Gossip Girl Spin-Off Coming Soon!
A spin-off for the hugely successful CW drama, Gossip Girl, is in the works, according to Variety.
The spin-off would act as an episode of Gossip Girl later this year to gauge audience reaction. But it’s won’t be for Little J! The trade mag says the spin-off would not feature “The It Girl,” nor would it focus on the character of Jenny Humphrey (the character spun off from the Gossip Girl books for “The It Girl”), played on TV by Taylor Momsen.
Who should get their own spin-off series — Blair, Serena, Chuck, Nate, Dan or Vanessa?

CHUCK AND BLAIR!!! Package deal, they can’t be split up. They are the only ones on GG that would make a successful spin-off but without them who would watch Gossip Girl? I think it’s a bad idea and would either ruin GG or the spin-off would tank. Just my opinion though;)

i don’t see why jenny can’t get her own spin-off. I mean yeah, she;s 15 but they should still follow the order of the books. But I don’t know.. I think Vanessa’s gonna get the spin-off. and i agree with Dante. except the bullshit part. lol

I heard from Eonline, that Dorota, Blair’s nanny is the one that’s getting her spin-off, don’t know if thats true though.
They could do an Upstairs/Downstairs thing and follow all the staff who work for them- Dorota, any bellboys or chambermaids in hotels.
But if the spin-off follows Vanessa, she at least wont be in GG to annoy me anymore…

The CW should concentrate on getting rates up for the original GG before going ahead with a spinoff.
I’m sick of Serena its always the same ‘ol story with her so the best choice imo would be Chuck. He’s always a blast to watch && would be the only one who’d be able to pull one off if there was one in the works.
I agree with most of the comments posted here. It should be a secondary character, though I´d love Blair or Chuck for the spin-off. Serena is dull and i want Vanessa out of the show! Anyway… rumor has it that it will be Dorotha.
i think if they picked one of the main characters(serena, dan, chuck , blair, nate) their life stories are featured enough it wouldn’t get anything that’s not already on the show.
jenny’s life is featured enough too, but i think out of all of them eric i think his name is….serena’s brother should get it. we get nothing from him other than he snoops and sneaks jenny around. but thats it.

Definitely one of the secondary characters. They’ve already admitted there are webisodes for Verison being made about Dorota, so perhaps this is talking about that.
I would totally watch a spin off about Rufus and Lily, but then I’m in their age bracket, and that interests me.
But yeah, if you wanted a spin off for a main charry, I’m putting in a vote for Chuck. He’s the most interesting character of them all, and now that daddy is dead, he’s got scope for something different in the future.

I’m pretty sure it’s Dorota. It’s said that she’s getting her own webisode series. But other than that, the characters don’t really need spin offs. Seriously?! The show is just fine the way it is.
umm i dont think this is true. josh schwartz said so himself before.
besides all those characters listed are too pivotal to leave the original for their own show. If there really was a spinoff it would be like Isobel or Kati or Hazel or Penelope or Georgina.

The spin-off will be Georgina. Josh Schwartz has made comments recently that GG will not follow the same storyline as the books and that we will definitely “see Georgina again”… I can’t imagine what they would do with her on GG… the Serena/Dan/Georgina triangle wouldn’t be interesting anymore. I smell spin-off.

I said months ago that Chuck and Nate should be college roomates (not much different than real life). College is SO much different than high school - less pretentious, less superficial. In college they could “find themselves”, which is way more interesting than the ridiculous soap drama of GG.
Have Dan want to go to college, but be too poor to attend. He ends up living close to the college, and struggles as an alcoholic literary genius (that’s pretty realistic).
For fun Nate could join a Fraternity, but struggle between the ridiculous stupidity of those morons, and his attraction to - mmm - something other than money and pretty women. Maybe he likes to steal cars or ride Harleys or something.
Chuck could become a goth - he’d make a wickedly delicious goth.

No doubts…LEIGHTON OR ED OR BOTH! they would make a really good show but I hope they don’t do something now becasue GG is awesoem as it is. I don’t want them to ruin anything like they did on greys when Addison dissappeard.
I think Chuck would be the only one worth watching on his own. He’s mysterious and soon to be LOADED so it would be fun to watch how he uses his financial power…you never know with him he keeps us guessing..

Lily Bass( or Rhodes i think it would be, cant remember) is the one reported to have her spin off. Well it was be a prequel spin off. Life as young Lily, rock and roll fan, crazy outrageous teenager. Just like Serena but taken to highest level.
