Brad’s family make Christmas gifts

Brad Pitt says his family exchange home-made gifts rather than big or expensive ones.

And his children do not watch much American cartoon television, which he believes is packed with “manipulative” adverts.

The actor, who is raising six children with Angelina Jolie, was answering questions from Hello! magazine about his Christmas holiday plans. The couple have twins Vivienne Marcheline and Knox Leon, a daughter named Shiloh and adopted siblings Maddox, Zahara and Pax.

Pitt, one of the biggest stars in Hollywood, said: “We do exchange gifts, although we don’t feel any pressure to make them big or expensive gifts.

“And the kids don’t ask for big gifts for the reason that they don’t see a lot of the American cartoon television, which is packed with all those manipulative commercials for big toys that look so fantastic.

“When they do see that stuff is when they start asking for the toys, so we figure if they don’t see them they won’t know they’re there. So we have gifts, but we try to keep the money spent to a minimum.

“The rule is that everyone’s got to make something for someone else, you got to put time into it. Then, when they give to each other, it’s really sweet. The gift-giving is a very nice time for us.”

Pitt told the magazine his children have embraced the idea that they come from different countries.

He said: “As they’re getting older, we’ve been coming up with some idea for a ceremony for everyone around this time, but right now, it’s still at the ideas stage.”

Speaking about his family life, Pitt said cheerfully: “We haven’t found any reason to stop yet. It’s chaos at times but there’s also such joy in our house right now. I look down at the family and I see our boy from Vietnam (Pax) and our daughter from Ethiopia (Zahara) and our girl’s from Namibia (Shiloh was born there) and our son who’s from Cambodia (Maddox), and…they are all brothers and sisters, man.”

The same label could be attached to many other politicians these days, not just CK. What had HClinton run for before she gained the senator’s position? CK would do as well as anyone else in my opinion. At least she is not trying to buy the seat outright.

The seat was not appointed to Hillary she ran for the seat. She answered the questions, she did the campaigning, she put herself out there for the people of NY to vote rather or not they thought she was qualified and wanted her for the office, being appointed is not the same thing. IMO if CK wants the office then run for the position in 2 years when the term is up.

When Hillary takes her new position, someone has to fill her Senate seat until the next election. Appointments are done all the time. Often if an elected official dies, the wife has been appointed to serve the reminder of her spouse’s term. Also George Bush first ran for public office as the governor of Texas, he had not been in politics before that. Many rich people will run for public office on a high level. The mayor of New York first public office was as mayor. Hillary’s first public office was as Senator. Appointing CK in no way takes away from Hillary and she is not getting anymore favoritism than any of the other appointments that are made. CK will have to eventually run and win to keep the seat, just like others who have been appointed.

Val @ 12/16/2008 at 12:15 pm Even thought Brad is a huge A list celebrity, you can still see the down earth guy with a good southern like background and deep rooted family values. That is what I admire about him most! And even though Angie grew up in Hollywood, she has come into her own as a good wife and mother. It is amazing how positive and life changing getting older can be for some people. I mean I would have never imagined Angelina Jolie to be such a doting mother and partner who is happiest being at home in play clothes with her children. I really think that those two were just made for each other. And fate was just waiting for the right time to bring them together. My oh my Angie and Brad had to kiss lots of frogs to get to where they are now! But I guess this is what makes their relationship even bettter. I so wish them long life and many more happiness to come!

Actually Val, it was very easy for me to see Angelina as a dedicated Mom and partner. She always struck me as an intensely sensitive and loving young woman who was searching for real love and real meaning in her life from the start. She has always wanted to belong to someone. I think that’s what led her to her early marriages in her youth. A need to create what her Mom never got. Perhaps seeing such a wonderful person as her Mom abandoned by her Dad, scared her to such an extent that she thought — my Mom is perfect, and wonderful and sweet and yet the love of her life walks away from her and two babies. If she can’t have her dreams come true - what chance do I have? I think the reality of living and seeing what happened to her Mom scared her - so it made her want to go out as soon as she could and try to ‘create,’ that for herself.

She’s even talked about that when she discusses ‘cutting,’ that she was an adolescent who had entered into a relationship hoping to find that love and intensity - and when she didn’t, and felt empty, the cutting made it and life seem more intense.

I think along the way she found out that you can’t manufacture loving relationships (as did Brad) by getting married (jlm, bbt) - that they either happen or they don’t. I think bbt gave her an intensity that she realized soon after was solely due to the fact that she was a sex object for him - that quickly faded for Angelina and I recalled thinking…at the time, when she was rumored to have split,Aha, she’s finally waking up to what this relationship is. I may be in the minority, but I think when Angie decided to adopt Maddox, she didn’t care what bbt thought of it or did. In the back of her mind, perhaps she’d hope he’d give her a reason to end it - which he did. It sounds like it was a decision she made on her own anyway - which again, says a lot. Angie was ready to leave bbt behind, even if she hadn’t verbalized it. She would later say, I shouldn’t have divorced Johnny. This is post bbt. I think she said it because she realized it, that jlm was more a best friend who was in love with her - and she figured that was better than what she had with bbt, and better than nothing.

Becoming a Mom to Maddox was indeed the best thing that happened to her as she has often said. He made her exhale, she had someone - a love that wouldn’t run away, and like she’s said, she was happy and content…she wasn’t expecting to win the lottery with Brad and the other children which has made her life even more fulfilling than she ever dreamed. I knew all along that Angelina just needed to be patient and hopefully her thunderbolt would come along - and it did, in the form of Brad Pitt.

It’s funny, in that infamous 2 year old Vogue, what Angelina is describing is most definitely a ‘crush,’ but it’s like she doesn’t even know it. You can see it in the behind the scenes stuff too - that punch she gives Brad as their getting up from the table during the Tango scene, the giggling, she’s like an 8th grader, just guileless.

You sense in a lot of ways, Brad is the only man she has ever TRULY been in love with. He knows it too. When a woman says, if not for you, I wouldn’t have had kids - that is powerful. None of this Maniston crap about… ‘I always wanted kids, and will have them - the father of my kids is walking the streets right now.’ For Brad to know that this young woman is telling him, that he is that special and that wonderful that she wanted to have his children and only his…? How amazing must he feel. :-D

Tell me, if everytime as you say Angie goes out for humanitarian trips when something negative is written about her, please, give me in detail all the thing that were written about her on these dates.
