Prop 8: The Musical — Happy Days For The Gays
Marc Shaiman and Adam Shankman, director of the hit Hollywood musical Hairspray, have teamed together again to create Prop 8: The Musical.
Starring Jack Black, John C. Reilly, Andy Richter, Maya Rudolph, Craig Robinson and more, this hilarious new Funny or Die video deals with this important issue in a funny (and, as the title suggests, musical) way.
Watch the hilarious video below!!!!! Proposition 8 is a ballot measure that bans same-sex marriage in California.

#8 no offense, but the last part you said sounded like a dirty joke to me.
this was so funny. and u guys should stop worrying about something that will change in a short time. just like black and womens rights. everyone was getting mad for that. but now barely anybody remembers the way it used to be (ok u do, but u remember it was a stupid thing to do).
and u forgot to talk about the blonde woman from scrubs. sarah? oh well, i cant remember but shes really good…
This is disgusting.
Prop 8 was voted on, Leave it alone. Being gay is a disease, even gays that have cured themselves of it have said so. Just because a 2 men or 2 women love each other doesn’t make it right.
So, if No on 8 goes through then what happens next? A 50yr old and a 10 yr old love each other and want to have equal rights so then we will allow that. Then a woman and a sheep? Hey maybe a father and son? man our country is sick. This is the path we are on if No on 8.
YES ON 8! Glad we won.
these actors are so desperate to be accepted & to look cool within the industry which mainly being controlled by GAYS!so…they are the one who are confused with themselves….they chose these lifestyle..fine….. but don’t push it toooooooo far!
somehow…if one is anti-gay…they are deemed as stupid/close-minded or BIGOT?????????
and they can’t voice their opinions as equal as the pro-gays????????
what a hypocrite you guys are!
i am going to continue to share my views on this issue…and i have the rights to do so….
Nick, what legal rights did you lose when prop 8 was passed? What legal rights would you have been gained? Gay and lesbian partnerships have already been given the same rights and responsibilities as a married couples.
And some of you need to stop calling Prop 8 supporters “haters”… they are just protecting what they believe. I know you all are saying there is a separation between church and state, but look at what’s happened in Massachusetts. Sometimes we can’t trust our government to protect us. Even if there is a separation, “church” still needs to protect itself from “state”.
Also, I understand that people have their opinions. And I understand when celebrities try to use their celebrity to inform the people, but when they use their fame to do things like this I lose a little respect for them. I can take a joke when it’s done in good fun, but underlying all the jokes was a thick layer of anger. It seeped through all the jokes making it uncomfortable. It’s similar feeling when people take seemingly innocent jabs at each other in public, only everyone can tell they really hate each other.
SANCTITY OF MARRIAGE? Really Volleyballgrl? Let’s explore that.
Are you talking about BIBLICAL sanctity of marriage? Like 1 man, a multiplicity of wives and as many prostitutes and concubines you can shake your stick at? (Exodus 21) Or What to do if you love one wife and hate the other but you have children with both of them? (Duet. 21)
Or are you talking about the HISTORICAL sanctity of marriage where the brides father pays a dowry to make the exchange more palatable? Ever wonder why a woman loses her last name in the SANCTITY of marriage? Because historically it is an exchange of PROPERTY!
Or are you talking about the SANCTITY of the 24 hour drive through marriage by an Elvis impersonator easily sanctified by any justice of the peace in Las Vegas?
Or perhaps your talking about the SANCTITY of marriage that ends in over a 52% divorce rate…..all without the help of a single homosexual’s corrupting influence.
Do yourself a favor and take your own advice and “think a little”.
Or maybe that’s asking too much…. yeah, I guess it is.

If you stop your misinterpretation to suit your own world you would see that ed did NOT say you were scary because you voiced your opinion, he said it in reference to you and your ilk wanting to rip up constitutional rights and legislate morality. And it’s either religious intolerance influencing state law or its outright bigotry stripping rights from a minority, both are reprehensible in a free society.
And volleyballgrl, SHOUTING YOUR MESSAGES DOES NOT COMPENSATE THEM FOR BEING IDIOTIC.
Question: What will future generations “suffer” from if gays are allowed to marry like straight people?
Audrey
The legal rights that were taken away was the court decision that under the interpretation of your Constitution, all people are to be treated equal. That is why gays have been allowed to marry in the past year. Prop 8 removes this existing right of a minority, totally against the Constitutional ruling by the courts.
They now DO NOT have the “same rights and responsibilities as a married couples”, BECAUSE THEY CAN’T GET MARRIED!
What else would you call someone other that a HATER, who is so hateful that even though it makes no difference to them in their everyday life whether Joe and Jim who live together down the street are married or not, they go out of their way to strip them of their rights to have a marriage commitment for themselves.
#52 your soooooo retarted! Where did you hear that homosexuality is a disease? Has that been proven? If it has pleasse I would love to see that. I think its ignorant people like you who ruin our country!
Every single person who says “ewww” or “this is disgusting” or even hates this video are ignorant people who are taking a video too seriously.
Idiots.
It’s always amazing to me how people can call the ones who DON’T like this horrible names and insult them, and degrade them for their opinion. Yet you are all doing the same thing as they are. Look at yourselves and your comments!
Some of you are so quick to judge those comments you don’t agree with, while totally overlooking the mean comments that AGREE with you. We all need to grow up!
I have my opinion on all of this as well, but why put myself through all the bullying? If you can’t respect free speech, then move! And for those of you who don’t know, free speech is NOT putting others down for their opinions. It’s allowing everyone to speak their opinion. So someone doesn’t like this? So someone does? So what? Just let them be!
