OlderCate Blanchett: Perfectly Fit For McQueen
Cate Blanchett glitters in gold Alexander McQueen at the premiere of her upcoming Christmas Day film The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button on Monday in Westwood, Calif.
The 39-year-old Aussie actressm who finished off her outfit with Roger Vivier peep-toe sandals, recently sang praises of her costar Brad Pitt. She told ET, “I happen to really think Brad is a great human being, and he has such a particular take on the world.”
Taraji P. Henson, who plays Brad’s adoptive mother in the film, adds, “He’s a sweetie pie actually. You know, you hear rumors and stories about actors who are on a certain level and, you know, they won’t show up for your off camera stuff and he was always there. Always there, and so generous. He wouldn’t have it any other way.”

Good lord, what was she thinking of? That has got to be one of the ugliest dresses I ever saw.
Early reviews of CCOBB are very positive.
I don’t understand the dress either. Kate looks good in solid colours.She was glowing when she did the Oprah show here not so much.
At first I didn’t like the dress, but the more I look at the pictures–the more it is growing on me. The top at least is stunning on her.

#11 lovely, I’ll “humour” you. Cate’s dress is wrong because it’s disproportionate. It looks like a tight slip is being squeezed out of her thighs. That tight slip makes her calves look heavy. The skin-color “cleavage dissimulator” looks like something a figure skater would wear only to follow her sport’s regulations. The dress is also wrong because she can barely walk in the sausage skin slipping down her thighs.

Oh boy, where do I begin?
The design is ridiculous.
The dress is too tight.
What’s up with the skin-colored insert?
The top part makes her butt look too big.
The bottom part squishes her legs together so her calves look fat.
I can’t imagine anyone who would look good in that dress. And she needs some long earrings if she’s going to wear that severe hairstyle.
Disaster city.
She should have taken a cue from Angelina Jolie who was there with Brad Pitt and his parents and looked drop-dead gorgeous. Long black strapless dress, very simple design, gold earrings, hair in a bun. Absolutely elegant. Check her thread out.

It has a very happy chirstmas feel to it. It is also so original, she is keeping things lively with that dress

Cate dress looks like a lampshade. I think she tries too hard to be different with her clothes, that sometimes it just comes off costumnish.

Love Cate but I think her makeup is pretty bad here. The lip color is all wrong for this outfit. It washes her out.
she’s gorgeous and i think she pulls off the dress. it’s a shame there aren’t more actresses like her in hollywood; with brains, talent and dignity.

Wow, I didn’t like the dress at first, but it’s actually growing on me. Well, except for the nude tights. Only Cate Blanchett could make me reneg on that dress. She is always daring and can pull off practically anything!
Not to mention, she can act circles around Jolie! LOL!
I love that Cate always takes chances with her fashion. She doesn’t play it safe with the same, tired, boring “old Hollywood” look. She’s an individual with her fashion choices. I love her for that.
I love it! It is just so her…creative, different. Fashion is supposed to be fun and daring.
Why not take a chance? Great color and who doesn’t love sparkles.
