OlderKate Gosselin Has Eight Disney Kids
Kate Gosselin, star of the TLC hit reality show Jon & Kate Plus 8, recently opened up to Star at P&G’s brandSAVER Live! event.
Here’s what the mother of twins (8-year-old Cara and Mady) and sextuplets (4-year-old Aaden, Joel, Alexis, Hannah, Leah and Collin) had to say:
What kind of TV do they watch? “They’re Disney kids. And to be honest, our show is their favorite thing. They ask to watch it all the time. It’s interesting. It’s like them watching their memories.”
Do the kids know that they’re celebrities? “They don’t understand it. To them, it’s their normal. They’ve been filming since they were 15-months-old and they don’t know any different. And I’ve taught them — and at 4 they understand — that if people are taking pictures, and it bothers you, just say, ‘No, thank you’ and turn your back.”
Do you enjoy doing the show? “The blessings are we get to work from home, we’re there with them. We get to travel. There’s so many experiences that we wouldn’t otherwise have. I feel like it’s making them so well-rounded.”
New episodes of Jon & Kate Plus 8 airs on TLC on Mondays at 9PM ET/PT.

It seems like Jon and Kate are reading all the articles about them, and are trying to do damage control. Kate made a statement about people not thinking they are really working. She said she has to laugh at these comments. She said they are doing a lot of public relations work and writing a new book, and this is considered hard work. Well Kate, the comments are true and you trying to do damage control will not change my opinion of you. I mean about the episode of the yard sale, and the trip to Tennessee to help the children at St. Judes.. Who was donating the toys, the Gosselins or Walmart. This is too little, too late. It is true about your children being exploited. The way the economy is nowdays, you moving to a $1.3 million house will be nothing but a disaster. The house and yard look very deserted. There will probably be no other children to play with. This is not a good situation. When the show is cancelled, I doubt that this mini mansion will be able to be maintaned. All the numerous free trips will be cut off too. This will impact the children, who probably think they are entitled to these trips. There will be a lot of trouble in the future.

You people need to get a life. No one is forcing you to sit down and
watch this show. I have seen almost every episode and I have never
heard Jon or Kate talk about their money problems. Sure it is was
financially stressfull before T.L.C. approached them, BUT T.L.C. did approach them to do the show…not the other way around. Every time
a viewer ask Kate or Jon about the children wanting or not wanting
the camera’s around she says they want them around, there are also
places in the home where the crew are not allowed to film, ex. Mady
and Cara’s room, so if the children dont want to be filmed they can
leave the room. As for research? Where am I supposed to go? Should I trust what you people are saying? What makes you experts
on subject of this family? Are you raising 8 kids? Are your finances
in order and or perfect? How about your relationships with your extended family? Stop watching or shut up! Some of us enjoy the
show, is it perfect? No but T.L.C. (and Jon & Kate) never said it would
be.
my parents were both drunks and had 10 kids who they abused kate i may not like how you speak to and about john and why do you dress them all the same don’t they have different names
over all these children will have great appertunites that most children but i think this is a great for you and your family and you do work heard in spite of what everyone thinks when you come to canada i would like to meet you

The only thing good about this.Is that the kids are very cute..Very sad that they got to were they are because of the amount of kids they had..
I do not have a problem with the gosselins - they are simply reeping the rewards of their situation! I feel that by doing the show etc, they are able to provide more for their kids, than they would have been able to. Also, if they didn’t do it then their would still be alot of secret public curiosity about them and other high order multiple families. No one criticizes parents for letting their kids act on commercials, so why do we have the right to criticize them?! I feel it is there life and the should lead it to their best ability:)

