Debra Messing is the Tomb Raider
Here is your first look of The Starter Wife star Debra Messing as Lara Croft, The Tomb Raider (originally played by Angelina Jolie in the 2001 movie).
Thanks to PopWrap, we learn that Debra’s character Molly dreams of a life where guns have replaced Blackberry’s. Molly’s BFF Rodney (Chris Diamantopoulos) also gets in on the spy action as Alex West, Daniel Craig’s character from Tomb Raider.
The Starter Wife airs Fridays @ 10PM on USA.

i don’t think Debra can be Lara Croft. She doesn’t have the look and physical required. Comedy is more suitable for her character.

Being a mom of 6 little kids , a promising leading HW actress, a humanitarian,etc… at the same time and still look so beautiful & sexy are very demanding jobs……..

I like Debra Messing but have never seen her tv show. I am assuminmg it is a comedy? She will just make ppl think of Angie and her role as Laura Croft but there will be no comparison . Tomb Raider will always be AJ’s movie. No two ways about it.. Sexxxxxxaaay Angie.

That’s pretty fun. You would have to be superbrave to doll up as Angie as Lara Croft - she knows the comparisons are coming - she’s having fun with it. I don’t think she’s trying to live up to it or anything - just be silly.

#27. Just this past week end, they had both Tomb Raider movies back to back. Watched them both — mind you I have both on DVD, but I watched anyway. That ’suck face’ scene with Mr. Butler in #2 still makes me dizzy. HA! HA!

Debra Messing looks good not so much as playing Angie’s Lara but did notice she has her lips done too.
I just watched an old movie i think from 1994 last night with DM and Anthony Hopkins (can’t remember the name of it off hand) anyway she looks much younger here then back in the 90’s. Ho Hum as much as i like Debra Messing she will never be Lara Croft even with fatter lips.
They all want to have Angie’s lips. They can’t just like they can’t be the Tomb Raider…Never.

Lara Croft is a franchise in her own way. Not even Angelina Jolie really did the character justice.
It looks like a funny dream sequence … BUT, wow, it kind of confirms the fact that there’s only 1 Angelina. Accept no substitutes!
