichel, confronted by detectives at his workplace in August, said he was “just venting,” according to court records.
No phone listing could be found for Weichel, and his attorney, Michael Liggett of Fort Collins, didn’t immediately return a message left Monday by The Associated Press.
Libel is commonly seen as a civil case. Denver attorney Steve Zansberg, who specializes in First Amendment law, said prosecutors seeking criminal libel cases could have a “chilling” effect on free speech in Colorado, particularly over the Internet.
Abrahamson wasn’t so sure. He said it is up to police departments to pursue cases.
Zansberg contends the law is outdated, is unclear about stating opinions and is written in such a way that dead people could be victims of criminal libel.
The statute allows prosecution for speech “tending to blacken the memory of one who is dead” or to “expose the natural defects of one who is alive, and thereby to expose him to public hatred, contempt or ridicule.” Criminal libel carries a punishment of up to 18 months in prison.

Pitt shocked at Mumbai terror attacks
New York (PTI): Hollywood actor Brad Pitt has expressed his shock over the recent terror attacks in Mumbai as he and partner Angelina Jolie had stayed in the terror-hit Taj Mahal Palace hotel.
Pitt said it was painful to see the engulfed images of the room on TV, in which he and Jolie had stayed together during their trip to India.
“We stayed in the Taj and we saw the room we stayed in was on fire. I can’t begin to make any sense of it but I’m sure they are doing their best to uncover what was at the base of it,” Pitt told US talk show host Larry King Live.
“It’s an incredible building. It was incredible. India itself is one of the most amazing countries that I’ve ever been to. (CNN) — Brad Pitt has plenty on his plate. The Oscar-nominated actor and producer stars in “The Curious Case of Benjamin Buttons,” which opens nationwide on Christmas Day.
Pitt is also the founder of Make It Right Foundation New Orleans Louisiana, an organization dedicated to rebuilding the city following the damage caused by Hurricane Katrina.
Pitt spoke to CNN’s Larry King about his growing family, the crisis in India and revitalization efforts in New Orleans.

Changeling
So emotionally gripping was the film that, as the viewer, I actually had to remind myself a number of times that it is a true story because it seems that unbelievable. Even more alarming is that the story sticks so frighteningly close to the real story that it is billed as being “a true story” not just “based on a true story”.
Chalked full of Oscar-worthy performances, if Jolie gets overlooked by the Academy (which some predict she will for being‘ too beautiful’ to have portrayed the plain Jane that was the real Collins), it just might be the biggest tragedy of the year. Her anguished, authentic performance far removes her from the superstar face we see splashed across countless tabloid magazines each week and instead, her own experience as a mother of four (she was only just pregnant with twins Knox and Vivienne during filming), seems to lend itself to a performance so real you can actually momentarily forget her celebrity status all together.
Malkovich is incredible as Rev Gustav Briegleb, managing to be completely believeable as the outspoken and outlandish community activist who is determined to expose all the dirty truths of the LAPD during this turbulant period in time. The complete opposite of the type of character you expect to see Malkovich play, Eastwood cast him against his type on purpose he felt it would add depth, and, being right on the mark, this very well could see him scooping up his own Oscar nod because of it.
Lesser known actors Jeffrey Donovan, who plays the conniving Irish-American police captain JJ Jones, and Michael Kelly, who plays Detective Lester Ybarra, the man who finally makes the drastic move that discloses the cover up, are both outstanding in their roles and should be commended for their part in making this outstanding picture what it is.
Eastwood will undoubtedly get some Oscar appreciation for the film and rightfully so. And, going on the basis that no one else manages to make a picture so utterly heartwrenching and soul-moving in the next month, there is a very good chance that Changeling could be Eastwood’s newest Million Dollar Baby.

