Kate Gosselin Has Eight Disney Kids

Kate Gosselin, star of the TLC hit reality show Jon & Kate Plus 8, recently opened up to Star at P&G’s brandSAVER Live! event.

Here’s what the mother of twins (8-year-old Cara and Mady) and sextuplets (4-year-old Aaden, Joel, Alexis, Hannah, Leah and Collin) had to say:

What kind of TV do they watch? “They’re Disney kids. And to be honest, our show is their favorite thing. They ask to watch it all the time. It’s interesting. It’s like them watching their memories.”

Do the kids know that they’re celebrities? “They don’t understand it. To them, it’s their normal. They’ve been filming since they were 15-months-old and they don’t know any different. And I’ve taught them — and at 4 they understand — that if people are taking pictures, and it bothers you, just say, ‘No, thank you’ and turn your back.”

Do you enjoy doing the show? “The blessings are we get to work from home, we’re there with them. We get to travel. There’s so many experiences that we wouldn’t otherwise have. I feel like it’s making them so well-rounded.”

New episodes of Jon & Kate Plus 8 airs on TLC on Mondays at 9PM ET/PT.

Her kids are so cute. I can’t believe with all these kids how organized she is. I have two and it’s hard with two much less eight!

# 2

Yeah I don’t disagree with her parenting skills and nobody should judge unless they have eight kids themselves.

Alexis is the cutest but my favourite is Hannah the homely sweetheart! I would love a daughter like her!

I love that show! Even though Kate and Jon can be frustrating, you can see the love. My favorites are Hannah, she’s beautiful and such a little mama, Leah, she’s a riot and Joel cause he’s so clueless. Maddy on the other hand, she has issues that one. I can tell she’s going to be the most trouble.

# 4

i love them.
they are amazing
and the kids are so cute and polite

they prove thats its possible to educate and teach kids how to be polite even if you have 8 of them

This is my favorite show! I love this family! Leah is my fav, I love her smile…Mady- oh man oh man… she needs extra attention.

There is nothing positive to say about these two- people seriously need to do their research and realize what a scam Jon & Kate are…they have continued to play on the pity of charitable people which now equals a million dollar home, a full-time chef, full-time nanny, free vacations, free clothes, free toys…oh, and neither Jon nor Kate work…they sit back and collect free money and items (plus the money they make per episode) while continuing to tell people they are poor and need financial help.

They have sold their children to make a buck…it’s plain and simple…these kids are adorable yes, but their parents have exploited them time and time again for free cash…do you think the older they get that they will get a thrill from all their classmates seeing the vids of them potty training? Probably not…

Jon and Kate know that their children equals money and that is why they continue the show. They have a made a lifestyle out of doing absolutely nothing but playing the pity card that 8 children equals a free ride. No one forced either Jon or Kate to have 8 babies (because any woman undergoing fertility treatments knows multiples is a risk). They have lied about their financial stability and what they actually do (which again, is nothing- why do anything when you have a full staff to do everything).

Perfect example, the trip to Hawaii…did anyone else find it strange that they renew their vows after what, 8-9 years and that even their kids were confused as to why they were doing it? Well, throw in a free vacation that equals thousands of dollars and I guess renewing the vows is part of the deal…

There are thousands of families suffering right now and all I ever see from Jon & Kate is one free vacation after another…having 8 children does not entitle you to any more support than a family of 3 or 4…the problem with Jon & Kate is that they continue to misrepresent their financial situation and play on gullbile people who keep handing over the free stuff…everyone should do what many have already done and write a letter to TLC demanding this scam be pulled off the air for the safety of the children alone!!

Open your eyes and do some research and you will see what a total sham this entire show is- I stopped watching months ago so that I wouldn’t contribute to their scam…

I love this show. The kids are all adorable. Maddy is a handful, I have to admit!

Listen everyone if you want to define PIMPING YOUR KID OUT! This
is it… How do you think they get all those free trips to all these places
do you really think they pay for it… NO they get the companies to do it
for them …That is what PIMPING YOUR KID OUT MEANS..

Not the paparazzi who likes to take pictures of people..

WHY aren’t of the grandparents or aunts & uncle in their lives???? I think she treats her husband like a kid & he doesn’t have the balls to stick up for himslf and I agree with number 6 100%.

I love their show and so does my mom. Our favorite is Jon, he is so hilarious!!

Georgia - Jon’s dad died a few years ago & his mom’s side of the family lives in Hawaii. If you watched the episode where they renewed their wedding vowels in Hawaii, you had a chance to see some of Jon’s family. Kate’s parents aren’t hardly around b/c they said it works better that way.

While I enjoy the show, I agree to an extent that it’s frustrating to hear of their money woes & how they stretch their money in order to provide for their kids (especially buying that dang ORGANIC food that Kate talks about all the time!) when we know they are getting a ton of $ & other freebies from TLC. Although at least in a roundabout way Kate acknowleges that the show is giving her family opportunities they may not otherwise have. This in contrast to TLC’s other mega-family, The Duggars, who gloat about raising their brood debt free without ever mentioning the $ they get from doing the show must go a long way to helping them do this.

