OlderRicky Martin’s Twins: First Pictures!
Ricky Martin reveals the first photos of his 4-month-old baby twin boys, Valentino and Matteo, in this week’s People and Hola cover. Check out some interview snippets:
On being a hands-on parent: I don’t have a nanny. I’m doing this on my own because I don’t want to miss a moment. I have a personal assistant who helps me, someone who takes care of me while I’m taking care of them, but I’m the one who changes the diapers, the one that feeds them, the one that bathes them, the one that puts them to sleep.
On becoming a parent through surrogacy: Adoption was one option, but it’s complicated and can take a long time. Surrogacy was an intriguing and faster option. I thought, ‘I’m going to jump into this with no fear.’
On getting to know Valentino and Matteo: Valentino loves to sleep. I call him ‘Mr. Peace and Love’ because he’s so chill and serene. Matteo is more alert and active. He was up at 3 a.m. the other night and just hanging!

It doesn’t matter whether he is straight, gay, or celibate as he is a truly a compassionate soul and such a blessing to the Planet with his joyful disposition and gorgeous smile.

If homosexuality is brought up, it should be acknowledged. Living honestly benefits everyone. Is “superstar” fame really worth that much? Ricky Martin has power, money, and a following that I think would support him. I think it would be transformative. The Gay community would support him, I think especially the Latino gay community. Things should be shaken up. I’d respect him.

He is only selling them pictures to the magazines to get famous again. It’s obvious. It’s time everyone forgot ‘Livin’ Da Vida Loca’ or whatever it’s called… who cares. Ricky is a child advocate and has been for many years. He has helped a lot of kids in poor places. He understands about abuse and he’s fighting to end it. Many gay men have the natural instinct and desire to become fathers. They are good people who deserve the opportunity to give love to a child love. There are too many kids w/o parents. More adoptions would help. Ricky is rich and beautiful. His boys will not miss a female influence in their lives. Maybe Martin’s longtime best female friend is helping him raise the boys. Pretty sure there are plenty of relatives around to spread the love.

I don’t think he does any more charity than an average celeb does nowadays, he just talks about it more. Charity does so much good to your public image and that’s what Ricky is all about: a mr. perfect image.
