Eddie Murphy is The Riddler

Absolutely ridiculous choice! This will ruin the franchise, just like the other Batman movies were. Also, no one should even be considered for the role of Catwoman besides Angelina Jolie

Eddie Murphy might have fit in as Riddler in the old 1960s TV series or in the Burton / Schumacher movies. I doubt that he would fit in as Riddler in the current Nolan / Batman series of movies. I would prefer Nolan cast a serious or dramatic type of actor as Riddler, this would fit in more with the tone of his movies and would go against type (previous Riddlers having been comic actors). I’d even favour a complete retcon job of the Riddler and have him work as both an ally with Batman and his enemy as well!

this message goes out to all the people who have posted these ridiculous opinions. ok, sure this article might be a load of garbage but if its not, who are you to judge this casting choice? we have no idea how Eddie would play out in the role. Take Heath Ledger for example….. he played a gay cowboy…. noone expected the amazing performance he had as the joker. Why can’t you give Eddie the same chance as the Riddler? Obviously the casting crew saw something in him to benefit the role. If it is true its not like they just pulled his name out of thin air. Personally i dont think it will be near as good of a performance as Heath Ledger had but i think we would all be surprised at how good of a riddler he would play.

everybody is saying how bad this casting is, but has anybody given him a chance yet?
if somebody said to me a year ago, that heath ledger is playing the joker in the new batman, id say “what the gay guy from brokeback mountain?” and look at his performance!
give him a chance first you never know, could go down in history…

Trust me, this is a load of bull. Nolan himself said he’d lock himself in his trailer if EVER anyone suggests to use a Robin in his film. Don’t believe everything you see, kiddies.
