OlderTaylor Swift: Christmas Tree Farm-Raised
Taylor Swift appeared and performed on Friday’s episode of The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. The almost-19-year-old country superstar sang her hit song “White Horse” and told a great story about being raised on a Christmas Tree farm.
She shared, “Yes! I did [grow up on a Christmas Tree farm], so this is a good season for me. I was too young to help with the hauling of the trees up the hills and putting them onto cars. So, it was my job to pull off the preying mantis pods off of the Christmas trees. The problem with that is if you leave them on there, people bring them into their house. I forgot to check one time and they hatched all over these people’s house. And there were hundreds of thousands of them. And they had little kids, and they couldn’t kill of them because that’d be a bad Christmas.”

That song is so pretty. Sad and unfortunately releatable for a lot of people, but still very pretty.
I love her story about the Praying Mantis pods. That’d be terrifying though. Those bugs are scary! I love that song, too. I’m glad she decided to make it a single.
That’s a great song. I don’t think she’s a particularly great singer, but she writes or co-writes the prettiest songs. I’ll take that over a singer with a big voice any day.

I think she was snubbed big time at the Grammy. She at least should get one nomination. They chose Carrie over Taylor, what a big mistake.
Taylor wasn’t nominated because Fearless came out after the cut off date to be nominated. She will be up for a lot next year.
I agree she doesn’t have the strongest voice but she does write beautiful songs. For being so young she is beyond talented when it comes to writing.

Any one her saw hew performance, slaughtering “im sorry” and then slaughtering her own song both at the cmas and white horse at teh grammy thing, would know she has no business winning or being nominated for anything
Her songs may be penned by her, btu they are shallow,and literally about hte same thing. White horse is good, but she cant sing it live.

They chose Underdog over Taylor at the grammy awards. The grammys should be boycotted, wait….. Underdog is known for throwing her weight around when it comes to her getting her way, remember the cmt awards 08, Jessica wasn’t nominated and she was a no show! What if she had something to do with Taylor being snubbed, I wouldn’t be surprised if she had her hand in this!
I think Taylor is an amazing artist. I love how raw her talent is and she doesn’t need to rely on a big voice to sell her songs.
A lot of artists have to rely on their voices because they don’t write their own songs. There are plenty of singer/songwriters who don’t have huge voices.
Brad Paisley said it best when he said Taylor’s voice is honest and you can hear her heart and emotion in her songs. She doesn’t need to rely on a big circus of a show because she wrote these songs and she is singing them from the heart. She has fans because she lets them in each and every time she performs.
