Amy Poehler Quits SNL

Amy Poehler has quit Saturday Night Live–saying her final good-byes to the NBC comedy show on-air during last night’s show.

During the regular “Weekend Update” news segment with Seth Meyers, Amy said, “I just want to take a moment to thank everybody. This is my last show. It has been an amazing experience to be here. Being able to do over 140 shows with my friends and my family has been a dream come true.”

Back in October, Amy and actor Will Arnett welcomed son Archie Arnett.

Here’s to seeing Amy in bigger and better things!

“Quit” makes it sound so dramatic. She’s leaving the show, that’s all. That’s what you do after being on SNL for a few years.

I always thought she kind of sucked, especially as Hillary. I mean, she was really bad as Hillary. Like really really bad.

I liked her one leg character, but I can’t think of anything else memorable.

Saturday night live isn’t shown here but after seeing the Palin rap on youtube she will be a big loss to the show. Tina Fey quit too but she went back for special occasions! Amys making a spin off to The Office i hope its good nothing will beat the original ricky gervais show though. Steve Carell is great but its not the same.

God I’ll miss Amy! I’m not sure if it was intentional or not, but that dumbass Fred Armisen stupidly hogged the spotlight when Amy was saying her goodbyes….for a whole minute! WTF?

She was great. STFU haters. And lastly, different word choice would have been better. She’s done what million of SNL stars have done: left the show with thanks and tears.
