Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes look positively flawless on split covers of T: The New York Times Style Magazine’s “Holiday/Reinvention” issue. Here are great interview highlights via Us Weekly:
Tom on when Katie confessed to him that she dreamed of marrying him as a little girl: “I said I wouldn’t want to disappoint her. I knew I wanted to marry Kate when I met her.”
Tom on buying Katie an engagement ring shortly after their first date in 2005: “At one point, I thought she was going to ask me to marry her first and I put her off by changing the subject. I wanted to ask her.”
Katie on being overwhelmed by Tom: “When I met Tom I was completely in love and, yes, I admired him growing up – he’s Tom Cruise! [After our first meeting, I was] completely in love. He was so warm, and I thought, ‘Wow, you can be a superstar and a human being.’ He made me feel so amazing.”
Katie on life since her romance with Tom began: “My life has expanded. My family and friends are all a part of this bigger life.”
Katie on people still having the wrong idea about her: “There’s a misperception about me that I just became this wallflower, this woman who doesn’t have any control of her life. And that’s pretty wrong. From the very beginning, I’ve made choices in my life that have been very strong. ”

Nobody cares about these two losers. The only way they get on the cover of a magazine is because it is owned by a scientologist or tom buys the space and has someone to write an article. We’ve all seen those huge one page advertisements that try to deceive the reader into believing it’s an objective article.
These two need to get the eff back to LA and live with all the other phonies out there.
I was in NYC all last week and saw these losers 2 times (by mistake of course). Glad I went to see Jersey Boys and not All My Losers.

irregardless of what the tabloids/blogs say: you have to admit they make a beautiful couple (just ignore the whole age gap/scientology/crazy/ things). they look SO old hollywood…(right down to their marriage) and their kid is cute.
Oh, please everyone. ” Pimping out Suri this, and pimping out Suri that ! Such a predictable and assinine comment. I guess all of you with children are ” pimping them out for Christmas pictures to send out to family and friends.” And dressing them up like dolls, to show off at church and parties and school functions. How much do you want to bet that after Valkyrie tanks and Katie’s play is over, we don’t see Suri for weeks, maybe months?
Those photos are so photo-shopped, but they are lovely. Kudos to the photographer and finisher; that is where the real talent is. They did an excellent job. KH here is reminiscent of a harsher version of Natalie Wood. The interview video; interesting. She looked like a young boy. Had she engaged in the camera more, it would have seemed natural and quite charming. As it was, she looked left, up, rolled her eyes and seemed to be searching her place in the script all of the time. Could be that she’s just shy and awkward. I don’t really care. This couple lost it for me. I don’t like condescension and fake and these two have set themselves. Mr. Blonde, you want to know why I say that? Because Cruise has gone on tv and judged others, set himself up as an expert on things he was not, condescended and belittled others. Once he did that, it was over for me. He judged and as far as I’m concerned, he threw the first stone. Had he kept his mouth shut and remained humble, I’d be the first to shut my mouth and do the same. As for Katie, she’s a non-entity; not worth the words.
I just saw that interview Katie did with NYT magazine and the impression I got from it was that she was highly nervous. Throughout the whole clip she keeps looking up or away, the gesture that psychologists say marks someone who is hiding something or lying. Not saying that she’s doing either but the lack of eye contact was so notable.
- Her voice is also so… what’s the word– immature. She sounds like a 16 yr old.
I’m just so not impressed with her lack of anything. She should just focus on dressing Suri warmly instead of showing off the dresses she’s bought for her with Tom’s money.
