Debra Messing is the Tomb Raider
Here is your first look of The Starter Wife star Debra Messing as Lara Croft, The Tomb Raider (originally played by Angelina Jolie in the 2001 movie).
Thanks to PopWrap, we learn that Debra’s character Molly dreams of a life where guns have replaced Blackberry’s. Molly’s BFF Rodney (Chris Diamantopoulos) also gets in on the spy action as Alex West, Daniel Craig’s character from Tomb Raider.
The Starter Wife airs Fridays @ 10PM on USA.

I think Angelina is so overrated. She never pulled Lara Croft’s role well, se doesn’t look like the original character. Debra might get it tho.
Debra Messing is a really good actress I’m sure she’ll do a really great job… I really liked tomb Raider with Angie…
This show she is on Starter Wife.. I just LOVE! Depending upon what going on she usually has a quick dream sequence of doing something. In this episode she is trying to rescue her best friend who has disappeared. This show is a drama with humor. I LOVE Debra Messing. Loved her in Will and Grace as well.
On her close up they had big lips penciled in it was just so funny.
She looks good there.

i know #46 jughead, i think jen is a good choice for lara croft. it will be hysterically funny and a major hit. i would love to see jen in an action film. i heard she plans and love to do action and produce the fil under her production- would love to see that.
movied also agree w/ you, i think jen could do justice as lara croft.by the way, i think jolie is attached very much to lara croft as far as a movie -dare i say, she is the movie franchise?…until somebody else can outdo her,but for now ,she is the movie franchise lara croft.
question for jughead and movied, who do you think can play and do justice as lara croft in the movie?….jen,megan fox,nicole kidman,halle berry or jesica alba?

Out of all those actresses you mentioned I’d like to see Megan Fox doing splits and various asskickery.
I like Debra. I think she is a good actress. She’s very effective in Will & Grace. She has really good timing especially n comedy. She’s got talent and beauty.
Now about Molly (Debra) dreaming of a life of Lara Croft, i think it’s just for fun. It’s like a spoof or SNL I don’t think Debra will really take that role in film. She knows no one can really replace Angelina Jolie. There is only one Lara Croft. Angelina Jolie is the only one who can really play it best, and no one else. The rest are incomparable to her.
Besides, Debra likes Angie. I remember she said before, “he (her son) kisses Angelina Jolie on the cover of a magazine and then he says, ‘mama’.
“I’m like, ‘Kid, if you say Mama to Angelina Jolie, you could have anything you want,’ because she’s so gorgeous!”
So, I have nothing against her.
I like Debra, but I find her pose more humorous than sexy. Maybe that was the intent.

Hello I think Debra is a good actress but no for this type of movie, i think Angelina is the perfect actress for this movie, her lokks is more original as a Tomb Raider i still prefer Angelina for this movie, will see how Debra do it.

I think that after beautiful Angelina played Lara Croft, Debra Messing is just too “poor” for this role.
I’m just guessing here, but I think it was just a question for fun, the article states that she has a dream sequence in Starter Wife of being Lora Craft, I don’t think there’s any movie in the works for Messing to take the place of Angelina Jolie. Sorry, but my opinion of Jolie went downhill after she stole another womans husband, that’s just selfish and wrong. I think Messing is adorable and beautiful. Also, I think they photoshoped her head unto Jolie’s body, that’s why the boobs!!