As for equating hot to happiness ratio. She makes it clear today, at this point in time that Brad has gotten his clearance, yet Angelina Jolie she will keep as her ace in the hole - the beautiful Oscar winning young woman that makes others rally to ‘jen’s’ side. Angelina, the woman that will take the arrows and hits that come her way due to Aniston’s manipulative sneaky potshots
…but we can’t call Aniston ‘catty,’ she says…..hmmm…really?? REALLY?? Not even after describing Jolie’s comments in an almost two year old article as “inappropriate,” not even after saying Jolie’s descriptions of a burgeoning friendship with Pitt was “uncool,” not even after Aniston vaguely says something about “things (she) was unaware of that were happening,” during the MAMS shoot she makes plain, these are “things,” of course that she will NOT elaborate on..Aniston will just be happy to leave it out there for people in her camp to stew on and of course blame the ‘femme fatale,’ Angelina for. Again, because Brad has been absolved by Pope Aniston evidently. Her parting shot at Jolie, is Aniston’s laughing at what she says is “the funniest thing she ever saw,” (a cartoon of her loading up a shotgun to shoot Jolie)…..
…have we arrived at “catty,” yet?? I’d say malicious, vindictive and deceptive is more up Aniston’s alley.
Aniston says the ‘Team Aniston,’ shirts were flattering. Yet she decries the tabloids and tabloid mentality that created them and even infers they are best ignored, and not paid attention to — by posing the old ‘if a bear sh*t in the woods, who would be there to hear it?,’ quandary…. but it’s very VERY clear, that with the aforementioned ‘team’ comment, the moaning about the tabloid speculation, ANISTON HERSELF is the one listening, and sniffing up the sh*t the hardest of us all.

Brad Pitt and his partner Angelina Jolie were so keen to see Barack Obama win the recent U.S. presidential election they flew to his Chicago, Illinois base to watch the votes roll in.
Although both Pitt and Jolie - who spent most of this year in Europe - refused to join other celebrities by publicly endorsing the Democrat candidate during the election campaign, they made sure they were on hand to celebrate on 4 November when the result was announced.
The Hollywood couple even attended the Illinois Senator’s victory rally in the city centre, but made sure they kept a low profile.
Pitt tells U.S. talkshow host Larry King, “I think overnight we redefined what America is about. I couldn’t be any happier or more hopeful for America.
“We were in Chicago in Grand Park. It was an incredible experience - we ended up walking home that night, as all the main boulevards were closed. And just the jubilation in the street was something extraordinary to see.”

Washington, D.C. - Today, Global Action for Children (GAC) announced a $100,000 end-of-year-grant from the Jolie-Pitt Foundation. The structure of U.S. assistance must be rethought so the bureaucracy can be ’smarter’ and target emerging challenges. The Emergency Presidential Initiative for the World’s Children calls for the coordination of all foreign AIDS programs that support children in developing countries to ensure that taxpayer dollars are spent efficiently and reach as many children as possible. Here’s an interview with Brad’s costar in CCOBB, Taraji Henson.
‘Button’ actress: How death gave life to performance
ATLANTA, Georgia (CNN) — Taraji Henson lost her father one year before she began filming “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.”
“You kind of always want to ask, why, why, why now? Why in the height of my career? Everything that he always said would happen to me, he’s not here in the flesh to see it,” Henson said.
The actress — best known for her role as a singing prostitute in “Hustle and Flow” — plays Queenie, the adoptive mother of Brad Pitt’s character, Benjamin Button.
Button is born with an disease that causes him to begin life in his 80s and age backward. The film centers around death — especially through Queenie, who runs a senior citizen home and is surrounded by it every day.
The film is based on a short story written by F. Scott Fitzgerald in the 1920s. It’s said that Fitzgerald based his story on a quote from Mark Twain.
“There’s this beautiful saying in the script about how you have to live life forward, but the only way you understand it is backwards,” Henson said. “I miss my father, and I love him, and I wish he was here, but it was like I had to experience a death of that magnitude to even bring Queenie to life.”
CNN talked to Henson about Queenie, what makes the film intriguing and whom she bonded with on the set. The following is an edited version of that interview:
CNN: What was your reaction when you first got the role of Queenie?
Taraji Henson: I was blown away because I didn’t think I had a shot. It’s a big, major studio film [with] big names like Cate Blanchett, Brad Pitt attached and a huge director, David Fincher. I just didn’t think that they would go for me because I’m not considered a name in Hollywood — yet! Hopefully this movie will do it.
I later found out that, actually, my performance in “Hustle and Flow” got me this film. Laray Mayfield, who casts Fincher’s films, saw me in “Hustle and Flow” and actually called him while she was in the theater and said, “I think I found Queenie.” And, literally, she went to him and said, “You can make your job difficult and watch all of these audition tapes, or you can just hire this girl.” And he trusted her.
CNN: What do you connect with personally in Queenie’s character?
Henson: I think her being a mom and her ability to love unconditionally. How nurturing she is, that’s what I connect to.
CNN: What about the movie intrigues you the most?
Henson: What intrigues me most about the movie is that when it’s real love, it’s forever. You know, Cate Blanchett’s character is aging one way, and Brad Pitt’s character is aging backwards, so they never really find that time when they can get together. I mean, they do, but it’s a constant throughout the whole movie, like, “Oh, when are they going to get together? She’s still too old, he’s still too young, oh, she’s there,” and then they finally get to a great meeting place. But then she’s still aging and so is he, backwards. So …
But when it’s real love, it doesn’t matter which way you’re going. It’s real, and it always stays with you.
CNN: What was the interaction like on the set between the cast?
Henson: We had a lot of fun. A lot of laughs, a beautiful set, easygoing, lots of jokes. Every Friday, we would put $5 in a can, and somebody would pull a number, and they’d get it. Sometimes, Brad would pull a number; sometimes I would. We had a good time, a really good time. We ate out a lot.
CNN: What about working with the director? I’ve heard he’s intense.
Henson: Oh, David Fincher, I just love him so much. I never thought I’d meet someone who sweats the small stuff like I do, and I think that’s where we connect. We’re both obsessive. I thought I was obsessive, and I was like “Oh, God, you take the cake, David!”
But I love that about him. Because when you see the film, if you haven’t, you’ll see that he does not leave one stone unturned. He goes over every grain of salt. He is very meticulous, and that is the type of director you want to work with: someone that is going to make you look incredible.
CNN: Let’s say you were aging backwards, like Benjamin Button in the movie. What one lesson have you learned that you would like to take back with you to adolescence or childhood?
Henson: Patience! Just be patient and have faith. That’s something I’m still learning every day. Because, you know, sometimes you sweat the small stuff, and you spend all that time sweating and gaining the gray hairs, for it always to work out anyway. It always works out, doesn’t it?

