Eddie Murphy is The Riddler
Eddie Murphy will play Gotham villian The Riddler in the next Batman movie, reports The Sun.
The 47-year-old former Beverly Hills Cop was tapped by British director Christopher Nolan to reprise the role played by Jim Carrey in 1995’s Batman Forever.
The studio has also reportedly signed up Transformers star Shia LaBeouf, 22, to play Robin. Rachel Weisz is rumored to be taking up the Catwoman role.

This is false news. Nolan has stated clearly time and time again that there will be no Robin. Balehas even made it clear tha if there is a Robin, he will try to get out of his contract.

This is not real. No way they are going to do this. Nolan has said he is not even sure if he wants to do another Batman, so I highly doubt that he would bring in eddie murphy to play the riddler. As far as Robin goes, Nolan has said he does not want Robin in his series. Considering the other Batman franchise went downhill when they changed Batman’s and added Robin and Batgirl, I doubt they would ruin this Batman series, that has set a new bar for comic book movies after the Dark Knight.
NO, just NO. This cannot be true. This is THE dumbest thing I’ve ever heard. Depp couldn’t top the Joker but he is a great actor that could make another great performance. If Eddie Murphy and Shia actually are in this movie, it would be the PERFECT way to **** ALL OVER The Dark Knight. I WILL NOT believe something as retarded as this to be true. Maybe for a stupid Schumacher film where Arnold is Mr. Freeze, but not in a Nolan Batman movie that is always faithful and professional. This would RUIN the series forever.

he will be by far the worse riddler ever, batman 3 will be the worse movie ever so congrats on that, the riddler should be played by Ben Foster because he could play anything and they should of added Philip Seymour Hoffman as the peguin
Is anyone besides me sick of the inconsistencies in the Batman movies? I mean Harvey Dent was played by Billie Dee Williams in the 1st Batman movie (with Michael Keaton as Batman) and then played by Tommy Lee Jones in Batman Forever and Aaron Eckhard in the Dark Knight. Now they want to take Jim Carrey’s famous portrayal of the Riddler and put Eddie Murphy into the role??? I hope this is total BS!
O please God No. I hope its Depp and im sur everyone else here wants theat to. Nolan if your reading this please let it be depp and defentily not murphy. murphy is defintly not meant to be in a movie like one this good. i think Murphy would be terriable at this role and send the money down. eddie murphy would be a good riddler, people are doubting his acting abilities, which is ridiculous, and i would definitley not watch any movie with robin in it, even though i like shia, and rachel weisz as catwoman is oke, though i think there are better choices…but this **** came from the sun…

THAT IS JUST WRONG!!! i hope this is just a very ugly rumour, johnny depp is a MUCH better choice . Murphy should stick to comedies– as far as acting ability goes, hes no Denzel Wash.
It’s part of Christian Bale’s contract that there will be no Robins in this franchise of Batman films.
Also, Nolan said in a recent interview that he hasn’t even begun to think about the next film, IF there is a next film.
If this is all true, I’ll eat frikin Kleenex tissue for dinner (with ketchup!). You can’t have a director like Nolan select the stories and cast he has thus far, then do a turn like this.
Besides, Nolan said himself that he currently has no plans to film a third, for good reason. As he puts it, why make a sequel unless it can be as good or better than the last?

Seriously,,they really need to get depp to play this role. Honestly eddie murphy is garbage next to depp. Depp is an excellent actor. he deserves this role. I want the movie to be great, not reminding me of the nutty professor evertyime i see it.

To have Eddie Murphy as The Riddler would be a cruel joke. The man has not had any usable talent for years. He is way to self asorbed to play the role..next thing you know he’ll want to be Batman and every other important role in the film. And if the crew survies filming with him, his very presence will tank the film in the boxoffice. But if we’re lucky he’ll kick the bucket like the actor who did The Joker(no offence to the decesed just making a point).
This better be a joke. What a hideous casting job otherwise! I thought they weren’t having Robin in the film? And Eddie as The Riddler is just plain yuck. I cannot imagine him in the role at all.
