Kate Walsh: Divorce After 15 Months

Private Practice star Kate Walsh’s movie exec husband Alex Young has filed for divorce from the actress, reports ET.

The date of separation is listed as November 22, 2008, just before the Thanksgiving holiday. According to the filing papers, Alex cited irreconcilable differences.

Kate and Alex married in September of 2007.

Something crazy must have happened between November 9 and 29 as the couple looked quite happy together in Las Vegas!

UPDATE: Kate’s reps tells JustJared.com, “Papers have been filed to amicably end the marriage of executive Alex Young, and actress Kate Walsh. The couple remain on friendly terms and sincerely hope the media will respect their privacy during this difficult time.”

I don’t know her well. Sorry I don’t watch her show or Grey’s Anatomy. I am saddened by this. I am going through a divorce as well. It is tough. She will get through it. I wish her the best.

I have met Kate on a number of occasions. All I can say she is an absolute nightmare (with a capital “C-U-*-*!”) He is lucky to be rid of her. She treated him like crap (with a capital “S-H-*-*.”

I can’t believe it. They seemed to happy, starting to think Kate joking about them having problems wasn’t a joke. I really never saw this coming but she seems to be dealing with it well by the look of pics over the last few days. Hope she finds someone who truly makes her happy, she deserves it

Seriously? What happened? there wasn’t any rumors at all (last thing I read they were trying to have a baby) and they seemed so in love…
this is happening too fast…
So…they filed together for divorce? other news says he filed for it…
I hope it is at least a mutual decision…

they look so happy together.
well, after all they’re just normal people.
anyway, I hope she’s fine.
I don’t agree with a few people here.
I think they where a cute couple and the most important is that they are happy together. I hope they’re both okay after the divorce.
Is it officialy over?
It’s not just a rumor or anything?
I love her show <3 :)

Any divorce is sad, but they must have had their reasons. I hope she can move on & find someone that can make her really happy. As for the lesbian rumours I think that is just wishful thinking for a lot of the gay population!

she is not attractive //to bony nad stretched out..she has teh confidence only a lesbian attracting other women would…because she looks like a man and so teh very femme lezy will go for that look….no offense meant, but she just doesnt appeal and I have no clue when she has her own show, which I never saw anywya…only seen her on just jared..ahahh

To Miapocca - really I think you may just be a tad jealous. Kate Walsh is a stunningly beautiful woman. She looks nothing remotley like a man. To say she has no appeal is just ridiculous. I would kill to look like she does at 41! Your comment regarding her own show which btw is called Private Practice, is a really great show which is also very popular. You shouldn’t make comments about a program you have not even seen!! All of that is irrelevant. She is getting divorced which is hard enough without people like you making stupid comments about her appearance. Like I said I think you are just jealous.

Well said #94. Kate is a stunningly beautiful, funny and talented lady who headlines her own show. Everyone who meets her says the same thing.

Sandra Oh’s marriage lasted just 2 years as well and she moved on. This is very sad news but Kate will move on too.