Whoever wrote this story needs do a little research. Brad told Larry King that THEY HAVE FINANCING PROMISED FOR ALL 150 HOMES. I would think that homes 85-150 are being funded by the money they were supposed to get from American Idol Gives Back. That would be about $10MIL and AI claimed to take in about $61 MIL for their 6 charities during their charity show in March.

These articles are of a genre which are generated by marketing companies disguised as news organizations. They take prewritten packaged articles about various topics such as how fruits are healthy and vital to your daily intake and then sneakily edit in an advertisement for their client - e.g., Dole Pineaple Company. SOme are more subtle than other and merely add in the specific product and omit the company name. All in all it’s a scam and ethically similar to the supposedly legitimate news media picking up rumors from the tabloid press and internet and repackaging them as real news.
Sorry for the rant but those payday loans stick in my craw since I have seen my clients taken advantage of by those blood suckers and then for them to use Pitt’s great MIR to sell their garbage makes it worse.

It is nice to see Changeling getting some recolonization. It is a very well made film with straight forward direction and Angelina Jolie gave an amazing performance. With some of the blogger smears and attempt to derail the film, Changeling is a movie that is proving above the fray. I am looking forward to seeing Benjamin Button also.

I think I read somewhere, BP did not work for 2 years while married to Whiny. He was working on the Beverley Hills Mansion and the nursery.
However, since both of those did not pan out, he moved on with his life and has the children he always wanted. Life has a way of working things out.

Oscar winner Cate Blanchett says she had to help talk Brad Pitt into joining the cast of their soon-to-be-released film, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.
The movie, which is loosely based on a story by F Scott Fitzgerald, tells the tale of a baby called Benjamin who is born as an old man.
Pitt stars as Benjamin and lives his life becoming younger and younger, while Blanchett co-stars as his ageing girlfriend, Daisy.
The Australian actress says Pitt was initially unsure whether to do the film.
“I don’t blame him,” she told the latest issue of British Vogue.
“I think he was just thinking, six hours, every day, in make-up.
“It’s quite wearisome.
“But we kept saying, `Do it. It’s a really good idea - it’s not The Grinch!”
During the film, Daisy and Benjamin drift apart because of their different ageing processes.
“Really, it’s star-crossed lovers; they can’t always be with each other,” Blanchett said.
“There’s so much yearning - and yearning is the life-blood of film.”
The film, which has already generated plenty of Oscar buzz, is due to open in the United States on Christmas Day.

Fight Club was when they were dating and I think Whiny took on 6 movies after Friends ended. They both had different goals in life and their marriage suffered. However, they have both moved on and Life is good. Peace
Poor Jen has really boxed herself in. She is too busy explaining the Vogue interview and not much on the Dog movie. However, BP and AJ have done a great job in promoting their movies and continuing their humanitarian projects. The more Whiny talks, the more she backtracks. Too funny.