All her children are so cute.
Cara- I love her becuase she is a caring big sister and so sweet
Madelyn- She can be dramtic but i love it when her softer side comes out more
Alexis- I love the things she says like “I is a Alligator” or “I is coming”
Hannah- I love her because she is mummys helper
Aaden- He is just so cute and funny and i love his comments
Collin- He is stubborn but i just wanna squish his big head. cute boy
Leah- She is just so tiny and cute. She looks like if you tap her she will fall over. So Cuteeeeeeeee.
Joel- I love how he loved his daddy and calls himself “Daddys son”. I love how he is sometimes clueless. So Cuteeee again.
I enjoyed the show a lot more when it showed the lives of a family trying to cope with 8 growing children fairly close in age. Like one time they went shopping to a Sam’s or BJ’s and the bill was over $2000.00- I looked at the junk in the basket and thought- no
one who “works” for a paycheck will tolerate that for long- please find another way to disinfect your counter tops- clorox wipes, while convienent, are very exxpensive. As time has past they no longer live like a normal large family, it has become a great big advertisement. I am also sick of hearing Kate say that her kids “deserve” all the freebies, everychild deserves all the wonderful things that life has to offer. What kid soesn’t desreve it? If Jon and Kate go back to their respective careers when the kids are in school full time, I’d like to tune in and see the family tackle homework, projects, and attitudes then. But it is not a reality show when in effect, no real family with 8 children have parents that do not have jobs.
And from earlier episodes- why would you bring 8 children with you to a grocery store, when both parents were available?–1 shop , 1 parent at home. People with only two children don’t take them all the time- insanity!
Oh come on. They are NOT exploiting their kids and they dont beg for freebies. SO MANY JEALOUS/RUDE PEOPLE.
Exploiting is those who enter little girls in pageants and they tell them how to smile/walk/look/ put tons of makeup on them and drive them all over the states getting upset and mad when they dont win or they dont smile right. Mothers who spend 1,000 a month on shoes or a dress for a girl to wear for 3 hours, blah blah blah!
Jon and Kate arent bad people. GET OVER THEM!!
will admit that i have wondered about the 2 friends and Beth not being on the show this season, i do know that the elderly woman (Nana) i think is what they called her, she had moved. I did see some blog from Beths sister blasting the Gosselins, but still not real clear on the dipute that is taking place. But i have no idea on how to locate what has happened to them and why the 3 are not on the show, if anyone knows just out of curiosity i would be interested in knowing.
As for Kate and John, I see nothing wrong with what they are doing.
it is not like the kids are “working” as some are stating. it is all natural and as someone had stated, they have the twins room off limits and John and Kate have made it clear with all of the kids that if they do not want to be filmed or seem thay are to turn away. so they are not making any of the kids do anything that they do not want.
The Gosselins have also stated that they are trying to pay back, such as the hospital that they had the 6 babies and the room that they all stayed in, kate was over joyed that the day had come that she could write a check for a donation to give back for everything during their stay. not to mention the donation of cash and toys to the childrens (canser) hospital and on top of that the garage sale earnings was given as a donation.
So as i enjoy the show and i know i would be insane having all those children as we ALL know it is not an easy job. just having 8 children in general but 6 all the same age, that has be totally overwhelming.
So if you have all these negative opinions on the Gosselins then dont watch!!
I used to like the show, but find Kate’s self centered behavior VERY annoying. If anyone knows, I really like to find out what happend to the friends and Aunt Jodi………..were they cast off like her parents????? What is the REAL story behind that???????????????????
The show is NOT a scam!! While it is obvious that there have been some benefits from doing the show, ie trips, clothing, etc sent to them, you try having a film crew following you 24/7. That plus the eight kids sure sounds like work to me, I can’t imagine trying to run their house, and all the toys, money and trips in the world don’t make being a parent of eight EASY! And being a parent on film, where the whole world can sit on their butts and criticize….Easy for you all to say, but try trading places. Bet you wouldn’t last five min. or think they have such fancy glamorous lives then. Also, Kate is a registered nurse, and Jon is an IT analyst for the gov’t, or was, they are educated people who had GREAT jobs before the kids. One more thing, the odds of having sextuplets are so slim, that is why they have their own show in the first place, so yes, they knew multiples was a possibility, but most couples end up with like, twins. Nobody expects six! Duh
i love your guys show i think u sould what is best for u an your 8 kids but i think we sould aslo get head up every once whalie see hows u guys are i wouldent mind with the show going off an on once whalie i know it porple show an all iam 21 ys old i love all of your kids xoxox give theme kisses for me kelley hubbard
@mary: What I always found so odd is Kate’s comment in the sextuplets 3rd birthday episode that none of the grandparents are involved in John and Kate’s lives. John did mention in that episode that his father is deceased, and his maternal grandmother appeared briefly on camera. In a later episode, Kate stated that her mother took care of the twins when she delivered the sextuplets. So apparently the grandparents were involved until sometime before the Gosselins started doing the reality show . I can’t help but think the grandparents were concerned (rightfully so) that their grandchildren were being exploited.
@lia: you are extra lame if mary is jodi than who better to give a first hand account of the scam that they’re runnig why would kate not want jodi to get paid when jodi’s kids and home and marriage was being put on display as well why would kate want to take potential blessings and opportunities that paying jodi could have meant for her kids i’ve have listened to kate whine about how she can’t just go and buy herself clothes cause they have to use all the resources to raise the kids you can’t tell me having ten incomes from the show alone not counting book deals dvd sales tv itnerviews and magazine articlesis enough to provide for the family i hope the kids have trust accounts to pay for the therapy they are going to need

The Duggars do get money from the show BUT they make most of their money owning commercial property which they rent out. They were living this way even BEFORE the show. They certainly are a bigger family then the Gossalins which I have absolutely no sympathy for and they NEVER complain about their financial situation or dishonestly tell people they are broke whne they aren’t. While the Duggers are a strange brood, I admire them MUCH more then the Gossalins. You certainly don’t see them going on free vacations or writing books or anything. Do you research!
Your show is so awesome. I cant believe that they are already five years old. I just watching this last year and I already love them. They are one the the top two showes that I love if not the best. I have to say that Hannah and Leah are my two favorite out of the Sixtuplets. Cara I love her because she is always layed back. But sometime like normal people have some problems or tantrums. John I cant believe that you did that and for that long you could have just gotton a divorse and be over with it but no I have to go and sneek around and lie about every thing to your WIFE AND KIDS. Kate I think that your awesome and you should keep up the good work. You are so good with the kids and I hope to be like you if I have kids.(Just not that many). You maybe had some bad times but everybody should respect you ALOT more than your husband. Kate you should really keep up the good work I know that it is not that easy. But you have gotton used to it. I think that you are so insperational compared to your husband John. Love your show!!!!!!!!!!
Mary- Who pissed in your Cheerios? Everyone is right, it is just a simple TV show, which as no affect on you. And no, I do not believe the children will mind being video taped while they were younger. And before you judge them, have 8 kids yourself and see how pricey they can be. Have one first, then see. Just having one costs enough money. Kate thanks everyone for their donations and for everything that people give to them. She doesn’t stand out on the side of the road begging for money. It’s a reality TV show, just like every one of them. Take Small People, Big World for example. Why should they get paid big bucks for have something wrong with them? My point exactly. Get over yourself and grow up a little.
