Cate Blanchett Stars On Walk of Fame
Oscar-winning actress Cate Blanchett (in Armani Prive) receives the 2,376th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Friday, December 5.
Steven Spielberg, who directed the 39-year-old Aussie star in Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, introduced Cate during the ceremony held in front of the Egyptian Theatre.
Her upcoming film, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, costarring Brad Pitt opens on Christmas Day.

I do love Cate. But, this walk of fame is totally bogus!!! Either the star or the star’s agency PAYS for the entire thing. I suppose this ceremony was timed for the opening of Benjamin Button. I’m kind of disappointed in Cate. She’s better than this. She doesn’t need to buy publicity!!

mslewis, don’t be disappointed in Cate, she’s not the one who bought it. Fincher and Spielberg and crew did last year. When people of that prestige bestow an honor like that it’s insane and horribly rude to decline it.

This publicity stunt is something that is pulled off by the studios, who get tons of pics out of comparatively little money.
When promoting a movie, the actors don’t have any say where they go, on what show, or what else the studio arranges for them.
I adore Cate, and I’d really like to know how her distractors look like!

Stop That. AJ is a friend to Cate and vice versa. They both stand on their rights and merits. Cate looks great and AJ didn’t invent the red lipstick. I love them both.

For the umpteenth time, Cate does NOT have any work done on her. I’ve followed Cate for 10 years and she just keeps getting better and better. I truly feel she is the greatest actress ever! I used to be a die-hard Streep fan in the 80s and I still am to a certain extent, but I think Streep lacked the refinement and elegance Cate possesses. She has such a unique and strong presence on camera and is the only actress to really experiment with different styles of acting and nail each and every one of them! Her Queen Bess and Bob Dylan will go down in history as two of the greatest performances by an actress of all times along with Streep’s Sophie’s Choice. I’ve heard Meryl’s a big Cate fan too, so that says it all right there. Congrats Cate the Great, you truly deserve it!

Psst: black & white clothing with bright red lipstick is a classic look. It isn’t any actress’s “signature” look, for god’s sake. It’s a fashion classic worn by thousands of women every day. Clean, simple. She looks great.