TPH: He’s incredible. Brad is an amazing talent. He hit this one out of the ballpark because he was subtle to all these amazing characters that he encountered. They all made a dent in Benjamin Button’s life.
What did you learn from working with David Fincher on this film?
TPH: In working with David Fincher, I just learned patience. David likes to do a lot of takes, which now I’m a huge fan of. Because of that, I expect a lot of takes now on films knowing the director wants to get the scene right. When it comes to the craft, I can be a bit obsessive. I can go away from the scene and I would still obsess over it. When you get a chance to do as many takes as we did on ‘Benjamin Button’, you can still walk away feeling secure, and yet, I would still find a way to obsess.
Is there any particular scene that stood out for you?
TPH: The most endearing thing for me was a scene where the older looking Benjamin gets scolded for playing with a young Daisy. Daisy’s grandmother comes to scold him because he looks like a pervert. People don’t quite understand his disease. All she knows is that there is this old man playing under the table playing with my granddaughter. She scolds him and they go upstairs and Queenie holds him and breaks it down to him and lets him knows that people aren’t going to know how to treat him and respond to him because of his appearance. I’m a single mother raising an African American son and that’s a conversation that I have had quite often with him about how some people will judge him based on the color of his skin.
Have you been paying any attention to the Oscar buzz you’re receiving for this performance?
TPH: I leave that up to the stars. I’m honored to have my name in that position, but I’m just taking it one day at a time and leaving that up to God.

Pitt’s homes open doors to families
Families are moving into the first six houses built through Brad Pitt’s Make It Right foundation in Hurricane Katrina-ravaged New Orleans.
One home was already strewn with green garland, lights, wreaths and red bows but the Hollywood actor admits there is much more to do.
Pitt said: “I’m really happy for the families that are going to be here, but I can’t help but think about the families that aren’t.
“It’s a push-pull for me. The excitement is that it’s being proven that it’s working. The frustration is that we have a long way to go.”
Make It Right was launched by Pitt a year ago. The programme calls for construction of 150 energy-efficient homes in a section of New Orleans washed away when Katrina broke levees on August 29, 2005.
So far, six homes have been built. Two more are under way, and construction on another 14 begins in early 2009.
Pitt said that by December 2009, the Lower ninth Ward should be one of America’s largest “green” neighbourhoods.
Inez Converse, 71, isn’t concerned about her area setting any records. She’s just happy to be back in the neighbourhood she lived in for more than 35 years before Katrina. And she said she was glad she had the chance to thank Pitt personally.
Pitt descibed his new film, The Curious case of Benjamin Button, as “a love letter to New Orleans”. “There’s a sense of magic here, so it made this fantastic story almost believable,” he said.
Pitt said his fondness for the city led him and partner Angelina Jolie to buy an early-1830s masonry mansion in the French Quarter.

This guy has real charisma and power, but I just don’t get why he is sooooo inarticulate. He must talk to people - all different kinds of people - all day long. So why has he not developed a way of expressing himself that is refined and clear. He needs help. It’s easy to get celebrities to show up for a cause. Follow-through is another matter. When it happens, it makes all the difference.
Take Brad Pitt’s yearlong effort to assist residents of New Orleans’ ravaged Lower 9th Ward return to their own homes. Twelve months ago, amid of blaze of international publicity, Pitt and producer-financier Steve Bing launched a private effort (kicking in $5 million each) to build safe, affordable housing for people who had lost all to Hurricane Katrina’s savagery.
More than a few stars would have basked in the attention and moved on to the next project or fashionable cause. Pitt and Bing have stuck with the 9th Ward throughout the effort. And this week, they were on hand to watch families moving into the bright new homes that guarantee them a future in the city they loved.
Pitt told reporters it was a bittersweet moment.
“I’m really happy for the families that are going to be here, but I can’t help but think about the families that aren’t,” Pitt said. “It’s a push-pull for me. The excitement is that it’s being proven, that it’s working. The frustration is that we have a long way to go.”