#6 Mary - What do you think other people get when they do reality tv shows? They aren’t the only ones that get their vacations paid for. There is Little People Big World, they go on vacations an I bet you a dollar that it’s paid for. So what? Of course you’re going to get paid for doing a show who wouldn’t? And they do think about the needy children. In one episode they had a yard sale at the church and they raised $1000+ dollars. Know what they did with that? They donated it to some cancer hospital/research program. Plus Jon had a 12 hr Job, from 7Am - 7Pm can’t tell me that didn’t pay good. So please don’t judge them until you watch the show to see what they really are about.

and this was family that had never even met either one up until that day (hint, hint- they had to hide the fact that the trip to Hawaii was really based on a free stay at a luxurious resort that charges $800.00 a night rather than renewing their vows- they made it appear like family was there to hide what the essence of that episode was).

There is a reason why people have slowly disappeared off the show and it has little to do with who lives where. Jon and Kate have driven off almost every stable person from their children’s lives. Aunt Jodi and other caretakers from the early episodes are nonexistent now. Once Jon & Kate started making their money, they got rid of anyone and everyone who helped them out for free. Plus some people finally got enough of Kate using them for free babysitting while holding out her hand for charity.

Again, do your research and you will discover there is nothing authentic about Jon & Kate. They are a SCAM!!

Those two right there are ******* crazy. One night the wife is gonna wake up and find those gremlins gnawing daddies face off in bed. Ahhhh!!! Gawd!!!!

givemeabreak! @ 12/15/2008 at 1:47 pm

More like they “use” their extrodinary circumstances (their children) to support/pay for their lavish lifestyle…

You don’t see the McCaughney (sp?) family selling out their children…

Jon & Kate plus eight spells: Pure Selfish Greed!

The Roloff family actually WORKS!! That is a HUGE difference right there. And they are also educating others on little people. Plus they never preach their need for cash nor accept charity (contrary to what you say- they have turned down many offers for free trips). So let’s separate them right away from the Gosselins who always talk about their need for money.

Work is a term Jon & Kate are unaware of. Despite what you say, Jon does not work. Do your research! It is okay to earn money from a reality program yes, but please stop with the claims that they still need money. They continue to take handouts even after now living in a million dollar home and having a full-time staff. They continue to lie about their financial stability. Plus they are doing incredible damage to their children by not only exploiting them, but teaching them that they deserve to be taken care of by other people.

Reports from their speaking engagements (where they appear at churches asking for love offerings) state that they are telling people they have no retirement fund and the children can’t go to college. LIES, LIES, LIES!! They are dishonest people!!

The show is now based on little more than Jon & Kate parading all over the country for free!! And by the way, I am so glad to hear they could give $1,000.00 out of their 6 figure income. Way to go Jon & Kate- get serious, they are a joke and they take advantage of a system designed for families in need. There is no excuse for their dishonesty.

I could go on and on with the facts about this scam of a couple!!

This show makes a good drinking game. Everyone has to have a drink every time she yells “JOHN!!” I wonder if he realizes how whipped he is.

Sharonless @ 12/15/2008 at 2:14 pm

Gesh Mary. Get A Life. It’s just a tv show.

i love their show…the kids are cute and i don’t think they complain about their financial situation…..even if they do what family doesn’t.

lol i agree with sharonless. who cares if they get free crap or they “pimp out” their kids, its none of MY business. Its a freaken tv show and a “reality” one at that. Nothing they show on reality tv is hardly ever true. Hmmm watch a bunch of cute kids or watch one of a dozen reality shows they have on MTV? I’m going with the cute kids!

I bet all those who left negative comments about Jon and Kate probably don’t even have kids and do not understand they are both fabulous parents! I LOVE the show! Just fuel all those haters into your motivators Jon and Kate!

What does being a parent have to do with the truth about Jon & Kate? Me being a parent doesn’t make me any more qualified to see a SCAM than not being one. And while you claim they are loving, great parents, all evidence points to the contrary.

If this was a fictional TV show, then yes- who cares? But these are real people with real children who are passing themselves off as something they are not in order to get a handout. And these are beautiful children who have no choice in being paraded in front of a camera and exploited for some free cash and free vacations. It goes beyond a simple television show. They have preyed on people for charitable handouts- ones that could go to a family who really needs the help. Not one who lives in a mansion and travels all over the country for free.

There are multiple sites and blogs that discuss the truth about this phony couple and have asked TLC to yank it off the air because of the danger to the children. You may say- “oh, it’s just television,” but your support and viewership continues to fund their lifestyle and continues to contribute to the exploitation of thei children.

do they really have a nanny, chef and million dollar home? i watched a few episodes one where some environmental expert came to advise kate about recycling etc and it looked like a normal but comfortable home. Have they moved?

I too find Kate a bit abrasive at times but i understood with 8 kids who wouldn’t. I didn’t know she had staff to help her i got the impression it was her and jon doing it all with a little help from their friends. Lovely kids though.

Mary, it really is just a tv show, it doesn’t affect your life in any way. If you don’t like it, then don’t watch. These people aren’t trying to tell you how to live your life or be superior to you, so stop ranting like someone who has a chip on their shoulder. Also, stop telling people to do their research, we waste enough time writing on blogs without you trying to get us to indulge in more mindless foolishness.