“I’ve had at least 10 calls from Hollywood people who have an idea they want to get off the ground now that they feel there is a president in Washington who wants to partner,” said Kristina Schake, a longtime industry politics and policy consultant. (She’s also an advisor to California’s first lady, Maria Shriver.) “Celebrities are longing to be involved, whether it’s on issues like diabetes or domestic violence or healthcare for children. The Obama administration would be incredibly smart to tap into that.”
Pitt and Bing have done more than simply lend their names and money to the New Orleans project, called the Make It Right Foundation. They’ve enlisted a coterie of world-class architects, including L.A.’s Thom Mayne, to design the houses, which cost an average of $150,000 each.
They’ve also made it possible for people of more ordinary means to participate by going to their website, http://www.. You can sign up to simply donate money, or go on a virtual shopping spree, buying such accessories as water heaters and rooftop solar panels for the new homes.
There will be plenty of opportunity in the years ahead. So far, six homes have been built (one of them is already decorated for Christmas). Construction on two others is underway. Work on 14 more is scheduled to begin early next year.
“You’re going to see 100 homes here, mark my words,” Pitt predicted earlier this week. “It’s nice to see a few, but I’m anxious to see 100, 150, 1,000.”
As Pitt told Cause Célèbre in New Orleans a year ago that the notion of home and family always have been of vital importance to him. When he saw the people of New Orleans stripped of both, it struck him not simply as an act of nature or even a tragedy, but as an injustice America could not allow to pass.
“It will be great to see barbecues in the backyards and kids riding their bikes on the streets again,” said Pitt, whose fondness for New Orleans prompted him and wife Angelina Jolie to buy an early-1830s masonry mansion in the French Quarter.
This week was a particularly busy one for Pitt, who also attended a special New Orleans screening of “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button,” which was filmed in the city. (Pitt’s character, Button, begins life as an old man and then grows younger with time. There’s considerable Oscar buzz around the movie and his performance.)
The actor told a local journalist that the film was a “love letter” to the storm-ravaged city that has become his growing family’s home. “There’s a sense of magic here, so it made this fantastic story almost believable,” he said.
He added: “It’s a gorgeous, gorgeous film. It’s a film that makes you want to hug your kids and call your folks.”
Love letters, though, are like activism: They can be beautiful in the moment, but it is the follow-up that counts.

The Emergency Presidential Initiative for the World’s Children calls for the coordination of all foreign AIDS programs that support children in developing countries to ensure that taxpayer dollars are spent efficiently and reach as many children as possible. Ms. Delaney stated, “Establishing an executive-level office to oversee and coordinate foreign assistance programs for children in developing countries will ensure aid is spent on building healthy future civil societies, economic growth and political stability in developing countries-not to mention fulfilling a critical U.S. public diplomacy goal.” Approval ratings of the U.S. have been high in PEPFAR (the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief) beneficiary countries, but it does require leadership in the executive branch.” The EPIWC calls for investments in child survival measures-such as access to inexpensive lifesaving medicines and vaccines-in early childhood development, basic education, and assisting orphans and children vulnerable to war, disease, pandemics, child labor, and sexual exploitation. All children, everywhere in the world, deserve the chance to grow up healthy and safe.
Ms. Delaney stated, “With the holiday season upon us, we hope the generous gift from the Jolie-Pitt Foundation inspires others to give and focus on assisting orphans and highly vulnerable children around the world. Each and every donation can truly make a difference in the life of a child.”

Well, Angelina has described herself as being shy, (Anthony Hopkins has said the same thing about her as well) but she is certainly not INARTICULATE. Being shy CAN make you inarticulate. Not HAS to make you inarticulate. Different people react differently at different times. If a situation is important to you as opposed to a situation you’re either used to or don’t care as much about then you might not be affected in the same way. Really, you don’t know this? A serious project such as MIR can easily instill a case of nerves in someone who can talk more easily about a life long career or when joking around. In serious situations a speaker should be aware that their words matter and be more careful in choosing them. Do I need to go into how someone may perspire in different ways depending on the situation? How differences in their pulse rate? This is not advanced calculus. It is just basic knowledge of life.
Pitt seemed fine. It was early and NOLA was chilly that morning. Maybe he needed to warm up. I don’t make my best arguments first thing in the morn ing either. Get a life and lay off this man who is beyond reproach on this matter. It matters not what fancy words he uses. What he is DOING is what matters.

It’s easy to get celebrities to show up for a cause. Follow-through is another matter. When it happens, it makes all the difference.
Take Brad Pitt’s yearlong effort to assist residents of New Orleans’ ravaged Lower 9th Ward return to their own homes. Twelve months ago, amid of blaze of international publicity, Pitt and producer-financier Steve Bing launched a private effort (kicking in $5 million each) to build safe, affordable housing for people who had lost all to Hurricane Katrina’s savagery.
More than a few stars would have basked in the attention and moved on to the next project or fashionable cause. Pitt and Bing have stuck with the 9th Ward throughout the effort. And this week, they were on hand to watch families moving into the bright new homes that guarantee them a future in the city they loved.

Pitt told reporters it was a bittersweet moment.
“I’m really happy for the families that are going to be here, but I can’t help but think about the families that aren’t,” Pitt said. “It’s a push-pull for me. The excitement is that it’s being proven, that it’s working. The frustration is that we have a long way to go.”
Others have similar thoughts, which is why members of President-elect Barack Obama’s circle of advisors are floating Pitt’s experience as a new model for celebrity activism that the incoming administration would like to encourage.
“I’ve had at least 10 calls from Hollywood people who have an idea they want to get off the ground now that they feel there is a president in Washington who wants to partner,” said Kristina Schake, a longtime industry politics and policy consultant. (She’s also an advisor to California’s first lady, Maria Shriver.) “Celebrities are longing to be involved, whether it’s on issues like diabetes or domestic violence or healthcare for children. The Obama administration would be incredibly smart to tap into that.”
Pitt and Bing have done more than simply lend their names and money to the New Orleans project, called the Make It Right Foundation. They’ve enlisted a coterie of world-class architects, including L.A.’s Thom Mayne, to design the houses, which cost an average of $150,000 each.
They’ve also made it possible for people of more ordinary means to participate by going to their website, http://www.. You can sign up to simply donate money, or go on a virtual shopping spree, buying such accessories as water heaters and rooftop solar panels for the new homes.
There will be plenty of opportunity in the years ahead. So far, six homes have been built (one of them is already decorated for Christmas). Construction on two others is underway. Work on 14 more is scheduled to begin early next year.
“You’re going to see 100 homes here, mark my words,” Pitt predicted earlier this week. “It’s nice to see a few, but I’m anxious to see 100, 150, 1,000.”
As Pitt told Cause Célèbre in New Orleans a year ago that the notion of home and family always have been of vital importance to him. When he saw the people of New Orleans stripped of both, it struck him not simply as an act of nature or even a tragedy, but as an injustice America could not allow to pass.
“It will be great to see barbecues in the backyards and kids riding their bikes on the streets again,” said Pitt, whose fondness for New Orleans prompted him and wife Angelina Jolie to buy an early-1830s masonry mansion in the French Quarter.
This week was a particularly busy one for Pitt, who also attended a special New Orleans screening of “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button,” which was filmed in the city. (Pitt’s character, Button, begins life as an old man and then grows younger with time. There’s considerable Oscar buzz around the movie and his performance.)
The actor told a local journalist that the film was a “love letter” to the storm-ravaged city that has become his growing family’s home. “There’s a sense of magic here, so it made this fantastic story almost believable,” he said.
He added: “It’s a gorgeous, gorgeous film. It’s a film that makes you want to hug your kids and call your folks.”
Love letters, though, are like activism: They can be beautiful in the moment, but it is the follow-up that counts.

First Oprah refused to have Sarah Palin on her show because she didn’t want to influence the election. Despite the fact that she’s had Obama on the show, and even publicly endorsed him last May. It was the first time she’d ever endorsed a politician.
Then she produced Obama’s half-hour infomercial. Which, in addition to her endorsement, might have had a little bit of influence on the election.
Now she’s complaining that Palin hasn’t done her show yet:
“I said I would be happy to talk to Sarah Palin when the election was over,” Oprah reveals to Extra. “I went and tried to talk to Sarah Palin and instead she talked to Greta Van Susteren. She talked to Matt Lauer. She talked to Larry King, but she didn’t talk to me. But maybe she’ll talk to me now that she has a book deal.”
Palin’s an expert at hunting moose. This might be the first time she’s been hunted by one.
Can somebody explain what’s in it for Palin? Was she supposed to hit up Oprah’s cell as she was weaving back and forth and weeping in Grant Park? “Hi, Oprah! We both know you’re a total hypocrite who did everything within your power to elect Obama, but now that it only does one of us any good, could you please have me on your show at your earliest convenience? Well it seems Mr. Bing was there on Wednesday along with Brad. So had he wanted to participate in the interview with Brad I am pretty certain he would have. Therefore I conclude that there isn’t a conspiracy to over expose Mr Pitt.
